Time to start something new.
My name's Jo, 29 years old and currently living in "Murica" in a town called Elpaso.
I moved over to America 6 months ago after getting a job opportunity. Ofc i left everything behind me in Belgium to chase my dreams. "Dreams? What dreams?" i hear you think. Well for starters living in America, and secondly building a street legal American Muscle Dragracer.
At this moment i'm cruising around in a Dodge Omni with a 338 smallblock ( 600K miles so it's a matter of time before i blow it )

The car:
Bought it with a scrapper label on it. Suspension shot and somehow it had a bullethole in the roof ( guess some cowboy went yippykayee mothefucker in it ) and it was missing a couple of bodyparts.

2 months later and it's a running techchecked car. I replaced the shocks and springs, filled up the bullethole etc.

Future plans:
NON. Simply cuz i needed the ride to get to my job every day :D
(Future car?)
(Whenever i get the opportunity i'll buy a good American oldschool ride and put my money in it)

Finances:
With all that's left of my savings ( rental house, furniture etc ) i bought the Omni and it's replacement parts. got 15K left so there's where my finances start.

Man I can't wait to see what you get! When I was in America for a few weeks, I was gonna get a muscle car but instead I had to get somethingmore useful for my team, so instead I got a muscle truck.
But my guess with 15k your gonna get a... idk I wanted to say a camaro or chevelle ss but, those cars complete are way more than 15k.. so I think your gonna get a beat up mustang?

# MyNameisJeff : a camaro or chevelle ss

That's the right direction, i was thinking of a chevelle or a nova. Maybe older Charger with a scrapper label on it.

Well if it's a coke bottle shaped charger... one of those at the junkyard with nothing but rust, is like 5-10k And parts are pretty expensive cuz dem mopar fellers charge alot for what they have at swap meets... especially on a charger! But chargers are cool, one of my favorite cars ever but personally, I think you need to save up for one as a later car... Or just wait on a good deal..
A Nova is pretty cheap, even in good condition, a regular 350 automatic with minimum rust, is $8000... I'd imagine u would take the old engine out and sell it and put a big block with a 4/5/6 speed manual...
Chevelles are cool cars! You could probably find a ss in that price in decent shape, but if u want to save u could get a non-ss..

Added 42 seconds later:

(P.S I could help you find a muscle car on Craigslist if you want for ur rp, it's fine if u say no)

I understand, I like what you did with the Omni, saved it's life and bringing it back! But what engine u planning to put in next, and did you test it in the 1/4 mile and what are your goals for this car? (Imma stop spamming in your thread by pm'ing you more lol)

lol no worries. Well basicaly i have no plans for the Omni, it will stay my home-job-home car. But since it has 600K miles on the block, it will die on me sooner than i hope. When it dies, im in search for the dragger i want to build and i take that car's stock engine and swap it in the Omni since know what crateblock i want for the dragger.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!! Went for a fillup on the Omni this morning and my god i saw a dirty pearl sitting between 2 buildings. For all can figure out of it, it's a 68 Chevelle with a 383 in it. Also a cool feature of the car is i spot remainings of a far forgotten dragracer history on it. The engine was covered with a tarp but the interior ( or whatever is left of it ) is gone due thiefs and weather. I went back to the fuel station and asked info about the car owner. It belongs to an old guy living in Sparks ( 5 minutes from where i work ) but they didnt had contact info on this man. What brightened up my day was the fact that they knew he was coming by every week to fuel up his truck and buy sigarets so i told the dude behind the desk to leave him my contactinfo so he could call me.

Got the call!! There's good news, there is bad news and there's weird news.
The good news first:

- The car is up for sale AND the engine was running when the owner left it for sale 8 years ago.
- It's a second owner car, wich means not that many idiots screwed around with it.

The bad news now:

- The car is in a horible state, not fuly wasted but still it's gonna require alot of money to get it street worthy.
- The engine is missing alot of parts, eventhough it was covered underneed a tarp, the engine needs alot of love.
- The body got rear ended in it's glory years, the man who owned it first repared it but it's a complete shitshow. ( reason why Dan, the current owner, sells it)

The weird news...:

- It has a registration VIN-number wich brings me back to a Chevelle SS track car but Historic cars VIN system shows me 2 cars, a regular Chevelle with a small block and a Chevelle SS Bigblock Stockcar, wich was added in 1971 while Dan bought the car in 1969.
- It has a couple of strange weldingspots in the interior. By the looks it could have been a makeshift rollcage but still it's on weird places.

Dan askes 5K V$ for it, i told him i need time to think ( read further investigation on the numbers ).

After confronting Dan, he explained me a couple of things.
First of all: The VIN number.

What i found out is correct, he bought the car as an original small block, green chevelle. After 3 months he got rearended by a drunk driver and desided to flip the concept ( he was planning on keeping it bone stock :troll: ) and transform it to a full blown Chevelle SS with a bigblock etc. After the car been finished it got it's VIN# for a SS.

Race history:

After years and years beeing used on a daily base, he bought a newer car and gave it to his son, wich on his turn gave it to his kid. The kid grew up and desided to make a makeshift rolecage in it and dirtrace it ... Foolish kid ...

