# dxg1997 : How did you get an invite? It's an invite only show that certain manufacturers and aftermarket parts makers are invited. Fred pulls some strings every year just to show off what our shop can do...Hey, I will be there as a Guest, Only a Few Days... |

Umm... There aren't guests though. It's just for manufacturers. Specialty Equipment Market Association is what its called, and it's not open to the public AT ALL for fear that someone will steal the ideas of some car or part maker.

Thats right! It's a S15 Varietta SPEC R! Love these things... The previous owner swapped out the springs and shocks for a set of Bilstein B14 PSS's and thats about it. The rest of the car is totally stock... I'm gonna make this my pro drifter car because I use the Levin to beat the shit out of, and to practice... Its got a SR20DET with the turbo set at 7.20 psi. running 95 octane gas, she makes roughly 354 hp, even more with premium fuels... This thing is awesomeeee. Also, noticed the HKS intercooler, custom exhaust tip and HID lights. It was an older guy, so I guess softer ride and brighter lights make sense... Also, the pockmarked front bumper. Lots of bugs have lost their lives on this car. it's got 76,903 miles, and they were gentle ones. The guy wanted to sell it fast because he was tired of the bumper scraping on the driveway when he pulled in, and the turbo lag took him by surprise every now and then. His wife wasn't home, but she drives a KE70 Corolla in literally perfect condition. I saw it as I was loading the S15 up after giving him 7k for the car. It was totally stock, no mods, no rust, and it was nice. Deep red like the Levin, and everything...

Updates on the KE70, I picked up a motor from a JDM warehouse today, plus little bits and pieces.
Hello SR20, where's your turbo? There it is. Installed and wired up the SR, then mounted up an exhaust system that runs straight to the back of the car. Intercooler is needed and will be installed soon. Engine will make about 240HP (roughly) from stock. Temporary wheels are fitted Then I lowered the coils and dialed in the fitment, as well I installed bits like the seats I picked up earlier. The guy also happened to have his mirrors still and so I fender mounted them. Front grill (including lights) was on overnight delivery and so I got to put those on. I'm still waiting on my windows, as well as my right taillight so that it will be safe for the road. |

So with my mean crash in the Sierra, I smacked the fender back in to place and decided that this may be the end. I wanted it to go out with a bang and I decided I would give her a trial by drifting.
If she could survive the monstrous mountain roads I was about to take her on, I would keep her. If not it would be a valiant effort and a good fairwell. I only got one sideways picture, so after that the rest will be told with words. The sierra was getting incredible angle on each of the corners and I had never pushed the car as hard as I was. I went into a corner 90 degrees and that was too hot. The back left of the bed met with a wall. That was the moment I thought it was done. Not even 5 minutes in and the truck was dead. I was wrong, though. You could see the running gear through the torn sheet metal, but the truck was still driving and still straight. I kept going and hit numerous walls along the way, the rear end taking a horrible beating until I hit another wall. I drove until my oil and water gauges were nearly maxxed and one of my rear tires had bursted. I towed her back to the shop to get pictures of the aftermath. The trunk latches are broken, missing both of my rear lights, the trunk is ruined. So I suppose this is the end of this chapter. The Sierra has met it's end. Or not. |

After that picture I tried to drive it back into the garage and the engine seized up I haven't even checked what's wrong, it's just in the corner of the garage leaking fluids. |

I was going to part out the BMW but I just cant do that to it so Im going to try to fix it or do something silly with it since its not longer my DD. I've been getting some extra money for working overtime and stuff at the shop so I can afford something nice. I already searched a few junkyards and have most of the parts that were damaged and sold the engine since I was having problems with it.
Anyways I was getting ready to head home for the day when my boss Mike called and told me he bought a car from some kid that started a drift missile project but ran out of money and gave up. Now its his project and I will work with him to get extra money for my BMW project and an extra one (Puertorican blood in me is screaming rotary). Anyways, here is what he got. Its an s14 zenki with a kouki front end. Already has a nice suspension and brakes but no engine. He did say he already has his eyes set on a guy that is selling two nice engines. I think he wants to build a missile for himself. We also got a customer car in the shop that I will be working with, dont know the details or what will be done with it yet but I do know its a Sil80. |

So, the SO and I decided to stretch our clutch legs and take a walk in Old Town. It's really very pretty. But, of course, I'm here, not Facebook. Instead, we turned a corner near a bar and I spot this:
I turned on my heels, and sprinted into the bar like I had a gaggle of A10's on my heels. I asked the owner about the 'A80, but once he asked me what the hell a "A80" is, I knew I was getting a bargain. "Oh, the Supra? Yeah, I've been meaning to sell it." He couldn't even finish his next sentence before I ripped out my checkbook. Now, look where she is! It's so clean that I'd eat off of the undercarraige, but it's got a nasty paint fade from all those years sitting in a alley behind a bar. Also, don't worry, it's got man pedals. So, you may be asking now, "What do you plan to do with this?" Well, this 'real' dyno chart I drew should give you an idea. |

