i think its best to make them in different/populiar aspect ratios.. like 16:10, 16:9 etc... then of course leave them in the highest res possible for that ratio.. those who use windows will fit them in screen and if its higher res it will look good.. if its smaller on higher res it will be stretched making it blurry ;D


also a tip dopey - keep it minimal works the best
