So a bit about me: I'm Marc, 28, and moved to Japan 6 year ago to work as a designer at Toyota. A couple of months ago I moved from toyota-shi to Sendai. So I still work as a freelancer in the car industry and focus on my own company (car options).
After I spend a lot of my savings on the new home a have left 2,283,156.82 VY which is 20.000V$. So for my first project I went all the way to K's garage to grap a 1976 Toyota Mark 2 Grande for 7.600 but than I got my eye on this 1978 Mark 2 Cressida which is an import version left hand drive. It has 136k running km but is still in nice condition. So after some talkin I grapped it for 6.500 which is more than fair. As I need a daily as well, I got the 1998 Mark 2 for 2.500. This thing got 202k running kilometres but it runs. I might be a project if my finace deal with a local Lexus dealer will work. So this morning I took the cressida for a last ride before I start to work on it. So I'll head to Up Garage in Wakabayashi Ward to see if I find some bits.... so thats 11k V$ left. That's a Cresta not a Mark 2. Both cars look quite clean, what are your plans for them?

# Weedz : Nice cars! Any ideas for first mods? Thx, Got some suspension parts and a set of ssr wheels for the Cressida. I need to lighten it a bit and get many spare rear tires. # Lagano : That's a Cresta not a Mark 2. Both cars look quite clean, what are your plans for them?Well my friends actually it is a Mark 2 X100 as this is the basic version, not the luxury cresta or chaser. For the x100 not quite much of a plan. The x30 will be a dori weapon. |

Yesterday I came home late after my shopping tour at upgarage. For the Tein shock/spring set, the 16" SSR sharkstars with dunlops, the splitter and the strut bar I spend total 1500V$ All are used but nice condition. Couldn't wait so I changed the wheels. Also checket the seatrails for the racing seat i want to get.
[img][/img] Early today I met my real estate agent at a small rental garage. It's not that big but enough! So I took it. It's 200V$ a month. The guys that been here befor left some bits but It may take a couple of hours to get my tools and stuff in. [img][/img] Sadly the engine made some weird sounds on the way and that got even worser on the way home. So instead of putting the suspension in I need to check that. |

Lucky me it was just a loose spark cable.... never work until late night...
So after I fixed this "big" issue I cruised around and some lovely engine sound caught my attention... So I found some guys meeting at a empty parking lot. Stopped by and hang out with these guys a bit. I had a nice chat with Chiung, who ownes that yellow RX3 who told me they will head over to ebisu tommorow. Which sounds more than interesting to me! Well... as I had some stuff to do I headed to a rental and got me a Van to move my stuff to the garage. A quick "brake" at up garage got me a Bride seat, a vertex wheel, hydraulic handbrake and yellow import headlights... puh... money is running fast.... in between I managed to pic up my new plates. I finally managed to bring all the stuff to the garage including the cressida And here I'm.... It's now 2:27 am and I managed to install the "new" suspension, seat and headlights. Just need to finish the handbrake and we're good to go.... to bed! Stuff getting out.... ...to get in... that's it for now.... Finance update 11K VS - 1500V$(suspension, wheels etc.) - 600V$ (seat, vertex, lights) = 8.900V$ left |

A lot of Cressidas coming up lately haha.. Which engine does it have ? Will be interesting to see how well it drifts with stock rear suspension and etc. Check my topic to see my X30 build, maybe you will find something useful there.

