Cancelled the BMW deal... Want to know why? I need the extra cash to put towards a little something I am cooking up. That something is a tuning shop. It opens a week from today. How hard can it be to run a tuning shop? All I have to do is buy a few more tools and then I'm gucci.
In other news... I taped my mirror back on but after a bit of hooning, it tilted itself back down and fell off again.

The picture is blurry because VTEC was in the process of kicking in.

@Harrison. I am heading to the junkyard tomorrow night. I can pick you up, if you want. I am going to borrow the agency's van again.

I'll come, too. I can drive one of my own cars there; it'll probably have to be the Supra, because hatch + no rear seats = best available space for crap I bring home. Unless I'm having something towed home, in which case that works too.

While I'm here, let me post an update on the Skyline.
(By the way, this isn't Nevada like that one set of pics from the older post; this is a similar warehouse somewhere in-state.)

Got a JUN style hood, and a set of AeroCatch hood latches - because I don't want my hood flying up and possibly leading me to crash, especially given the speeds this car sees sometimes. The vents in the hood should also help improve under-hood air flow, making that even less of a problem. With this acquired, I sold the Top Secret one to a fellow in the UK with another Nismo Red R33. Possibly against all reason, I'm keeping the stock one, though. I resisted getting an N1 hood lip, though - in part because I kind of don't like the look as much, and in part because Luke has one on his R33 now and I don't want to copy his car too closely (after he copied mine! - just kidding, man).

Also finally tracked down a diffuser that would work for this rear bumper. It's not a genuine Nismo item, it's a generic piece for multiple car types, but it works nicely here, I think, and improves aerodynamics.

Finally, I got a set of new Sparco reclining seats to replace the garish red-fabric buckets I had in here before. These are a lot more comfortable than the ones I had, even if they may be a touch heavier - and they may be safer, even. Contrary to what the stitching suggests, they are in fact cloth rather than leather, which is good because leather would be uncomfortably hot here. I looked into getting something with Alcantara, but Alcantara is ridiculously expensive - both on finished seats, and by the yard / meter.

While I had the car out, I took a beauty shot of the interior.
(Yes, I do have the lights on with the car off. The battery in this thing is awesome.)

Hi guys, i finally sold the Chevy... Well a little bit of trade.
The car goes to an old retired Marine who had a restoration project never done.

The beast was slowly dying between his house and his fence, there is some rust but the steel is thick the most annoying thing is that there's no engine at all... The tyres are cracked but they don't fit the car anyways.

Here's the machine!

Towed it back to the garage with the Volvo then pushed it in a corner. Gotta build a good strong engine.

@ Harrisson Your R33 is so beautiful! I can't wait to see it. I hope we'll meet in some event. It may be possible when the tow truck is ready to get functionnal.

Sooo-...I installed a set of Skunk2 coilovers, Brembo brakes, ECU, right now it's pushing 15 pounds of boost, which I have found out it's kinda the limit of this turbo.
So next on the list is: Forged Pistons/rods, bigger Turbo, Bigger injectors. After that I may aswell consider it finished as I don't need something way too fast.

(Alright, since my save game died {all of them, RIP SLRR}, I'm gonna do a complete reality wipe. My reality, anyway. Hope you guys are okay with it.)

As a birthday gift, my asshole of a friend, who runs an auto repair shop, has given me this R34 with missing suspension on one side, incomplete suspension on the other, a blown motor and with barely any panels on it.

Hooray. Since I turned 14, my dad has opened a savings account in my name, with me working on a part-time job as a delivery guy for our food business. I'll take a peek there and see whether or not I have enough dosh for this thing.

Anyway, I'll come back here once I figure out what the hell I'm gonna do with this... chassis, let's say.

[ISAAC BLACKBURN IS BUSY]

(yay for lifeline references)

Added 45 minutes later:

(Not sure if you're allowed to double-post on this kind of topic but I'm not gonna wait 10 hours for you guys to post something.)

The first thing I did was to take some panels from an abandoned R34 that these guys used to work on. They kinda just left it there so I took those and put them on.

My friend wasn't too pleased with that but, hey, f*ck him. I know I'm getting an R34, which is pretty awesome considering how rare this car is nowadays, and I'm grateful, but since this is just basically the chassis of the damn thing, I'd rather take an EG6.

Here's the car after I fit everything else on.

Another shot of it.

The donor car also had an awesome bumper-mounted wing on it. Pretty cool, innit? It's not gonna be easy to park, but hey, it looks good at least, and that's what you guys count, right?

It isn't all good news for me. My savings account has enough money to buy some brand-new suspension parts, and maybe a full set of rims, but not enough to build an engine for it. I'll see if my friend has a spare RB25/26 that they have lying around here. Probably not.

Good news! I ordered some suspension parts from a group of people who wishes to remain anonymous and now I can get this car rolling!

...literally, since it doesn't have an engine yet. Isaac, the guy who gave me the R34 and the owner of the auto repair shop I'n currently building this thing on, said that, no, he doesn't have a spare RB26 engine as they've all been installed on previous racing-spec R34/R32 builds.

Anyone here have an RB26 they can sell to me? I have about $7,000 dollars left on my savings.

Hmm, I'll consider it as a sort of a placeholder engine. Let me think about it.

Would anyone be interested in the E24 if I was to sell it? I do like it, but I've bought another car and may start daily driving that. Immaculate condition, comes with stock suspension and stock style 5s with tires mounted, as well as everything you see on the car in the last few photos. Let me know, it's a perfect daily but I wouldn't make it a racecar. If no one wants to give me $13000 for it then I'll daily it still, it's a steal at that price for the condition.

Just bought myself a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8. I wanted one of these as a kid since the day I saw the concept car, and I've finally got a chance to pick one up for cheap. 6.1 Hemi, 6 speed manual, great running car and a whole lot of fun. It's not a hellcat but it doesn't need to be. I plan to lower it a bit and put some proper winter tires on as these all seasons aren't doing the job. If the E24 doesn't sell then I'll just get new wheels and all seasons instead.

Good news, I've finally bought an RB26DET for exactly $7,000 dollars.

Well, you shouldn't hurry with your builds. I mean, usually it takes quite long to rebuild a car (at least a few days). And remember, if you buy parts from someone not in your area, it takes some time for parts to arrive. For example: I bought a 2JZ from Lucky1913 and some 19" rims from supahotfire, now i'm waiting for everything to arrive, doing nothing. :P

Also, would a VW Golf MKIII be a good daily? I have never owned a VW and need some feedback that I can trust.

On the way over, I stopped to get gas (livin' the 302 life) and there was a dank LS swapped R32, now, the typical JDM fan would become increasingly butthurt about the "ruined car" but, the thing was fucking mint. Anyways, I'm literally close enough that I can see the shop. Going to stop screwing around now. See you very soon.

Is it OK that I had my friend drop the van, trailer and Supra off? I have all the engine shit and I want to finally get it installed...

The motor itself is in, I just need to put all my aftermarket shit on. All the parts weren't too hard to source, a Toyota Tuning shop has most of it in stock, and I ordered some on overnight shipping a few days ago.

Tonight I hope to have these things done...
-Engine assembled (not wired at all)
-New wheels on
-Bodykit installed
