The Desert Find

Suppose I should introduce myself first. I'm Matthew Cross - chose the "ShadowPhoenixTar" name because I lost a bet, personally I think it's a bit silly but hey, it's the internet.

Anyway, straight to the point. Me and my buddies were taking a road trip in a pickup truck when we decided to stop for some gas and to get some food, maybe some rest (we've been driving for at least 4 hours prior). However, while we were filling up, I spotted a most peculiar object near the restrooms.

When I approached for a closer look, it turned out to be a Honda S2000, although... not in the very best of conditions. Missing a front bumper, damaged panels and what looked to be damaged suspension, as well. With my curiosity reaching new heights, I walked closer and closer to see what's what.

Either the engine fell off or the suspension's been botched so hard that the oil pan is now acting as the new skidplate. Regardless, I called my buddies over to have a look.

The radiator fell off after I slightly moved it around to take a closer look at the engine, so I decided 'screw it' and just opened the hood without asking for anybody's permission. Indeed, the engine had fallen off and the engine bay's badly bent, too.

From the back, not much damage to be seen although there could be some more underlying problems if the car's properly inspected.

All of this most likely means head-on collision, and the somewhat straight front right quarterpanel means someone at least tried to repair it, then gave up probably due to either realizing how big of a job this might actually be, lack of funds or lack of tools or all of the above. In any case, the manager of the gas station said we could tow the car away for free, since apparently it had been there for quite a long time and has been an eyesore for the entire duration.

I dunno, on one hand I need a car of my own that I can take on track days, on the other hand this seems like a massive piece of work and could potentially cost a crap ton. I've got 20 grand saved up. What do you guys think?