# MACKAY : A lot of Cressidas coming up lately haha.. Which engine does it have ? Will be interesting to see how well it drifts with stock rear suspension and etc. Check my topic to see my X30 build, maybe you will find something useful there. It's a 2jz which... I kinda didn't mention ealier. It's not really mentioned in the papers when the swap was done, so I even can't say how many km is on. But it looks clean. I will check your topic for sure! Glad I finished the cressida for ebisu and even catched 4 hours of sleep. Early at morning I picked up my IS-F as the finance deal went through it's a late 2015 model registered in early 2016 with 20.000 km on it. It actually costs 200V$ a month. Nov and Dec are free Benefits of an former Toyota employment... And yes... those wheels... So we made it to Ebisu and guys... had a great day! After I finally removed the strut I was able to clutch-enter. Before I had massive understeer. Which was a real pane... So I blew my 4 old tires and a set I bought for 20V$ at power vehicles. I kinda missed takin pictures much as was setting up the car a while I wasn't driving. And as Mackay thought the basic suspension is a pain. But it worked good enough for this point. During the years I had more tracktime here with my AE86 which I sold before we moved over... anyway. So here my impressions of first time ebisu with the cressida. I also bought a set of Power Vehicles Ultimate Lock kit. for 80V$ which been in a cressida before. After we finished we noticed that Ebisus is holding the D1 next weekend with still open places at the street legal class. If I get the cressida competetive I will try to enter but go there anyway to watch. So back home... Kissed the wall so I need to fix the bumper and get some new backlights.... money, money, money. So Ebisu and all the bits costed me 200V$ overall (Tires, food, fuel, circuitpass, lock kit) Now it's work, work, work, work..... Have a great day Finances: 8.900 - 200 = 8.700 cheers. |

So after a long and great sleep :).... I met with Chiung at my garage. As we seriously want to hit street legal at Ebisu we started to get the cressida ready for the event. He showed up with his dori machine. A Mark 2 X81. And guys... that thing is stunning! The full equipped J1 engine deliveres 300bhp. I hope I get the chance to ride that thing one time.
Thanks to yahoo auctions I got an x-strut which should deliver enough stiffnes to the backend. Thanks to my new buddy my J2 is now equipped with an Greedy Oilfilter (cost of a coffee) and a greedy oilcooler. Just borowed as he need's it for another project. But these should solve me heatproblems I struggled with. At this point the car is stripped. As we need to start welding a rollcage and change the inner roof with fireproof material. I also plan to "dip" the body. Not sure if I do it but that would be the cheapest and surely fastest way to change it's colour Keep you updated |

Yes dip means plastic dipping. You could "paint" a car for roughly 80 to 120 $.
It also just needs a couple of hours to fully dry and you could work with it like after it's dry. We did some nice Iceblue. Pic's I'll send tomorrow. We managed to weld and install the rollcage, after we replaced roof and carpet as you might notice. Now that looks a bit.... stupid with the beige colour of the dash and door panels. So if anyone has an idea to change the beige let me know. Because a used, lefthand dash for a drift missile is kinda waste of money. So now the budget is down to 6,700V$ as I spend 2000 for x-strut, tubes fo rthe cage, dip-paint and bits n pcs. and a couple of pizzas and red bulls for my friend and me. Cheers |

# ErwinFenyvesi23 : lookin' good ! I've heard about plasti-dip before. Are you gonna paint the cage ?I love the cressida I painted the cage black. Spraycan job. Basicly you should get a nice sunshine picture form the cressida with ist's new colour and the modifications.... So I went to the closed mountain road nearby to show off a bit But as you might know... if the car feels right you wanna have some fun. And I had... setup worked out nicely until... ... I wanted too much... and ending up hitting a wall. So that's it with ebisu for sure! After the towing to my garage and a beer.... I check through the backend... the Xbar is bent and went straight through the body, trunkdoor bent, rimlip broken and of course the suspension is bent too.... The bad thing... the cressida used to be my future "card" to get my garage promoted. I might have another beer now and get a Plan B... |

