Last night I got to work on the KE70 because I had some spare time.

We spent quite a few hours sanding down the existing paint work, getting it all down to bare metal. Then we did a coat of primer and started working on some dents and imperfections on the body.

We got it hoisted up after the primer dried and we took off the wheels.

The running gear was in very bad condition, though it didn't really look like it. 3 of 4 wheel hubs were seized and brake lines were all broken. We bled the brakes and then disassembled the whole system up to the hubs. We started working on them and got them back into working order, cleaned them up and then installed a set of coilovers. replacement brakes were laying around and so we installed them, then put on a new set of steelies just to get the car rolling around.

Engine bay was nice and empty except the car had it's original battery, which was stuck and corroded. We removed it, then got to work priming the bay.

New battery fitted, the car got put back onto the ground.

Last bit of work tonight was putting on these fenders. They aren't exactly meant for this car but we made them fit. They aren't actually installed right now, they're held on with double sided tape for the time being. We'll get them fixed onto the body once paint time comes.

I don't really know what direction I'm heading in with this car. I can go my usual, ratty and ridiculous way, or I can go show car standard with it.

I have body panels ordered, some of them should be here sooner than others. We will see what gets here first and then start fitting them. Also saw a kijiji ad for some KE70 seats.

Do it for the ratchets
