I tried to run as an admin, the box came up, I clicked ok, and nothing... How do I run in compatibility mode?

Ok, tried to run compatibility mode for Window XP SP3, like Torres1895 said and nothing. I save the settings, click on the program, the box appears for permissions, I click ok, the mouse does the little loading image for about 2 seconds, then nothing... Is there something else I can try? And can this program be run on a laptop?
