Finally, the engine for my 944 has arrived. It's a flat 6 from a 930! (that's a 2nd generation 911 if you don't know) *LINK* It's from a 3.0 Turbo, that's why that intercooler is there. It has around 300hp, you might think why did i spend so much if i could get a 2JZ with the same power for way less money. The thing is, i wanted to keep it a little bit original, even if the stock 944 engine is a 2.5 4 cylinder, but this flat 6 is still from a Porsche, so it's kinda original. And i also got a new battery.
When the engine was on my way to me, i made some exhaust pipes. I just took 2 steel pipes and sent them to a metal processing company to be chromed, now they shine like a diamond. And i'll hear the flat 6 loud and clear. After we put the engine in, there was just some wiring to do (a lot actually) and the 944 is now ready for the road! Which means i registered it ASAP. It needed homologation because it's far from stock and i got an awesome plate for it, that cost me some more but whatever. Here's a shot of its maiden voyage. This car will be great for shows cause it attracts a whole lot of attention, i already saw that heads were turning when i was driving it today. |
