Hinata's story-based Roleplaymay contain traces of nuts...Greetings, people and welcome to my very own roleplay thread! First off, let me tell you something about myself. I'm a 20 year old German guy, living near Olpe, Northrhine-Westphalia. That's in the West of Germany and it's a pretty nice place to live in. I am in the third year of an apprecticeship to become a mechanic at a local Honda dealership and service workshop. I usually got to work by bus, but that has changed a few days ago, as I finally bought myself my very first own car! I saved up since 9th grade at school, and I managed to get to a solid V$ 20.000! Enough to get myself a proper vehicle. But as I am a car nut as y'all, the reasonable choice is not the first one. But you can feel free to read all about that below. And that's how I got my hands on a Miata! Thanks for taking the time to read this. I got the main inspection just 2 days ago and am now waiting for my plates to legally drive the car. I'm also looking for all kinds of parts for the NA Miata, aswell as whatever could be useful. I will also gladly take advice and suggestions. Have a great weekend and cheers! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This post was edited by Hinata23 (2016-09-06 18:00, ago) |

Thanks, guys! Well, I have to say that I found some rust on the underbody. Nothing major, but still needs some treatment. Tomorrow I will lift it and see how bad it is. I believe that I made a very good deal but there's also a ton of work ahead of me. Already asked my boss if I can use the lifts in the shop after work, and he agreed
Does anyone in here have some experience with rust work or with Mazdas in general? |

Dortmund isn't far from here, could go there with the mate who went to Bolzano with me or just wait until I get my plates. Can you PM me a vague address or something? Would love to check it out. |

So, just for a small update:
The plates have arrived and I also ordered some parts from Doge's Dope Shop, even though their online presence is down. Only some toold, though. But I might just go for some first parts soon, too. In case anyone has parts that I could use, no matter what kind of thing, just feel free to shoot me some offers |

Soo, the past 3 days have been a LOT of work. My dad helped me inspect every angle of the car and look for possible problems and rust hotspots. Luckily, we hardly found a thing! The car did receive some rust treatment before, and it's been a garage car, after all!
So, after checking the whole thing in my dad's garage (which I may use now to work on the Miata), I took the roof off. And I will sell it, if anyone is interested, even though I doubt anyone of y'all is currently a Miata owner. Might aswell keep it for whenever there's a chance to get a good price for it. It's in great condition, after all. If you are interested, you could get it for V$220 o.n.o. Next thing to do was to attach my new plates and to get rid of the Mazdaspeed replica wheels. The ones I bought from Starsky arrived and we put on some okay-ish tires my dad had lying around. It's not for long, so they're okay. While I was doing that, my dad decided to install the decorative part I ordered from an online shop (V$25). A Domokun for the rear view mirror. I just love it. We also built some cardboard teeth for the front bumper, because I had seen them on another car in an online forum for Miata owners. So, this is how it looks now. I'm happy with what we managed to get done this weekend and I am looking forward to my first legal spin on the road, which I will take tomorrow. |

Is it running yet?
Shame i didnt see it in time, otherwise i would've suggested to keep the italian plate as they cannot check if you paid taxes or not on them(being a foreigner plate) and thus you'd have saved some money off it |

Yes, it's been running fine all the time. Just stalled it once after taking it to Germany.
And well, I like to have personalized plates anyways, and the Italian plate system is just plain boring. Going on letter by letter and number by number.. Also, just went on my first legal drive. These pictures have been taken at around 8 pm, and it looks so nice in the dark. It gets windy though, since the top is off, but at least it's warm. Had a blast driving the car today. Hello there! How cool is this? I finally found a sleepy eyes kit for the Miata in Germany, and it wasn't even that expensive! I paid V$80 for it. But before that, I also bought the black softtop from Renaruto (V$200) and I found a fucktail-ish spoiler on ebay (V$190) that turned out to look pretty nice, and it was easily fitted to the car. What do you guys think? Also, I'm not sure about whether to go for JDM wheels or some less expensive stuff. And offers or ideas for rims that are not as expensive? |

That miata is dope :3....Hmmmm maybe 15" replica of some JDM rims or even original JDM 15" rims would fit perfectly, or even 14" RS Watanabe Type A :3

# Hinata23 : I found a fucktail-ish spoiler on ebay I think you mean ducktail. It fits well on your Miata, you could get some BBS rims cause they're probably easy to find in Germany. And just curious: What did you actually get when you bought a sleepy eye kit? What does it look like? |

# Lagano : I think you mean ducktail. It fits well on your Miata, you could get some BBS rims cause they're probably easy to find in Germany. No, it was totally intended. Because ducktails are overdone (even though they usually look good). And those kits are pretty much only a set of hinges, that limit the angle the headlights open up. I got one that is adjustable with a remote, since it's usually illegal to have them open only halfway. I can press a button and they jump up to normal angles in case of sudden cops, but I usually drive them with the stock anglem because otherwise they don't do their job, as in lighting out the street ahead. They are only there for design purposes, until I get some better lights, that are meant for sleepy eyes. |

So, quite some time has passed now, and a lot of things happened to my Miata!
Since I had the new wing mounted, the car ooked kinda weird, as the paint was missing and the body was generally bleached quite a lot. So I went to a local paintshop (a friend of mine works there so I get stuff a little cheaper) to get the paint off and add some base coat. I didn't decide on a color yet, so I just left it that way. The one thing I disliked about this car was the suspension, as it was just not stiff enough and I did receive quite some lean in most turns. So I looked around for a set of shocks and springs, and quickly found an offer on ebay for a Koni suspension setup that had been mounted to an NB Miata, but was exchanged for a Tein one. The condition was good, according to the seller and he asked V$1000 for it. I could deal him down to V$920 in the end, but I believe that it was a pretty good deal for both of us. My dad helped me install them as soon as they arrived. Last thursday I got an offer from a workmate to buy his original (!) Salad Shooter Corvette wheels and I just couldn't resist. He sold them to me for V$900 and I got a set of Toyo tires for V$180. The following friday was the day I finally got the Miata painted, and I decided on a cool custom blue color that my friend and I mixed up at the shop. And on saturday I went to Cologne to visit another mate, using the opportunity to drive the car thorugh a city and snapped some pictures of my car aswell. What do you think? |