How did it end up how it's sitting now?

After Dan found out his grandson went dirtracing with it, he instantly claimed back what's his. The car was in a bad shape, interior gutted, dents, broken parts etc. He tried to fix it again but quickly gave up due his age, his job as a trucker and also his health.

What did i do?

I negotiate for 3 hours straight with dan about his price, showed his fast rendered pics and images from google what my plans are and convinced him with previous builds. He gave in on 2500 AND a ride along when it's finished.

Got a full week off due the low ammount of work. Wich means a full week of work on the car ( mostly patching up stuff wich doesn't require ordering parts.

What does Le Shadow done allready?

Patched up the body, grinded down all rust, welded up holes and bondo'ed all dents and pulled the engine.
A one day job as they say.

What does one still have to do?

Undo the horrible welding inside and underneed the car, remove all junk ( read rotten wires and the kind of shit ) from the inside of the car.

What did Le Shadow ordered?

New headers/headgaskets, small suspension parts ( bushings, tierods and lower suspention arms ), new engine mounts and i placed an order on the local junkyard for a dashboard since this one looks like it was shewed up, shitted out and formed again to something that looks like a dashboard.

The suspensionparts should be here around monday. Got shit to build and i'm damn happy about it.

Aight, a week has gone by and i did a few things to the Chevelle.
To start i finished up the bad welding ( cut it out and welded in original parts wich i cutted out of a floor of a wrecked SS on the junkyard ) and did more bondo and primering. Nothing real worthy to make pics of.

Monday = partsday

The suspension came in. For once everything was in the package so i could build a first setup. Now keep in mind, this is a temperary setup because i'll go dragracer ( read: shocks, springs, crossbars etc )

Now i can see you thinking. RIMS AND WILWOODS????? YES is the answer. Did i bought them? NO, i borrow them from a co-worker. ( Dont ask about the collors, i gave the 4 rims that were on SS back to the junkyard. )

Junkyard = partsparadise

As i previously said, i ordered a dashboard on the junkyard, they would call me when a chevelle came in with a good dashboard and my luck is on the high end these days. Not only the dashboard was in very good condition, the entire interiour was in good condition. Since i ordered one, i got the first pick on it.
Came home with a Omni filled up asif it was an 18wheeler :D
Dashboard, doorpannels, floorcarpet, rear pannels, roofliner+vinyl, carpets and so on and on and on.

Tomorrow = Workday

I got to haul my ass back to work tomorrow. That means the works on the Chevelle are slowed down again. Still waiting for engine parts wich will take some time. I'll jump in at the local rollcage builder to see if i can get my hands on a good rollcage.

Again 7 days past and i got a bit of work done to the Chevelle.

For starters, the rolecage dude came by, custom fabricated a sick rollcage for the Chevelle. You might wonder " but shadowtuner why did he came by? " Well i did something wrong with the brakes and the car doesnt move :D.
Ahum ...
Anyway, back on the rollcage. It's a full racing cage, yet streetlegal due no crossbars behind the front seats and it's fuly detachable.

As i was waiting for the man to finish his awsome work, the package delivery company stopped by. I found set of original fenders on ebay, never painted, just a small amount of rust but hey, nothing we cant fix tho.

All went well untull Thuesday ... i recieved the engineparts and while i was trying to figure out how i was gonna install them, i figured out that the engine needs some professional love. I got no equipment to work on the pistons and rods.
Made some calls and i found a shop specialised in streetrace engines not far from the mexican border. I might drop it off there and let them make it ready to install all the mods i got in mind.

IT HAPPENED

I blew the engine ... More specificly, i blew piston 2 and 3 straight through the hood, piston 1 straight down in to the ground underneed the engine and the other pistons are somewhere inside the engine.

NOW WHAT?

I managed to arange with my boss i could use one of the worktrucks. Nothing special, just a small block extended cab GMC ( unless you like a dirty, beatup and busted GMC tho ).
I can use it a for a week but i allready absolutely HATE it! It's slow, huge and broken. The search for a temperary beater has allready started.

The truck ... THE FRICKING TRUCK had to go! Got sick and tired of it X-(
I found a beater tho, a Silvia S13 with damage. The kid i bought if from said " i spinned out ".
Anyway

THE SPECS

Like i said: An Aztec Red 1990 240sx S13 with charcoal gray interior ( read seats ). Yes that is all original, the paint is a bit worn off by the sun.
Previous owner did some good things to it tho, it has a Keyis Racing steering wheel, Bride pannels, roofpannel and floormats in it, wich are a good to even allmost new condition.
It has a bonestock 2JZ-GE in it with around 150K miles on the clock, he only replaced the cooler with a real HKS intercooler cuz the stock one was pissing liquids.
It runs on H&R Street Performance coils and shocks, original teardrops and BFGoodrich G-force sports.
Last but not least, it has one hell of a loud farcan underneed it wich will be thrown in the trashbin ASAP!

WHATS WRONG WITH IT?

Honestly? Only the left front camplate shattered, gonna cost me around 50 V$ for a plate.
Besides that not realy something that needs to be fixed before i can use it on the road.

WILL YOU KEEP IT?

