It's been a while since i last posted here but i got some new stuff.

I sold the Supra for a reasonable price, the guy that bought it from me restores crashed and older cars. after i told him the story about what happened he was dying to buy my monster, we loaded it up and of it went. to be honest i'll really miss that car it was a monster that i loved.

after thinking what i should buy i found this Miata U9 1.6 with 70k miles on it, i called the owner and arranged a meeting at my place.
when he showed up i noticed right away that the engine was in bad shape, it had this weird rattling sound which could've meant 2 things, the valves or the timing front the camshafts are off. the body itself is pretty good, new soft top and a new front bumper which i hate badly. the suspension is stock and the engine had a powerfilter. i bought it of him for 1500 bucks, i'd say a good deal!

Luckily since the MX-5 is the most sold convertible parts are fairly cheap and easy to find, so i found an early model bumper and a spoiler which were fitted right away, after checking the engine for that rattling sound i was kinda shocked. after removing the headcover and taking of the camshafts they were badly damaged, the valves were burned from the timing and after digging further even the pistons were damaged! my "cheap" buy wasn't that cheap. i need an engine and fast!

after checking Joe'slist (lol craigslist) i found a half built 1.8i engine which i bought for 400 bucks, it came with a Blackseries crankshaft, blackseries connecting rods, BS pistons, reinforced head with racing valves, high RPM BS intake/exhaust camshafts, ITB's and i've probably forgot something. the engine was half built which is weird but the guy had little knowledge of engines and way to much money and time on his hands.

Added 11 minutes later:

engine build time! Bumper, hood, lights and front fenders were removed before i started on the engine, after removing the old engine i kept the exhaust line and exhaust header since they were in pretty good shape. bolt after bolt, screw after screw and cursing a lot the engine came along pretty good but i forgot to buy something.. a gasket! how could i be so dumb.. i quickly hopped in the AE86 and raced towards the local parts shop and guess what? cops don't like my AE86 :D it was to loud and i went to fast and bla bla bla bla, basterd fined me for 260 bucks. bought a gasket and cruised back. i went on with building untill late in the night. it's in the car now but it needs some fine tuning, the ECU needs to be programmed it's set to hit the rev limiter at 7500RPM but the engine can take more but i think i'll keep it on a safe limit untill the engine has some milage on it.

that sunday i went to the local track to test it. i made some small drifts but the stock suspension is just so wrong for the engine, it wobbles after exiting a corner and it has a huge roll. but i'll get to that soon :)