Dude congrats to you and tom on the new shop! You guys are gonna do some great work.
Got a little update today. to start with, the daily got some new wheels. I took off the vxs210's and slapped on these Rotiform Nue, the concave face. they are more expensive than the regular monoblock face, but I feel it makes them that much better. In addition to the new wheels, I also bought a new project car.. a 2000 FD3S. when I spoke with the owner he informed me that this car only had 2 owners and that he was actually never able to drive it. he had bought it from his dad in 2014 after the apex seals blew out on the rotary for the second time. he has planned on fixing it, but then quickly realized that he didn't want the rotary anymore, then lost interest in the project as a whole. it is an immaculate SP rx7 (it added better suspension and the sunroof option) but was already prepped for a swap. unsure if I should throw a 13b-rew back in or go with something else. this is gonna be my 2door daily driver cause I want a light agile coupe the stunning engine bay |

Morning's here and I'm back in the garage working on my Celica Supra.
I popped the hood to take a look at the engine. Thought I'd see if it starts first. Thankfully it started without any problems so I got the engine bay and engine cleaned up. I've also changed the engine's fluids so it's in top shape. Next I got the car up on the stand and had a gander at the underside. Suspension wasn't looking in good shape with leaks all over the place and brakes locked up. Considering this suspension has been taking a battering 31 years now, I thought I'd treat the car to a whole new running gear kit. So I set off dismounting the old suspension and brakes. With fresh new running gear installed the car looks a whole lot better. Now that I know everything with the car is alright I gave it a test run. So I popped on some old steelies I had lying around in the garage and took it to the local test track. Had quite a bit of fun in this car, but I wouldn't say it's made to drift, which isn't what I'm looking for anyways. |

So... a friend of mine is going on holidays for 3 weeks and left me his daily driver to use since i haven't got one at the moment. The car that he gave me is a 1997 Lexus SC300. It may not look like anything special, but damn it runs well and makes it really enjoyable on the road. Everything's stock apart H&R coils and ''18 Gram Lights 57d. Been looking at the car adverts both in Japan and locally and have picked out a few I'd get, but nothing is decided yet.

# Kornis : So... a friend of mine is going on holidays for 3 weeks and left me his daily driver to use since i haven't got one at the moment. Props to your friend for having such a clean daily, and props to you for quote in your signature Also if you're interested in a 2009 STi Hatch then you can let me know, it's just sitting in the garage right now On my end, got updates on KE70. Pulled car out of the garage and had a little bit of fun. Then got to work mounting this ducktail spoiler. Trunk section mounted. and then the ends were fitted Also had myself some fun trying to mount this Blitz intercooler Then I did some paint work on the car. Not 100% sure if this is how I want to keep it, but I'm thinking I might just get it wrapped in a little bit anyway. Opinions? Anyway, I'm still waiting on some bits and pieces to come in, but it's in running and working order, and I'm having a lot of fun already. I'm going drive able show car route, though. I'm thinking subtle boso styling? You'll see. |

Alright, boys and girls, I'm back with some bad news. I'm sure some of you remember the SC I had started, and, well, all I can say bout her is RIP. Basically, I had her in storage, because a Canadian winter is not good for a mostly bare metal car chassis. The Storage locker had collapsed, due to all the snow we got this year. I, along with everyone else who had possessions in there got an insurance check. Basically, I had paid a couple hundred total for everything that was on that chassis. The gave me $7500. That is a lot more money to play with. I combined that in the savings account that I had with the money from the sale of my Bimmer, so I have a good chunk of cash. I immediately contacted Carson Imposts, just ton the other side of the bridge. They were able to import this beauty for me for a total of around $12000.
My dream car, and she's clean too, apart from a busted passenger side mirror, and few faded panels. It's not completely stock, but it's close enough. Only aftermarket parts on it are the Bride buckets with some Takata harnesses, and the HKS intercooler. I was also able to locate a cheap used Greddy lip, and I fixed it up, sprayed it black, and mounted that sucker on. I have got a few plans for this car, but you'll have to wait and see when I post next |

Well,a good while has passed and I still haven't found something that's worth the build in my area. I test drove a friend's BRZ and I love it so far..I just wish it wasn't so expensive. Coilovers, wheels and a Rocketbunny Wing are pretty much all that's been done to this car and it looks damn nice. This car is shaping up to be a great project platform for me...maybe.
