Hell yeah, can't wait to see what you end up coming up with. You should be able to find something real nice and clean out there. It's hard to own an import in NY. had to get mine from Raleigh, NC. The salt on our roads eats cars alive, so rust is a big problem.

@Phonexius: Thanks man! The engine hasn't been dyno'd since the last owner hadit. So I'm not real sure on what I'm making as far as power goes. Probably a little less than it originally made. The whole motor was built by rawbrokerage.com with full pro specs so it's definitely built to have a good amount of power! I can get a spec list if you want.
@Pinter03:Hahaha Thankfully the turbo is still in tact and running strong! It's definitely going to be a mess when it does decide to go though haha. I honestly love the steering angle, I was real skeptical at first but after giving it a shot I don't know if I can go back to stock. I can come into a corner pretty much reverse and be able to pull it back or hold it without a problem. Feels so good! Plus it's nice to know that if I make a mistake I have a wayyyyyyy better shot of correcting it. All I had to do was install the Wisefab Nissan S13 Lock Kit. Not cheap but I think they're definitely worth the buy. This post was edited by FamousMan (2016-03-22 10:57, ago) |

Little check in for you guys.
Met a new friend while driving around today. He drives a really sick 1.5 JZ Swapped RHD Silvia S13 imported straight from Japan. We went for a nice little cruise and he showed me a lot of cool back roads that are perfect for drifting. (had more shots but I'm not real happy with how they turned out) I'm also selling my GS300. I love the car but I don't give it the attention it deserves. I thought I would have been done way more to it by now but I haven't even touched it or bothered to get it registered and put on the road. If you're interested let me know, i'd like to see it go to a good home. |

So i've been away for a little bit. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to show you guys but don't worry. Nothing has really changed on the 240. I sold the GS300/ Aristo and a lot of my possessions In order to buy a plane ticket and to import my car into Japan. I'm going to be flying out to the Aichi Prefecture to meet up with the // Nine Fiasco // Crew. Which should take roughly 20 hours. Since I'm going to be waiting for my car for about 2 weeks to arrive to the port. I'll most likely be using one of the crew members cars for the time being.
If you're in Japan please contact me. I'm going to need someone to show me around and get me all situated. |

The first few days of my Japan experience has been nothing but incredible! When I first arrived I met up with Marcus and the rest of the 9Fiasco crew. They showed me around town, and introduced me to some of the local car scene guys. Cars over here are insane!
The next day we traveled to the Ebisu circuit for Matsuri. Marcus let me rip his 1.5 JZ S14 for the day which was a blast! It drives great and could not have asked for a better "rental" car while I wait for my own to come in from the port. Should be about a week in a half or so still |

Thanks man!
I went and looked at a car yesterday. It was a LHD Nissan Fairlady 370Z Z34 with Nismo Skirts and Rear bumper. With a VR38DETT taken from a 2010 Nissan GTR. I really liked the car, it drove amazingly better than I expected. It does have some paint scuffs, and STOCK as fuck suspension, as well as a set of Enkei wheels. It's definitely something i'm going to consider. I just don't want to have to drop a bunch of money into a new car, I want to be able to buy something and not have to work on it mechanically for a while. I still have a few more cars to look at, I just figured I'd show you some of the ones that I do look at. This post was edited by FamousMan (2016-04-08 05:45, ago) |

I HAVE MY CAR BACK!
Picked it up this morning and haven't been able to stop driving it around! I'm not exactly legal, so i've been sticking to back roads and lesser traveled roads. As you can see I have an early version of a Type X kit on. I had these painted and installed just before I left valo. I also have a genuine 326 power wing that goes with it. I just haven't gotten around to putting it on yet, which I will do later and snap a picture for you guys. This post was edited by FamousMan (2016-04-09 19:52, ago) |

# Starsky : Nice bro :3Thanks man! # Lagano : Looking good, still low af. When did you get that new bodykit? Thanks man! Forever low! haha I surprisingly rarely scrape anything though. I got the front bumper from a place called CarID, it was V$277.18 plus shipping, the skirts along with the rear bumper I got off eBay (hate doing) for V$330 plus shipping. The wing was made to order from RHDJapan, I bought it a few weeks before I left valo with intentions of picking it up in Japan. The price was crazy, but managed to talk to someone and barter it down because I was planning on picking it up. Originally it was ¥45,333 which is roughly 7 grand in USD. Keep in mind that this is a GENUINE MADE TO ORDER 326 Power wing. The final price I paid was about ¥35,000 which is about $5,400. # klucifers : Really cool, 2 tone would look awesome. Thanks man! I would honestly love two tone, i've considered it multiple times. If I get a Silvia Coupe It'll definitely be two tone. |

So I hate Shaken (vehicle inspection in Japan). Been hard at work downgrading the 420sx so it will pass vehicle inspection here. They're very strict about some things. And very expensive with fees. I was able to pick up some stock bumpers and a set of steelies from one of the 9F crew members. Also threw the stock seats and wheel back in just to be cautious. I pulled my over fenders off as well, because she was pretty wiiiide and I wasn't sure if it would pass qualifications. I left the 326 running gear on but raised the ride height for both the front and back. I'm also hoping i'll be able to pay off the inspector to look past all of my window stickers. If not I have a pretty decent back up plan.
I also put a godfather musical horn in. Which needs to be re-wired because it will randomly go off. Pretty funny the first few times, but it gets annoying. If you're unfamiliar or don't know, the process of the shaken involves these steps: Anyway here's how she looks right now. Stock as hell! Just hoping all the hard work pays off and I'm able to get this thing legal over here. Once legal, the transformation back will begin! |

This seems kinda pointless to me... you make a car stock just to pass this inspection and then you can do anything with it? I already saw some cars with ridiculous camber and shit, but they were registered.

No, you make your car stock ish to pass inspection, then you lower it back down again in hopes that police won't notice.

Oh... so it's not legit then. Do you do this because it costs more to inspect any upgrades on the car? In Europe it's like this.

The inspection system is in place to ensure that vehicles on Japanese roads are properly maintained and are safe to be on the road. Another reason is to determine if a vehicle has been illegally modified. Illegally modified vehicles and vehicles deemed unsafe will have a red sticker with the following: fuseikaizousha (Illegal Vehicle) in yellow and the date the vehicle was declared not fit to be on the street. Some upgrades are allowed, I just didn't want to take the risk.
My car would have been considered illegally modified and unsafe to be on the street (according to some of the shaken requirements stated above). In which case I'd be risking getting it exported, or destroyed and recycled. And it already costs quite a bit to actually get it to be looked over by an inspector. I have to pay the following. Paperwork fee Inspection fee Compulsory vehicle insurance Vehicle weight tax For a new registration there are also additional fees for registration and number plates. Once passed it's good for 3 years though! |

I see you found out a lot about all this stuff. It's good to know what you can do and what you can't. So basically, when you get your car registered there, you're all good.

For the most part! I'll still probably get ticketed quite a bit, but it beats risking my car being destroyed.
