# Tom Diablo : And I thought my idea was crazy when I wanted to put a rotary engine in the Golf Convertible (I did thought about it but I didn't post it)

:)) :)) It'll just get crazier.

# ajlennox : So I have made a few changes to my baby. First things first I put her on some lowering sprigs and got a 1 inch drop. I also put on a new HKS oil filter, a new Stage 3 Exedy twin disc clutch, a new muffler, and I got a custom deep steering wheel, with a Sparco quick release.

Okay well I was wondering what to get for my next build. Didn't want anything Jap because I already built one, and wanted something different. Then I remember seeing this old rotting Jetta in my town. It's been there since I was little. So I went up to the building and searched for the owner. After a bit of doorbell ringing I found the guy. As the car was in pieces and sitting on tree logs I bought it for the small amount of 250 euro.

Had to pay another 50 to transport it to my garage as it doesn't have any wheels and I didn't have a crane. Anyways now it's sitting in the corner of the garage and I'm wondering what I'll be doing with it.

Paint is in rather bad condition and as you'd expect it has rust here and there, but overall the body's good.

Any tips on what engine would be good in it, as the current one is in pieces?

I decided to buy the eclipse, i got it to the shop and started by removing all the suspension (it got messy quick)
right now shes suspended on the lift. I ordered HKS HiperMax Drag shocks for $3000 and HKS HiperMax Drag Springs for $1200
I also got 6 piston brakes for the front and 4 for the back for around $6000
$10200 in total on suspension, but drag car. Am I right?
everything should be in soon.

heres another shot

I decided on what I'll be doing with the Jetta, so first things first I needed to ditch the stock suspension.

So I got it up on the stand and started taking everything apart - taking off the old drum brakes, shocks, springs etc.

When all of that was done I started mounting an H&R Lowering kit. Looks much better than what is used to be. And while I was at it I put on some proper disc brakes with Wildwood brake pads.

Put the car down on the ground and you can see the fruit of my hard work. It'll be going lower once I get some proper rims on.

so my grandfather died a few days ago, and my dad decided not to take the car he had, so he gave it to me. I was quite stunned and still depressed for that matter, after a few days i finally got the guts to drive it, and she was a beauty, it still haunts me to know he drove this car. 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe. :.(.

*2 days later*

We out here B)

LS3 Fitted, mounted & running.

We put on some spare doors, headlights installed + old taillights (but neither wired :)) ) and an exhaust pipe in the engine bay. The exhaust headers both connect and meet in the middle, connecting to this crazy pipe. The sound is... Obnoxiously loud. But in a fun, rat rod way. Oh yeah, we also got a windshield installed so that I wouldn't die trying to drive this over 20 KM/h.

Took it around the block for a drive.

Then I got a little stupid and decided to test it on the highway. Not the safest machine and apparently police didn't think so either :)) :)) :))

List of things the police officer pointed out to me;

-No plates
-No rego
-No windows other than windshield
-No working brake lights
-Dangerous ride height

Just to name the things he said before getting bored. He was really chill though. I told him I was just breaking it in and that my garage was around the corner, so he gave me a ticket for having no registration + no plates, which is acceptable. I've now gotta pay a $490 fine but I can't really be mad, and it's better than losing my license or having the car impounded :)) :)) :)) He said he admired the craftsmanship and originality but not to endanger myself or others. Respectable guy.

I never did over the speed limit, in fact I was under most of the time. Not worth getting hurt in this broken p.o.s :))

Went to the junk yard and found a 95 eclipse. took the head lights and its rear bumper (they look alot better)
im not going to get a front bumper for intercooler reasons.
I got a new exhaust system (sounds alot better now) and a new muffler from HKS and I removed my wing.
Also got my fender flares in the mail today.
Im going to keep them black for that extra james bond affect. < (i wanna see if anyone gets this)

I wanted to do something stupid and different :)) Plus most rat rods are old pickup trucks and so I decided on a platform that was original. It doesn't really make a lot of sense.

By the way forgot to update on current status of the KE70.

Got my rear bumper finally + got an oilcooler as well as this front splitter. Here is how the car sits currently. Also dropped the suspension another half inch and made it super stiff to reduce rubbing.

Car is really fun to drive. Inside is fairly luxurious but there is no sound proofing so you hear the straight pipe loud and clear.

Sounds like this roughly, though a bit throatier.

