I am starting this thread in hopes of a possible spark up of ideas for a possible H shiftier script of some sort.

Anything is possible... this thread is just to help ensue brain storming about possibilities/blueprints to this potential creation.

Imagne SLRR with H shift capabilities......

If H shifter works as normal button (e.g. if it's on first gear, then button 1 is pressed) it should be easy to assign that to right gear.

Yet I know no Java, so I cannot help.

I'm going to delete any topic you create from now on, since you dont seem to care about the rules(thus posting any random slrr related question inside THIS thread).

lmao.... Cause i'm totally intentionally breaking the rules.... give me a break dude. I made a simple post, do you think I honestly read your little rule book up and down? No. Sorry if my simple post offended you oh' great one. I literally have like 15 post, mistakes will be made, I think you need to kick back and smoke one bro. "Im going to delete any topic you create" --- The attitude of a 13 year old.

Added 2 minutes later:

# TheSkidKid : Already works for me. Using a G27.

How so? I tried using XPadder and putting all of the gears to button 1 for example and reverse being button 2.

Example 2: 1,2,3,4,5,6 gears are button 1
R is button 2

I believe this can be achieved through java as you have stated. Joining forces with a few others that know java could lead to potential success.

"The attitude of a 13y.o." said the guy who writes everything in large letters and dont care about reading rules. ;)

I'm just doing my job, making people respect site's rules. You know, when you go at someone's house you just dont do whatever you want, you dont put your feet on their lounge table, so here neither you do what you want. Be kind and read our rules here: *LINK*

Here is the thing, I am totally 100% willing to respect the rules of said "house" but I would bet everything that you dont read most instructions of manuals when you buy something, I know I dont.. That same rule applies to forums. Did you really think that I read the rules up and down? You dont enter someones home and put your feet up on their lounge table because its a common rule KNOWN not to do so. How does that pertain to this?

well,
A - I did not read the rules, therefore have no knowledge of them and never intentionally broke them.
B - You could have handled the situation in a much better way. EX: Hey, I know you are new to the forums and all but here is where you are breaking rules please correct them.
C - Respect goes a long way, Yes you were acting like a 13 year old child at the moment, not saying you are I am saying the statement was as if you were.
D - In the grand scheme of things my only purpose for even being of Vstanced is to contribute to the community as I have been playing slrr since I was like 13 - 14... Therefore I hone skills to a certain extent. (Not importing exporting shit... Java ect.)

By the way I made the message larger therefore you could read it easier. I know it can be difficult to read sometimes.

Well it is a little different from my perspective since i always see everyone's bs around, commonly i'm kinder than that but i'm a bit pissed off atm, so yeah i'll give you right that i could have been kinder. :P

Anyways, you can create threads but not for random questions, that's because we want the site to be clean(so that if somebody searches anything, it'll be found in a unique big thread instead than on a bazillion short ones).

Okay, TheSkidKid, I'm curious as to how exactly you got it to work. I haven't found anything like that in the options; are you just talking about the wheel itself working?

Also, it's really a shame there doesn't seem to be any key binding for first through sixth gear; SLRR has an analog clutch function, whereas even like TDU2 doesn't (and TDU2 really needs it - along with working limited slip diffs, but that's a whole other story).

Yes, it is quite a disappointment that Slrr does not have H shifting capabilities... That doesnt mean it is not a possibility though. If the gears were set through java it could possibly work, although this would be some task. Which is why we are here, I would love to start a joint project with whomever would be willing to create such a thing. (exchanging information/knowledge) (possible Skype, or Teamviewer type shit)

Marco was looking at it a little earlier and telling me some things. I'll have to take a look for myself, but if the gear-change thing is in the EXE and not the Java files (and there's no way to do something really clever like write a Cheat Engine trainer to manually change the gears), then we'd be screwed.

Actually... the Cheat Engine thing just might work, if there was a way to hook the current gear of the car and capture the input from the H-shifter. It's interesting that no one has broken into SLRR with Cheat Engine much. But, on the other hand, so many things are instanced classes in this game instead of things with static memory addresses that it's probably very difficult.

(If anyone already knows how it could be done, RAXAT might; but I have a feeling he wouldn't be able to tell us yet if so, because he's busy with everything.)

I don't know but I don't even use it any more. Whenever I play SLRR it's just to take screenshots, therefore I never drive or race. I just remember when I first started playing it, I played it properly and it worked fine, must have just been the right setup.

I definitely think it can be done through java. You would have to create pretty much everything though. Attaching entities 1-6 to the gears, this would in turn be a very intricate script.

Could you make some sort of script that recognizes what gear your in and adjusts it in game? As in if your in first and then you go to third, it will up shift twice for you. Then if you go to reverse it will downshift 4 times for you... I think it could work well possibly. It would take a lot of repeating but I think the concept might work, though there could be shifting lag.

I think that just synchronizing button with gear is easier.
