I have been messing around with my engine a lot lately and I realized i have no idea what the hell i'm doing when it comes to transmissions. Anyone on here that can give me a run down or something? Thanks in advance :D

there's not much to do on transmission javas, just search the transmission ratios of the engine you're building and set them up, that's it.

Check out OS Giken gear kits and look up the OS88 for 6speed or the getrag V161. I usually run OS Giken RB26 5speed close spec gears.
if you're curious about final drives some common Toyota ones are 3.72, 3.90, 4.10, 3.30 there are lots of Nissan ones 3.54, 3.64, 3.69, 3.90, 4.08, 4.11

for final drives just check out KAAZ, Cusco, or other limited slip gear companies.

Or an example if you want factory settings example search "240sx final drives" or "BMW E30 final drives" hope this helps!

also on LSD lock if you're drifting 90-100% is best, keep it at redline or higher RPMs and it's easier to maintain lock/angle. If your car is too twitchy some mild skid set ups are 60-70%

side note if you're into Euros the Getrag 420G is a good transmission, I would run it on my v8 190E in FM.
