So I've been busy for quite a while - I've had my projects under wraps, admittedly.

A few months back, I dug up some pictures of the old Supra on a flash drive I forgot I had. Looking at my now wrecked beauty was making my heart ache.

I thought about deleting these pictures for good, to keep me from missing the old car; but I held off on the decision and I'm glad I didn't.

After thinking about it for a long time, I decided the "new" Supra needed some love too.

And, after several months of hard work, I finally think I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel - if you'll pardon the visual pun, what with the car actually coming out of a tunnel and all - on this build.

The wing is obvious - and I acquired that months ago. But you may have noticed in the last pic that this car is sporting an intercooler, and in this pic, it has a "Turbo" badge!

That's right - I'm back in a turbo Supra. The engine is a VVT-i, although I went and traded my shiny new valve covers to someone with scratched up ones and painted those black to get the stock look. (This is a zenki Supra, after all - it wouldn't have had the teal valve covers signifying VVT-i even in Japan.)

And I've gone and built the engine for good measure, since I had a good chunk of change hanging around from months of work and saving.

It's still an automatic, but who cares? I took precautions to make sure it would last a long time - that, and I kept the transmission that came with the new engine, so it should last for a long time.

And it drives very nicely. The suspension is still well in excess of what the car needs (something I had trouble saying about the R33 for a while until I finally got it sorted). Meanwhile, the automatic makes it a nice daily driver.

Haven't had it dynoed yet, but a seat-of-the-pants estimate is that it makes about 400 horsepower. That's on low boost. (That, or the automatic is sucking all the power out! I hope not...) Anyway, I'll keep you all posted as I tune it.
Financials:
I just spent 18 grand on this engine. Guess that's one interpretation of "retail therapy"! Sure worked for me.
