Hey guys,

i've been playing slrr for about 2 and a half years now, downloading mods, installing them on downloaded cars and stuff and up till now i was fine with that. BUT:
I kinda ran out of inspiration, pretty much used all the rims, cars and other stuff i realy like and yeah it gets abit boring now... after reading some stuff here in this part of the forum i got interested in making something myself :D everyone is saying start small, a rim or something and thats cool for me only thing that is missing is knowing what programs, where to get your stuff (model for rims and other part/car) so maybe you guys can help me and everyone who wants to start moddeling by explaining what programs you need and everything that is needed to make a mod?

sorry for my english :D i know it's bad

Programs you might need
SCX EXPORT *CLICK*
Forza studio + ANY program that converts obj to 3ds,i recommend c4d, (it will be only needed to convert rims from forza)
And the site with models and forza studio is gamemodels.ru
Ehm...mmm I like Forza! (and BeamNG)

yeah
for now imma just explain you how to install 3ds max
1.Start the setup but do NOT restart at the end, also ignore any errors while installing.
2.Download and take the licpath.lic from the mediafire link
and paste in the 3ds max directory (C:\3dsmax5)
3.If you use WinVista/7/8 go to C:\3dsmax5\stdplugs and delete the combust_select.dlu
4.Search the 3ds max 5 License Configuration Switcher and change the license type to network.
5.Launch 3ds max and locate licpath.lic if needed.
6.Enjoy 3D Studio MAX!
Scx exporter have instructions included how to install.
Also if you make rims you will need 2 things more

To get a rim from forza you first need to download one from gamemodels.ru
Then get forza studio from there, unpack the archive select LOD0 meshes and textures and export meshes to .obj and textures to .png.
Then just use any program (for example c4d [this might work too,not sure tho *LINK* ] ) and import the obj and export it to 3ds max,so you can import it in 3ds max.
Hopefully gamemodels.ru have some files which are already in .3ds format.