# ErwinFenyvesi23 : ahh man that sucks ! I dunno if that chassis will be straight ever again , but you can try to fix it...Oh yeah, that sucks bad time. Specially as these cressidas are rare.... I'll keep my eyes open if I find a cheap one to fix it. After beers and tears I went to carauctions... Not the best idea after beer but I made a lucky bid on a 1993 S14. It's a R rated one but running and driving. Also got some D-Spec modifications on it. I allways liked those 80's and 90's silvias. Here's auctions link...Link I got it for 168.000V¥ which is around 1.470 V$. Will be towed to the garage today For thoses who might say... "why didn't u take your Cresta?". I got a guy comming up to look at it and maybe I can flip it. Talkin' about beers and auctions. Seems like I got this Aristo for 600 V$.... [img][/img] Link |

Wow both cars were really cheap! However they probably have many problems so you'll have a lot of work.
Also the bumpers on that S14 look pretty beaten up, i can sell you a pair of stock bumpers if you want. |

# Lagano : Wow both cars were really cheap! However they probably have many problems so you'll have a lot of work. You bet so! Regarding those bumpers. Sounds good! How much you ask for them? So... as the towing guys told me they arrive early I got up and went directly to the garage. Also the guy the got interest in the Cresta visited. So he drove it and liked it. After some bargin we endet at (for you in V$) 4.000,- which is fair. As I just spend V$ for new fluids and polish that's 3.800 back in my pocket. You can't calculate the time... Meanwhile I started to take off some bits from the cressida. Actually the straight pipe needs to be replaced form the Xbar. So I can fix that cheap. After lunch the cars arrived, finally. So here is the S14. It's a kuoki frontswap, qhite nice but guys... the paint is kinda 50 shades of black. Front and rear bumper are done! Basicly they're more tape than anything. The RB26 engine started 3rd try but misses Airfilter and radiator. Exhaus is bent and there is at least one hole in the pipe. And boy... it smells on the inside... wow. Good points: nothing important is bent or cracket, nut much rust goin on. But for a former drifter I expected worst! So the supension is completely adjustable and we have some Ksport shocks and springs. Well 3 of 4 are leakinng... The wheels are 18" Gram Lights T57. On direzzas. The rims are good condition. Need some love and they're good. The Direzzas are totally done! All of them. On the inner its a 350 Nardi Deep corn, powder coated. The leather on it is still nice and after some cleaning it might be good as new. Rest is stock, no radio and a lot of holes left where gauges have been. I won't forget to mention the Aristo. Electrics are dead, even after i swapped the battery. Not more to say. O well it is dirty and nasty but sitting on 17" fifteen52 tarmacs. It looks like it's 258000km. Finanzes update: (sorry kind amiss to post that.) 6,700V$ - 80,- (for towing the cressia) + 3.800V$ for the Cresta - 2.070,- (for s14 & aristo) - 250,- V$ fees and towing = 8.100,- V$ I offer the following: Set (4) of black 18" Gram Lights Ask for 300$V incl. some shitty direzzas Nardi deep corn black 350mm 80mm offset Ask for 120V$ Sorry just screenshots from my insta... It's late... good night |

Just a quick one.
This morning I stripped the body and put a load of paint remover on it. That stuff is absolutely toxic! But seemes to work. Meanwhile I headed to Upgarage to get some "new" parts. As I did some grafix for the hoodwrap, I picked pic that up at the printer as well. Afterwords I picked up some fenders I got from yahoo auctions. Right now I'm having a break and waiting for chiung... Finances: Paintremover: -80V$ Headlights: -188V$ LED Taillights: -264V$ Tomei Exhaustsystem: -760V$ HKS Sparkplugs: -30V$ Spraycans: -35V$ Sealkit for Shocks: -60V$ Fluids: -80V$ Steelfenders: -400V$ Foil: -200V$ =6.003V$ (If you think my prices are to low, klick on the items and you will find aktuall yahoo auction "bynow" items. ) |

So that's it for today guys. Wrapped the Seat too which looks quite nice I think.
As I ain't got the right tools and knowledge I brought the RB26 to a local tuningshop. The told me I should get it back by friday as the had gap to fill because of anothe customer didn't show up. Good for me but that will put a big hole in my pocket. Anyway... I took the wheels of and replaced the nardi with my vertex. New Tail lights installed. Until Friday I'll take care on the aristo to get it sells ready. Enjoy Cheers |

