Decided to take the 86 to a local shop.. and got some pics..
Also sprayed the centers of the Dori Dori's in white and ten times better looking! Was also thinking of getting a TRD wing so hmu if you have one for sale or know of one for sale... ended up with temp plates too since the car wasnt registered for a while.
There will be an actual update soon

Somehow your 86' looks very different from every other 86' that I have seen, there is something about it that I can't explain, the feelings I get while looking at it. B)

Every 86 that I've seen after owning this is way different (all in good ways) I think its the fact its not panda. Makes me feel a certain way too man haha, Its a beauty ngl.
The wheels fit really well too, i probably wont change them unless i see something that really catches my eye.

Conversion... Conversion...
So the guy who owned AE86 before me had another one in storage which had an SR20 Conversion. Now i was ecstatic to see it, and now its got me thinking if i should really keep the 4A or find a different engine. Maybe a 2UZ or an SR even if it means it wont be original anymore.
Lemme know of any suitable engines and ill probably pick the most popular one lmaoo. Here's the SR AE86 (it looks really similar to mine just yellow and a bit more track orientated)

SR is kinda overdone imo, f2x/k2x swap would be cool/weird imo

Well, seen a hand full AE's with SR20's... if you want to go full crazy... go rotary. But tbh the 4A is a great motor!

All really viable swaps. I think the biggest possibility is the Beams or K/F Series. LS is a little hard to get since i am in Japan and American V8's are not common at all lmao, Rotary would be OTT for an AE86 but really cool.
Ill compare prices for Beams VS K/F Series and then decide..

You can get a cheap Altezza with 3S and take the engine out, then sell the car as spares, which should even make you some small profit in the end. Of course the engine might need rebuild or something, but after all you will knew what is right or wrong with your engine. Thats the way I would do it, remember my X30 ? It definitely worked for me.

Just snatched a RS200 Altezza for $889 or 100,000 JPY. Its somewhat damaged but the engine is in perfect condition, low mileage and its a 6 speed. Guess im going Beams haha

My man, can't go wrong going that way lol, I can't wait till you start building your engine up, will be interesting to see your part list and so on and how much hp will it make, aaah, so many flashbacks from my build.

Stock valves and crankshaft are more than enough if not going over 500hp+ imo, so don't waste money on these, oem valves are titanium, crankshaft is also strong af, only re-balance it properly and so on, I am sure that you can take a look at my part list, every part and cost of it that went into build is there, I am sure it will help ya.

Ill have a look now, i think i might end up with lightweight forge pistons and h beam rods. Nothing else. Since as you said the stock valves and crank are good till about 400 or so. Possibly get the crank polished and look at porting the head.

'Tezza Collected...

So went upto Ibaraki which didnt take too long, met the seller and i passed him the cash. Started to take a bit of a look and oh my.. its had some abuse haha. From what i can tell it was a drift slut, most of the bodywork is damaged in some way, the interior isnt standard, has a fake Bride which should be great to sit in for nearly 2 hours back. Also i never mentioned the fact its on cut springs, dumped on the ground and the shocks are blown out. f u n..

The body panels are either stock or some sort of rip off brand, the bonnet is similar to an Evo 6 one imo, has an apparent TRD wing which seems fake and just some more general bodgery. One thing im happy about is how the engine runs, its smooth and i cant hear a single knock. Slight squeel when starting but thats probably a loose belt. Straight through isnt nice tho, sounds like a hornets nest which is dreadful in the small side streets. Ill start tearing this apart when i get back, gotta order a shit ton of parts for the engine, and then we can start with the conversion!

Sooo Finances:
AE86 - $10K
Wheels Painted - $900
Altezza - $889
= $11,789
$16,304 - $11,789 = $4515

@MACKAY I’m definitely glad I chose to buy a whole car instead of an engine alone, always smarter this way most of the time.
@radcoon The shell isn’t too bad, if I decide to keep it, it will make a good practice car for sure, Yotas taking over hahaha
