Well, my problem is that when I want to edit C10 base model, I open it with zmod (ofc) & get model what I need, then I export it as .3ds but when I open the .3ds in 3ds max 5 OR max 2014 it comes only a little part of it (roof).
What did I do wrong? I'm pretty sure someone just replies with a facepalm... This post was edited by Coprone (2014-09-08 19:27, ago) |

I think it's because of names of meshes - you need to change them to, f.ex.: 1, 2, 3, because Zmod names them all with same name, and then 3ds can't import them

oh, I think I found it. So I have to import each by one? And after editing put everything together (and attach) & export, right?

Or just rename them in Zmod. I know there's a way. I dunno how tho

ugh. Did something wrong (AGAIN LOL). Model does not appear in-game.
So, I literally edited the model (when it was all together ofc), then saved .3ds to put from 2014 to 5, opened in 5, all model was good, then exported to .scx. Put the new .scx & .tex to place where was the original model, renamed, & now doesn't appear in-game (transparent) |

Is it to do with material settings? I know (or think at least) that they play a part when being exported into the game

Did you apply materials in max5 or max12? It could be due to moving it from one program to the other? (I'm a noob at this but just trying to point ideas in finding whats up)

Scale it up in 3ds by 10025. That's proper scale
Wait, why did you imported it first into 2014? |

cuz i'm more used to it
Added 17 hours 7 minutes later: Just tried to import scx to zmod, export to .3ds, then open in Max 5 & export back to .scx without ANY editing, still transparent in-game... This post was edited by Coprone (2014-09-08 13:08, ago) |