# Sleepin mOnkey : Nice rides dudethx buddy! So yesterday I finished the "paintjob" and the S14 got towed to SELFIT for the clear coat. Rest of the day I fixed the Aristo. A defective fusebox caused the main failure so that was fixed cheap. Cleaned it and changed the fluids. At UpGarage I got badges for grill and trunk, "new" headlights and a set of very good conditioned HRE 18"s. Spend all in all 980 V$. So that's than 1580,- for a sweet running Aristo. Putted it on GooNet and got so requests. We'll see. So it's early Friday here in Japan and I'm heading towards Yashio to see Lagano. On the way back I'll stop in Nikkō to grap a set of 18" work seeker cx i got at yahoo for 1.292 V$. It's on tires so could go straight to the S14. |

# Sleepin mOnkey : put the aristo on uber and afther a little start drifting each corner you can just for fun.Haha, would be funny for sure. So as I spend most of the time on the road today (better say yesterday as it's 2:48 am here) not much changes on cars. I managed my way to Lagano for swapping stuff. The bumpers where in almost perfect condition so thanks for that. Surely we had a chat and I hope we'll meet again soon. As mentioned, I stopped at Nikko to pic up wheel for the s14. Also Everything went just fine. Except I really struggled with getting all the stuff inside the IS. So on my way home I called the lexus shop and asked if I could turn the IS in something more... usefull for my buiseness. So we'll see tomorrow. So I got back to Chiungs garage as he brought the Silvia to his place as the engine will arrive there tomorrow. Yeah! I had to leave quick, as a guy wanted to check out the Aristo. So... it's sold. Got 3.500 V$ for it. I hoped for more but I was too exhausted from the day so I'm just happy I could make some quick money. Back at C's place I couldn't beleve my eyes as he dipped the bumpers in black and installed them (well not propper just to see how the turn out). We planned to install the wheels, but until now we had a couple of beers and a lot of talk. So... more tomorrow, good night! Finances: 6.003V$ -50V$ fuel -1.292V$ wheels -40V$ beers/food -980V$ aristo parts +3.500V$ aristo =7.141V$ |

Let's update this...
So, started early this morning. Wheels are on and of course I need some spacers for the rear ones. (Upgarage her I come) Engine arrived and those 2.500 V$ for the rework are very well invested. It's now complete on new sealings and coils are reworked. It's a small turbocharger (had original 5.000 km on it so almost new). The Intercooler is not yet installed. I love the custom covers in Neo Chrome with the Tomai plate Some more arrived this morning... Stay tuned. So a view things happened so far. After the long chat with chiung (I mentioned that before) we combined our shops and I moved to his workshop. So I pay the same rent but the location is way better and the is more space. We call it Hardtuned Garage. We went to a Salvage Auction, basicly just to browse... but I got this beast. Toyota Altezza RS Bad front crash. We inspected carefully and agreed it's worth a try. Maaaaany aftermarket parts. But It needs a looooooot of love. -2.265V$ As I don't have the budged now... maybe some of you are interessted in a year 2000 RX7FD3S It's slightly damaged on the front and you might need to replace the airbag cover in the dash but it's worth a project. They ask for 3.170 V$ Engine works! 7.141V$ -2.500v$ engine -2.265V$ altezza = 2.376V$ |

If you're able to read you avoid misstakes...
We went to Ebisu, but someone (us) got the wrong date. Of course there was no action at Ebisu at all. Ok except free Drifting. So we had some chats and I managed to take some pics. It's not drift able yet as the setup is just for the streets. (massive understeering). That engine.... So we're back at the shop and waiting for some friend comming by. Cheers (OFF RP: I needed to change the wheels as the Seeker keep crashing my game :() |
