my Champions were rubbing pretty bad, so I took my fenders off and hammered out the guards. No more rub
While I was drifting earlier today, the motor let go in a huge plume of smoke. Turns out the head gasket went bad, and I lost compression in two cylinders. I let the car run a little more and there was oil in my cylinders, and basically shit went really bad. Since I am (or was) running on a stock bottom end with stock internals, I decided I'd spend a little more money and upgrade to a built bottom end. Stripped down the motor, took off all the good parts, and swapped in a new reinforced JUN block. Installed a set of lower compression JUN pistons, and HKS connecting rods, then reinstalled my Powerhouse Racing ported and polished cylinder head with all the goodies on it. Gonna throw it on the dyno soon and see what power it's making, now that I can turn up the boost. Also done a lot of work to the Miata. Went to the local wreckers and picked up a trunk and rear bumper, and bought an OEM set of tailights on Valolist. Installed my K-Sport 2-way coilovers. Mad rub on the stock 16's so I need to hunt for wheels and lower profile tires. Also bought a Bride LowMax bucket and installed Takata harnesses. Motor is also back in, but not before I bolted on a Garrett GT35R on a custom low mount manifold. Running low boost, making around 300 whp, which is more than enough for this little car. And I have a rollcage mocked up in the car, and the car is off to have one installed. Now I can't decide if I want to run overfenders, or fender flares..
