Hello. I'm here to talk about slrr tyres physics. I've sudied tyre.java quite a bit and found out that slrr uses Pacejka's Magic formula, this formula is used by about 50% of racing games and simulations.
But why slrr doesn't feel any close to simulation? Because game uses only 8 variables of 20, though all 20 are adjustable in tyre.java. Maybe it's possible to make slrr closer to simulation? So i wanted to ask you guys do you think about this? Maybe someone wants to team up and try to do something with it? This post was edited by mindeliszz (2014-08-25 20:15, ago) |

thanks for clearing it up i'll try to contact redline_racer and see if he wants to help.
Added 8 hours 45 minutes later: I was playing around with all that Pacejka stuff and i can say it's possible to do some serious shit with it But there's a lot of work to do to make realistic handling. This post was edited by mindeliszz (2014-08-26 21:32, ago) |

ill work with you&benyuk (:
ive rrecently done some minimal adjustments to the tyre javas. its important you change individual values when testing so you can make notes on the behavior. also, I know for a fact that the grip levels on the tyres doesn't need reducing, its already accurate. keep notr of how the ai drive after your modifications, if they understeer into a wall, you're doing it wrong. as for unlocking the full 20 variables, ill look into it, simulation style tyre physics should be possible |

# Redline_Racer : ill work with you&benyuk (: There's a little problem in all this "simulation physics" thing, you people edit numbers without a minimum cognition and try and retry ingame until you like it(or get the piss of it). That's everything but the correct way to do it, you need to actually study how the formula works and calculate the precise numbers to use otherwise it will always be a " omg i have made a great uber hyper physics super awesome - just for me and few others" thing. |

that looks great man! just a question, that hopping right before a corner(the rear jumping over) doesn't look really natural. think that will be adjustable?
i mean stock suspension will do that but on your car the front has a lot of grip and the rear hops around a bit. |

Hello, this is my first post here but im really amazed about mindeliszz discover. I have a little history about this, when i start to play SLRR again, discover BennyUK drift vids and got crazy about that kind of physics on the SLRR (could sound cocky but i ALWAYS tought that SLRR had some of best physics of that moment but devs used "wrong" values), then i rode that Benny was working on something bigger so those physics wont be up to download. After that seen a post of him teaching basis to get right physics and start working with that having Great fun.
Well.. this boring post is to illustrate that when i use to mod for Racing simulators in the past, been very very into the Pacejka thing, and when i got into tyre.java saw that pacejka option like "disabled", but didnt understood how to use Pacejkas there, tought that wasnt able to use. I ll share with you some pacejkas so u can try them, or also maybe by pm tellme how to make SLRR read pacejka´s so i test and tweak them. BMW M3 E46 stock tyre. |

All the sources are in my mod, so there is everything i need. Anyway, i can't seem to find any link between the values you posted above and the slrr pajecka values, sorry.

Oh, ok Mindeliszz, thats the code that another simulator use. When im came back from work gonna see your sources and try to translate my pacejka collection (of slicks, mid sport tyres, semi-slicks, road, etc) to SLRR language!
Tried your mod yesterday and im completly amazed! honestly is a huge advance towards right direction. Congratulations! |

mindeliszz, honestly i still dont get some aspects of how SLR use Pacejka values. Im doing testing and try to figure out some aspects. I can share with you were do i get information of real pacejkas and what did i rode to understand them in the past (have to read again most of that).
This is a tutorial (oriented to Racer Free Car Simulator but is very usefull) to understand what every Pacejka value does. LINK: Pacejka Magic Formula LINK: Here you can get REAL pacejka´s of AVON tyres LINK: Program to calculate Pacejka Curves Please tellme if its usefull and hope this info help you. So, urm, I installed the physics from the download section, and I tried to start up the game (BB93 MWM) and it said wrong game type. Will there be a version compatible with BB93's slrr?
