First things first, thanks to @Smokie and @Snowfox for helping me with my SO's NA!
Turns out that we didn't need the warehouse anyway, since she was visiting family out of town. This thing was really more f!cked then I realized when I bought it. It could have been a lot worse, but thankfully the rust was only on the panels. A quick trip to the junkyard gave us the passenger door, left headlight, and the left tailight. Primed and ready for paint! First coat. Second coat. Third coat. Smokie and Snowfox taught me the basics of fabricating that day. IMO I think the flares turned out good. Fitted a rollcage and the Watanabes I had gotten in prep to see what it would look like. Completely reworking the suspension, this things sticks like flies on sh!t. We had to do some stuff with the Tanabes to make the brakes fit, don't worry, nothing permanent. After we fitted the coilovers and lowered it a bit, it looks great! The turned front wheels don't show justice to how well they filled the fenders. And, don't worry, our work was not in vain. Infact, after she took it for a spin, she told me to sell the Neon and get myself something! I think I've finally got her to see the side of engine and socket. |

Super happy. My r35 went in for tune @ Undercover Performance,NJ made 1233 and 1178ft tq. Sadly the suspension has to be dialed in. slight pull to the right. Any ideas what specs should I run on the track. Please help me out.

Any ideas what specs should I run on the track. Please help me out.If you don't feel like doing suspension work, then I would detune it a bit. It'd also help keep reliability up tenfold. To be effective, there needs to be a balance between power and grip. Too much power, you turn your tires into nothing more than strings of rubber and go nowhere. Not enough power, you'll stick to the road, but you won't be at the car's full potential. It seems your tire specs are decent with the slicks the size of a garage door, but you mentioned your suspension, so I thought I'd help. |

# dxg1997 : So, just decided something... Tom Diablo, would you like to go to DVAP with me to look for a K5 Blazer shell? We can take my 2500 and the 3 car covered trailer if you want. Might use some of the budget to buy something for YOU to work on xD Of course I would I've seen some blazers there. Maybe we'll find a very special car on the way since it was made in the 80's: A DeLorean. Since I've seen the movies I've always wanted one like that. |

So I dropped the Sonoma finally. I decided to with some air SHOCKS instead of bags... (Real reason, bags wouldn't go low enough. I have the springs set to 1.15 inches xD) Their chrome Monroe Max-Air shocks (actual real shocks). I got the truck primered, and sent over to Greg. You guys will love the color I'm sure! I got some brakes, a kicken stereo, and a body kit on order. The trucks actually been at Greg's for about 3 days, but I forgot to post about it. I like the fitment on it, and the air shocks will help with speed bumps XP @Diablo, wanna take off tomarrow morning? I'll check over the 2500 to see if it'll make the journey with the trailer. The Crossram ITB on it concerns me though. Might just swap that out for some kind of supercharger, but I kinda like the whistle from it xD

Alright! I guess we'll take the 2500 as my C10 "only" has 360hp and it would probably struggle. But the bench seat is very soft and comfortable Mind if I come over today to pick up my Lancer? Or isn't it done yet?

Yeah man it's done. It's got a killer sounding idle now. It's really deep and throaty when you give it a little gas. The entire system is handmade, like the rest of my systems, from stainless steel with a good sized titanium muffler tip on it. That car is a really good basis to start man. Good find! I'll bring it over when I come to pick you up. I'll just put it into the trailer. The 2500 has roughly 460 hp. I couldn't get an exact reading because of the beefy tires messing with the dyno. The tires were making a rowwwwarrr noise as they gained speed, slightly skipping on teh rollers xDD

Sweet! Good thing I've done the wiring and engine service first XD I'll snap a pic of it when we take off and then I'll get some pipes to build a rollcage for it. If you ever need a custom rollcage, contact me. I made a few and they are pretty good imo. You can check them out when you pick me up.

Sweet man. Where you wanna go for breakfast? cuz it's prolly gonna be at about 8 A.M. when I come idling up lol. You'll hear it for sure. I straightpiped it a while back, only mod I've done to it. (usually the first thing I do to cars because that's what I specialize in! xDD) Maybe I'll look for a supercharger I can adapt for the LS3 while we're there...

There is a sweet Restaurant a few miles down the Interstate 5. It is called "Hank's diner". The whole place looks like it is from the 50's with red-white interior and stuff. You'll like it. I went there with Facepalm and they have some excellent food.
(I guess Valo is in CA so I took I5) |

Well, I figured when my e36 is sort of done(will never be) I could go ahead and start working on my next project. Now I dont have unlimited funds so dont expect a golden veyron or something. After all I'm a car mechanic not Floyd Maywheather . Anyways I think this will be a nice project and cant wait to start it.
It's a volvo 242. Now, it's only a rolling chassi, it has a b21 under the hood but it's leaking oil everywhere so instead of trying to fix that im planning on doing an engineswap. Dont know what yet but feel free to suggest Also, it's been lowered by the previous owner however the suspension is worn out so I will have to deal with that. Not much to say other than I will have lots of work ahead of me especially with the bodywork. It got rust and dents and you name it. That will be taken care of as soon as possible. Will probably end up buying used parts in better condition or even a parts car. These volvos are dirt cheap in Valo! |

# 2jzCookie : These volvos are dirt cheap in Valo! They are? Might take a look at the 242 sometime. A V6 should fit it but I don't know how wide the engine bay is. If it is too narrow, you can still fit a 4A-GE or a NA8C in there. |

I thinking about going to the junkyard to see if they have any good engines or even a parts car for that matter. I will have to do it anyways when I search for new bodypanels. The rustdamage on my current ones are to serious to fix so new ones are needed. Aswell as a trunk |

Front camber because it's a drift car in which I like to get immense amounts of angle in, as well I rub fender badly with less Intercooler because those are the cards that this mod has dealt to me and because why not? |

I'm no expert but aren't you supposed to have the camber on the rear?
About the intercooler: I agree with shavorostov; Having it clipping through the bumper looks kinda shitty. Take off the bumper and you are all set. |

# Tom Diablo : I'm no expert but aren't you supposed to have the camber on the rear? Looks worse with huge piping and no bumper, there is too much empty space. Also camber should be all around, not just rear and none in front. Front is usually more to assist with turn in. At the end of the day I'm going to keep it as I want For reference; Also last thing I've realized, the car has had this camber set up for like a month (real time) in the front and this is the first time I've heard of it. |

You can adjust the oil pan and set the engine further back so the intercooler sits where it should be,btw... |

For me I've done that but once I hit "ok" then it goes back to where it was anyway, and I could just adjust it in SLRR Editor but I usually can't be bothered. Still, I'll do it now. Fixed intercooler and fixed camber for you guys Is that all better now? This post was edited by Haku (2015-03-01 20:00, ago) |
