Having some small meeting with Mr. Lee about the 'Night Potatoes'... Fairly stock on the outside.... With some minor tweaks on the front bumper. Carbon-masked center lights. White looks really good. Interior has some tweaks, like custom hydraulic brake and shifter. His daily Type-X 180SX reminds me of my previous Sil80 |

Night Potatoes I headed to 'Night Potatoes' garage shop where I kept my Supra for minor tweaks. Yes this is the garage I prepared with 11000rpm with the aid of Mr. Lee. The team was a typical small local cars & coffee club, but now it is a decent shop with some part imports and also imported car registrations in Korea. We don't have 25-year law or whatsoever and that is cool. Currently there are only OBD and gas emission regulations, but that can be easily exempted because he could find several loopholes I think Mr. Lee used my Supra as a 'show car' for the garage, but I am okay with it. Only car guys visit this kind of place, and there's no danger of getting my car vandalized. Talking about the tweaks, Mr. Lee got the custom 2JZ head cover that shows the cam gear and the belt. It looks better than the stock one and it only costed V$ 200, considering it was custom made. Also, Greddy cam gears and the cam belt was installed. Stock ones were not in a good condition after the test drive, so I kept this car in the shop for several days for inspection and part delivery. The cam gears and the cam belt costed V$ 600. Mr. Lee's daily 180SX is always parked in front of the shop. I guess he recently sourced several pairs of Khusha wheels that could fit onto his S13. Using JDMs as a drift car is considered a bold move here, since most people here use Genesis Coupes for drift events. Probably getting parts and relatively young chassis are main reasons. Probably I should tell him to stop playing Overwatch too seriously. He even made those DVA stickers and gave it to me. |

Well some may liked the faded factory red color on the 180, but I thought I'd go for another color this time. I found the color code of the R32 Black and ordered some paint to Mr. Lee. I kept the car in the shop and took my Supra. And several days later, this is how it turned out. I found the used silver AVS-6 wheels on the market and grabbed it for V$ 600. Kinda cheap but it needs some cleaning and it was missing caps. Keeping my R33 Stock wheels just in case. Perhaps a winter tire? The car gives me a 90's feeling. 11000RPM and Mr. Lee will like it. I put my car in the garage and gotta take a rest. It was quite a tough week for me. |

Thank you guys. I also love my progress on "dailying" my S13. Now this is the reason why I kept my Supra in the shop for few days again. Nothing has been changed very much, but I've focused on the details that I could've been missed. First, the wheels. The Advan TC3 was repainted by myself with a nice satin bronze finish. The old tires had to be taken out and replaced to Toyo Proxes R888 tires which gives Supra more grip than usual. Also, the calipers were painted red. I ordered the custom "zen-sekai" Wheel caps from 11000rpm and his work was truly astonishing. Second, aerodynamics. I got rid of rear winshield wiper and the stock Supra wing (and many of you will probably hate), because Supra without the wing also look great. At least in my point of view. The F1-Style custom mirrors were installed as well. That's not a real carbon though. ...And this is basically how my "Teddy" Supra looks like. Anime keyrings, Anyone? Oh yeah, I use my phone's map as my GPS navigator. This post was edited by Soju (2017-10-18 20:28, ago) |

It's the Supra's American luxury market cousin. |

TOYOTA GANG I had to repaint the whole wheels because the satin paint started to crack all over the place and scattered the paint chips all over. Scraping the wheels all over again and respraying it white was a big pain, but the result look better than expected. Anyway, I headed to the garage where 11000rpm is staying. The sun was setting quicker than before. By the time I arrived, it was already nighttime. The wind is so cold these days. Mr. Lee and 11000RPM were already in the garage, talking some stuff about Japan. Btw, his JZX was already painted new, and it showed great quality. Well finally I could go Japan with my car this time. |

# MACKAY : Can't wait to see your cars driving in the land of JDM It definitely is! but if i try to import a car(eg: used mint condition GT86 around 20k or something like this) from there the money goes double, triple even worse :c P.S. GT86 in our country costs almost twice as much than japan costs lol This post was edited by 11000rpm (2017-10-22 12:54, ago) |

And considering the Japan is so close, the prices just doesn't make any sense lol. ( as example it is kinda similar to importing a car to Norway, taxes when importing is over the roof ) # Soju : It won't take so long. We were told that we could even use our own Korean plates while driving in Japan, so no problems so far Awesome! You don't see cars in Japan with Korean plates very often lol, it will be a nice sight seeing JDM car here with Korean plates |

Finally In Japan...... Probably by now you've heard a great news from 11000RPM. Yes we've arrived in Japan safe and sound. 11000RPM got his accomodation through Nishiyama, and I just decided to stay at MACKAY's place until things settle down. So, he basically mentioned all of the stuff we took care of 'after' the arrival, and I'd like to share how it was done. Basically it was a pain in the ass to work around with those bureaucrats arguing over automobile shipment to Japan. We took care of all the stuff in Korea and headed to the ship yard, and boy it was a terrible experience. I had to stay over 18 hours in the boat doing nothing, and that is the worst thing that could happen by now. After the ferry arrived in Japan, we directly headed to the freight customs department to return our rides... But there was a minor problem. Forget about the import/export documents on the windshield. I guess the cargo where the cars were held wasn't really clean, and I could see the dust all over the car. Of course 11000RPM didn't like this very well, since his car was recently repainted. Anyway, we cleaned our rides at the gas station near the local highway. We also refueled our car. ... And that's how we arrived in Japan. Pretty shitty experience on a boat, but fantastic in our rides. |
