NAME: Tom
AGE: 19 COUNTRY: Latvia JOB: Mechanic at a public woorkshop HOBBY: riding bmx and working on cars Recently i bought my first project car, it's a 1993 JDM s13/180sx hatch with an sr20de swap, witch i bought for 2300V$ it currently has an sr20DE with a blown head gasket. The car has 132'000 km on the shell and accordingly to the previous owner 10'00 on the engine, the valve cover has been painted with a spray can and rust is showing through, the car also has an ebay steering wheel and hub. It's also sitting on some ebay coils. It has some paint issues, the front of the car is different tones of black and the rear is bodyworked but not painted. My plans with the car is to make it into a driftable daily or like a daily drifter. Some picctures of the car: Thanks for reading! |

OH HELLOIn the time that i was away i was moving to an appartament in an another town with my friend (closer to work) , soo i decited to get rid of one of my two cars , i chose to sell my daily driver, a 1999 opel astra sedan 1.6 , soo now i'm dailying the s13. That means the s13 build is gonna slow down and be more suttle because the car needs to be reliable soo i can drive the car to work and back without any problems. I still want a car that i can practise drifting with and don't worry about messing it up.. Soo i picked up this peace pictures: Thi car is a 1995 bmw 318is witch i bought for 500V$ with a running M42B18, the car is a little rusty bellow butt it's a drift car soo it dosn't quite matter. i sold the engine right away because i wanted to try something diffrent, the engine and gearbox were sold together for 200V$, also bought used front fenders for 100V$. Now i have a small work space to keep the e36 at and work at it. Economy Front fenders : -100 e36 : -500 Sold M42b18 : +200 Sold Opel Astra : +1000 |

SR SWAPToday i managed to find an sr20 and a gerbox locally for 1500V$ together, gearbox - 250V$, sr20det - 1250V$. As we got home, me and my room mate Rob, we inspected the sr, and generally the engine was really clean. Since Rob is a fabricator, he fabbed up some sr mounts for the e36. And we started the swap, we lowered the engine in the car and bolted it up. Then i attached the manifolds, injectors and turbo, Rob started making the piping for the turbo, after that and hooking the lines up the car ran! Pictures from today: Tomarrow we will fab up a drive shaft and the car will be rolling.. hopefully. economy sr20 gearbox : -250 sr20det engine : -1250 |

STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A CARAs said, today we cut and wellded the drive shaft to the right lenght (Didn't take any pictures). Found a local guy that was selling an m3 bodykit for 300v$ and taillights for 50v$, he also had a spare non-m right mirror and the pannel that houses the kidney grills, i got them both for 40V$. When i arrived home i put on the bumpers, mirror and side shirts. Also put on the old ebay wheel from the 180sx, and put on a koyorad radiator witch i got yesterday for 150V$. We welded a straight pipe from the downpipe to the rear and holy Sh*t the car is soo loud . The guy i got the bmw stuff from, he parts out e36 and his name is Peter i believe. pictures: When the car was together we took it for a drive, and man the car rips! Rob took some photos: economy koyorad radiator : -150 driveshaft : 0 (modified the old one) straight pipe : - (had the metal) steering wheel : 0 (already had) taillights : -50 m3 kit : -300 mirror : -20 kidney grill pannel : - 20 |

# Weedz : I wanted to something diffrent and unique, like how often do you see an sr20 e36?There was only one SR20 E36 here until now, so you made a good choice. Even if i see many SRs here it looks really cool in a BMW! |

STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A CARMy plans for the e36 all along were to make it a clean street car, and that means having all the panels and good looking paint. soo i got the front end situated, i got kidney grills and headlights with turn signals for 120V$. Also got a rear window installed for 450V$. Every drift car needs coilovers, soo i got NEW H&R street performance coilovers for 900V$. As i didn't want the car to look like a rubik's cube, i wanted to paint it all black. Bofore i was planning to paint the car with spray paint, butt later i decited to get the car professionally painted and that costed me 800V$. After loocking at the engine bay i wanted something interesting soo i got the valve cover hydro dipped a camo patern. My wheel choise was simple, just look what's cheap locally, and i got a set of cosmis racing xt-206 wheels in r18/9, freshly painted this cyan colour, they came with tyres and i got them for 1200V$. some photos: Economy paintjob : - 800 H&R street performance coils : -900 headlights with signals : -100 kidney grills : -20 rear window : - 300 rear window installation : - 150 cosmis racing xt-206 wheels with tyres : -1200 valve cover hidro Dyp : -30 |