I honnestly dont know. IF it runs good i might aswell keep it because it's MPG will be drasticaly lower than the Chevelle and the Omni. But in case of me keeping this beater, the omni will be sold and the money will be used to patch up the s13.

YOU GOT PICS?

Yes i do.

I bought it for 400 V$. This was bought with the money i use for the Chevelle

More updates on the Chevelle will be uploaded on the usual day of the week.

Been a while, longer than i wished it was tho but hey, here we are again.

THE CHEVELLE SS

Engine's in at the engineshop, that's all i can say because that's all that changed since last time. I'm scouting the internet for parts but so far nothing realy cool popped up that was affortable.

THE S13

I did a rundown on the bugger, turned out just a bent tierod ( or how ever you write it ) so that was an easy fix, found a stock one in the garage :D.

Ofc i did a beatdown on it to see if it acts funny. Nothing weird, beside a bit of wheelhop on the rear right wheel.

SHIT WENT WRONG

The only damn thing i didnt checked was the quality of the tires... And guess what? Popped the left front tire.
Broke the fender and the front bumper even more.

SHE'S BACK ON THE ROAD

Fast ordering like an adict buys crack, Ebay was my friend last friday.

That's all i got... Not gonna make the RP about the S13. For now she's just a beater that brings me from A to B. The fender and bumper were 50 V$ each, i opened up my old piggybank for that.

Dear god it's been a while :o

Let's dive straight in it!

The Omni, What's up with that?

Well i had an opportunity wich i simply couldnt resist. I saw an add on the webs about a set of brand new American Dragstar rims WITH! Goodyear Dragsemi slicks on them. Contacted the seller and offered him the Omni ( i was joking at first ... ) and the dude instantly said YES. Turned out his passed away dad used to drive one of them, not just a regular one but a Saleen edition. His plan is to restore and rebuild my Omni in the near future. Allways glad when i see a car end up having a good future.

The look so sexy on the chevelle <3

The Chevelle. WHERE THE FUCK IS THE ENGINE????

Well, it's right here.. Brought it back home yesterday ( yes that's why i update this RP ). The guys over at Dosanto's Street Mods aka DSM did one hell of a job! The completly restored the engine to how it was back in it's glorydays ( including the paint and stuff ). I instantly installed the engine back where it belongs just to see how it fits and my god it fits perfect. Keep in mind, the engine and car needs to go back AFTER i installed a couple of mods to it. Just to finetune etc.

Well than mister Shadow, what's next?

Basicaly just ordering bumpers, seats and windows. I want this baby painted as fast as posible so i can work on the engine. Like said above, the engine AND car will go back to DSM to finetune and dyno it so i gotta have the exterior finished first.

It's gonna be a short one today guys. 3 things to talk about: Tires, Lights and Rockers + upgrades

TIRES

I found a set of matching Firestone Drag 500's for a rather cheap price on the interwebz earlier this week. Decided to take the S13 for a spin and went over the dude's place ( somewhere in 15 min drive distance from where i live ) to check them out.
They were in a MINT condition, only used one day but they were to wide for this dude. Coughed up 500 V$ and loaded them in. ( Yes it was a funny sight, more tire than car in the S13 :D )

LIGHTS

Nothing special, i went to the local junkyard to pick up some rear lights, bone stock red 68 lights.

Rockers

Hmm i recall myself saying " The engine goes back to DSM to modify it " 10 days ago ...
Well ... i decided to try and do some stuff myself. I bought some Magnem Gold Rockers and threw them in. The only hard part was putting the right amount of torque on the screws but i managed to get it sorted out.

My appoligies for the lack of uploading, there's simply not much i can do due work and deliverance time of parts.
Im thinking of throwing the S13 in the RP aswell to get some stuff to upload tho.

Oh boy ...
Lot's of stuff happened ... To start of with:

The Garage

As mentioned in the beginning of this RP, i was renting a small house of a friend ( and a place in his garage aswel ). Now due me being pissed as fuck i will not go further into detail but we split our roads and i found a new place WITH a sick backgarden + 3 garageboxes (See red circle at pics in spoiler.

THE CHEVELLE

Well ... that's a different story, the Chevelle was sitting in his garage during the fight wich makes it for me impossible to go take it on a trailer. I went to the police and they will take care of it in the future. Up till the moment the SS AND it's parts are in my garage, this RP will take a slight different turn.

WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO THAN?

Well, im gonna take the S13 and repare/upgrade it. The driver's side was a mess due the crash and the exploded front tire, so i tore it appart and ordered parts on ebay.

THE S13 UPGRADES

To many pics to post for it so i'll make a spoiler with them in it. I picked up a used driverside door at the junkyard for 20V$. I went for a full supermade bodykit, found one on ebay for dirtsheap ( used ), 500 V$ for the front and rear bumper and the skirts.
Also due the crash the fenders were trash and lucky for me, the same guy who was selling his bodykit, he also had wide front fenders and wide rear bolt on fenderplates for sale. I paid 200 V$ for the fenders, add the rear lights to it for 30 V$ and my ride is ready for painting. (wich will be soon-ich, once im moved in into my new crib )
