Does anyone have one? as my controller always seems to feel really twitchy in terms of steering when compared against other people's videos.

if you are using xpadder re-map your buttons so the sterring is controlled by the left and right movement of the mouse and your triggers are the up/down or foward/back movement of the mouse

My slrr comes with pre-setted xbox 360 controller, you might want to check that.
With so much drama in the V-S-T, it's kinda hard being Bigg B-O-double-S-ninetythree B)

Anyone still know anything about this? I want to use either my 360 controller or XB1 controller but neither of them seem to work. Tried mapping the buttons.

I got a "standard" (as in, wired, USB-connected) 360 controller and it works fine.
Just try to learn moving the sticks not as much as you would do, or set the deadzone higher.
