There's a region-specific reason why I and 11K picked SR20 for a perfect alternative for the E36's original motor. A32 Cefiro was "kinda imported" by Samsung Motors back in late 1990s, with the joint venture between Nissan and Samsung, produced in Korea.   Unlike Maxima and Cefiro having VQ engine layout, one particular trim, which offered 2.0 SR engine, was the best selling trim back in the days. VQ-engine trim was offered as more luxurious variant of the same model, while SR-engine trim was more reliable and mainstream, and affordable sedan.  Of course tuners really liked having mostly identical engine block with Silvia. And it was easy to get and get it fixed. And since it has been more than a decade since released, it is really easy to get the entire car for under V$2500. I am waiting for 11K to show the perfect result for the engine swap  |
