Well about a 2 years ago, I moved to a new neighborhood due to my work. It didn't take me long to notice this '84 M635CSi sitting outside of a neighbor's driveway on my daily commute to work. Every morning I passed by this car, and wondered if the owner would be willing to sell it.
After having enough of wondering, I decided to write a note stating "I am very interested in this car" with my phone number, and left it on the windshield hoping I would get a call from the owner. A week passed, and I had not gotten a phone call. I thought to myself "he must have not seen the note". So I decided that I would leave another note on the windshield the next morning on my way to work. Next morning rolls by, and I drive by the house, and to my surprise, the car was gone!
At this point I had lost all hope to ever be able to acquire this car, until about a month ago. I received a phone call from a buddy of mine saying "I found the car!"
I immediately asked him where the car was, and drove down to see it. Sure enough, it was the same car. As I was checking the car out, the owner walked out, and we started talking. After talking to him and letting him know of my intentions with the car, I was able to convince him to sell the car. So we ran to the bank and finished the deal. I called a tow truck and towed it to my garage.

Pictures of when I first bought the car. It was in a rough shape, but it had lots of potential.

The car had some rust and dents. I first started by doing the body work. Fixing the dents and getting rid of all the rust.
It also was missing a few body parts. I found a guy local to where I live that had OEM parts for vintage BMWs. I traveled down to his shop and picked up a used hood, front bumper, rear spoiler, and headlights.
I spent a few days choosing the perfect color I wanted, and next the car was towed out to a trusty body shop for paint. While the car was at the shop to be painted, I took advantage of the free time and found a beautiful S54 engine from a 2005 E46 M3 with 48K miles. I picked up the engine locally and started maintaining it. It was now ready to be dropped into the car.

Pictures of the car with the body work done, and back from the body shop. The paint looks absolutely stunning and better than I had imagined!

Even more excited to finish the car, I immediately started on the engine. A few days later, the engine was in the engine bay and ready for it's first start to life. Fingers crossed!

It started right up! It runs like a dream. Now onto the brakes. The OEM brakes that were on the car, were very rusty, and no longer up to the task. So it was time to swap them out. I opted for 332mm Brembo slotted rotors, and 4 piston Brembo calipers.

It was finally time for some wheels. I spent a long time deciding what wheels I wanted. I found a set of OEM BMW Style 15's. I picked them up and shipped them out to a friend to re-barrel them. He stepped them up from the original 16" to 17" with stepped lips.

Pictures of the car all buttoned up. Took it out for a drive and it was every bit of "great" I had envisioned it would be.

Also a quick shot of the interior.

I wanted to thank the following people for making this Roleplay Story possible.
