I'd really like to know if any of you appreciate the body design of the prius 2011(pics below), so please answer honestly and only as said only about the body(feel free to comment about why you like or dislike it).
Thanks everyone. This post was edited by Bigg Boss93 (2013-06-20 19:45, ago) |

The only thing that ruins the car is the name "Prius" and being a shitty hybrid ... Apart from that i like the body style

Not talking about the mod:
Ignoring the fact that it's still a shitty hybrid, still less efficient than a 90's diesel VW; it's simply out of proportion. It's a huge whale of a body on tiny wheels. And I don't mean rim size. I mean the wheels, tyres and all. The rear looks extremely unfinished. While I'm not a fan of the BMW X6; that car managed to pull off the that stupid looking trunk. This one can't. It's all OK until you see the huge straight wall that is the car's rear. So bland, and so massive. By the way, that window on the trunk: "Original design, do not steal!!!". And the massive bland looking theme sticks with the front as well. There's a huge amount of wasted bland space between the bumper grille and the radiator grille. The hood has absolutely no shape to it. No bends, no nothing. The stupidly bent, curvy look of the grille and headlights juxtaposed with the empty-looking hood create a lulz-worthy spectacle for your eye. One the side, again you've got something but nothing. It's a straight set of panels. With a line going upwards from front to back in a slightly diagonal fashion, with an absolutely empty, bland and HUGE space under it. It's like someone took an Aygo's prettycooldesign™ curvy body, but tried stretching it. And in the end the body started breaking, so they filled it up with straight sheet metal and call it a job well done. OK, except for the trunk. The top half of the rear is of course "Original design, do not steal!!!™", and the from the window downward it's again that straight bland looking thing. |

First thing: Regardless of what I'm about to say about the design of the car, I absolutely love the mod and how much detail you've put into it. It's made at an exemplary level of quality that all other SLRR modders should aspire to reach.
I like the 2010+ Prius marginally better than the 2003-2009 design, which I would characterize as looking like a beached whale. The 2010+ Prius looks like the same beached whale from before has now had a meat cleaver taken to it. It's a noticeable, but not sufficient, improvement over the totally bland previous design. The cetacean nature of the Prius is mostly apparent from the front, which is mostly a featureless blob. There are actually a few cool touches on the rear. The tail lights scream "trying too hard to be technologically savvy", but the split window is cool because it reminds me of the Honda CRX. As Davidov pointed out, though, it's hardly an original styling element, and with the Prius, the Insight, and the CR-Z all using it, it's becoming more and more tainted as a feature of bland hybrids. The interior, to me, demonstrates much of what's wrong with modern interior styling: slab-like dashboard, with no instrument cluster to speak of; plastic everywhere; too many touch-screens all over everything; and the doors are a foot thick thanks to safety regulations, making the inside of the car much smaller (and the outside much bigger) than it ought to be. (The rest of the comments aren't really about the styling.) Some close friends of mine have a 2004 Prius. It's a nice enough car to ride in. The suspension is cushy but not nearly as numb as that of a similar model year Avalon, the seats are comfortable, and the car is actually pretty decently responsive. Surprisingly, you could fit an impressive amount of stuff in the trunk. (Not kidding. We used to haul metal pipes, cardboard boxes filled with paper, and other cargo inside it, with four or five people still in tow.) Performance-wise, I wouldn't call the Prius a "bad car" by its own merits. I think that it falls short of what it's meant to achieve: fuel economy and environmental consciousness. An all-electric car is a much better way to go, or even a much lighter gas-only car - the hybrid drivetrain wastes a lot of weight, no matter how much it makes up for it. It's also an auto enthusiast's bane, given that (trendy body kits and wild all-electric conversions aside) there are no meaningful modifications one can perform on it. |

Never really liked the Prius but for some reason the rims and kit make it look a bit better minus the fact that they look like a boat in real life.

body design is a pos imo.. hard to make much of it, it serves its purpose as a company car here in uk and a "look i care about planet init" car.. but over all i have no feelings for it
mod it self looks awesome, even tho i had it sitting in my hdd for a couple of weeks(ofc not the latest version) i havent had a chance to try it but from the pictures you have put a lot of effort into it so good on you dude! and if you like it hey ho.. who gives a turd. and i bet there are people that wan't to stick a v10 in it.. kinda like you did. |

If you´re making parts (engine parts) maske it have it´s own kind of gearbox. Please script the engine parts (if there will be any) and the car to induvidual .rpk files and folders so there won´t be any risk for the files will get defected when adding engines with SLREditor? if there will be any custom parts for the body then something out of a DTM kit would be something!
