# Lagano : Those HREs are way too big for the 7. The Omega looks really good though, and what engine upgrades does it have? Now it's a beast with so much power. :)

It is like the original lotus carlton engine, but with some modifications. The base was the 3 liter 24v dohc engine in our case too. The modifications are: The cubic capacity is enlarged to 3615 cc. The combustion chambers in cylinder head are milled to achieve 8.2:1 compression(the factory is 10:1). Forged Mahle pistons. Kessler forged crankshaft. 2 remanifactured Garrett T25 turbos. they replaced the original ignition system(1 coil for the 6 spark plugs. on the original lotus there was a wasted spark system, but the coil on plug is much more advanced) to a coil on plug one. The fuel injectors are new, and the fuel rail is made specially for the car. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator is applied. The original motronic is replaced to whistler racing engine management with ALS and launch control. they did not recreated the original water cooled intercooler, they used a HKS unit. Racing sinter clutch with lightened flywheel. 6 speed ZF gearbox from a C4 corvette.

I managed to put in 500km yesterday. On the dyno they had to push it hard, but on the road i was gentle with it. It pulls really hard, at about 3500 it starts to go like hell. Not an oldschool turbo kick in because the 2 smaller turbochargers, but you can feel and hear when they spool up. I did not rev upper than 6500, the limiter is somewhere around 7500, and the guys who programmed it says that it pulls up to that point, but i did not want to destroy something. it'll be good for racing.

And just one little info: i got tired of looking the omegas m60 in the corner of the garage, so i parked the 36 in the engine changing spot, and cleared the original straight six for a removal.

Added 54 minutes later:

Last shots of the omega. i gonna miss it.

Luckily we could easily modify the mounts for the 36, little drive shaft welding, water hose routing, addig fuel and ignition, and hello there super loud v8 rumble.

And in the 5th minute of owning a v8 e36 i blew up the rear 2 tyres and with them the rear bumper said goodbye too. I did not even left the garage :D.