^god, that sounds exactly like NFS Underground 2

Added 7 minutes later:

So, update on the Vari. I added a little more low... and I got the 2jz from Haku, and haven't posted anything about it because I've been really busy trying to fix 3rd gear. idfk what you did Haku, but there were only 5 or 6 teeth left on that poor thing! So, I had to make new brackets for the engine, and had to pick up a new intake manifold because the old one was too tall. Same goes for the radiator. I got a transmission cooler because the airflow is shit in the tunnel... I got it fitted in, exhaust hooked up. It's a whole new system that I'm trying. I wanted to route it a bit differently around the rear axle, and I think it sounds amazing. Simular to the video above, but much deeper. Not quite Subaru though xD I'm actually on my way out the door to go and buy her some new shoes... (theres an intercooler on it but no turbo because the game wouldn't let me just have the plenum on it.)

Yes I noticed the radiator clipping, shut up

Looked through a good few cars and ended up with 2 to choose from, one's a Nissan S14 and the other one is a Ford Escort RS Cosworth. S14 is located in Japan, would have to import it with which i have no problems with as i had done it before. As for the Escort, it is for sale locally by a guy i know.
I'm really stuck in the middle between these two. Haven't got any pics of the Cossie at the moment, but here's the S14 ad that i'm looking at.

It's been 5 days into owning the JZX90 and the mods have began. I picked up a Nardi Orido Style wheel and boss kit from ebay for 100 bucks. I also got an oil change and alignment done. A friend that's upgrading his coilovers gave me his set- CXRacing Altezza Coilovers. They'll be going in as soon as I pick up my adjustable arms and new bushings.

sup all.

ill show you just what is new with the Cressy, ill write latter about the Impreza, cause i dont have much time right now.I had a nice chance on a fully built 1JZ and i went for it.2500$ for this beauty.Friend was building it but he crashed the car that was suposed to get this engine and he sold it now cause he needed the money to get a new car fast. The engine makes 500+hp, runs like a motherf**ker and i shit my pants every time i floor it.I dont think i will keep it for long, 2 much power for the cressy and she is a weekend drive car.I still have the 2jz, and i will leave it u never know. And yeah i change alot of wheels, so i got new Volk TE37v 16x10, on my old Kumho Ecsta 215/15/16.Here a few pics.

So I got my car painted

And I did a bunch of other things that don't really matter too much, just things to keep it in good shape. A list of those are

1. New brake lines
2. New battery
3. New timing belt
4. New turbo bearings
5. New brake pats
And
6. New headlight lenses and bulbs.

Just a shot of the engine :P

I picked up some shoes for the Varietta. Their Work Rezak's in black. 19 inch with some stretched Yokohama tires. Had to fiddle with the camber plates to get the fitment I wanted, but think it looks SEXY

(Also, for some reason, does anyone know why the ass end of the car just moves up and down with the rotation of the wheel? It's like theres a bar connected to part of the wheel on the driver side, and the other end is on the fender... I'll upload a video if needbe)

^Fix your signature, Smokiegun. That's ridiculously huge.
Anyway, last Friday I went over to the port with a friend to pick up his donor car. He brought in a JZX90 to complete his JZX project and I also got to buy a couple of parts off of him. We picked up a beat up Mark II that offered quite a large amount of parts. I got to take the Recaro seat, front control arms, camber plates, spindles and brembo brakes as well as the 1JZ head and block. He had a stock 1JZ and wanted to build it,so he took the turbo setup, aftermarket plenum and everything else that ran with it,leaving me with just the bare head and block for just 250USD,for which I can't complain. During the upcoming month, I'll be installing everything including my full engine conversion which definitely will be modified to push around 500 to the wheels. Pics of the entire conversion will be coming soon. Here are some pictures of the donor JZX90-

Here's the car. She doesn't start but I managed to take a few pictures before our tow truck came around.

Here you can see the Brembo disc and caliper setup. I really wanted the wheels, but I couldn't take anything else. I'm glad with what I got.

So as i sad the Impreza had some stuff done, i went down with the coilowers that were on here fully.I kinda wana go more lower but for now it will be ok like this.I got new Recaros, got myself a set of new wheels+tyres and some bits and peaces (windows cleaned from all the stickers, HellaHorns, JDM headlights).Wheels are Vossen CV4 18x10 on Toyo R888 245/25/18.i like the whole setup.Only thing that i hate is the paintjob, well i can see the part that was new collored a month ago and the rest of the car is more matte and the collor lost its originality with the years.Might think about full repaint.

For now its an awesome daily and im still in search for a car for my wife. She wants something small and reliable, but that is more for girls.Idk, she likeas a Mazda MX5, but i am thinkin about something that is similar.Any sugestions?
