I thought it was a perfect time to take a spin around the town with the Supra. It's quite a while since I drove this thing!

Cleaned up a little bit of dust and it's all good to go :)

Image

It's pretty nice to drive around with this car with a smell of gasoline and the sound of inline-6, which is quite a harmony.

People here didn't really like the "noise" it makes, so I quickly headed to the local highway to avoid the unwanted attention.

Image

For now I've just capped this car's potential, because it might kill me when I engage the full throttle with the full boost setup.

Also, there aren't many places to run like 300km/h with stable road condition.

Image

The best I could do for now is maintain this car to its greatest condition and preserve it, and drive it like a daily.

There's nothing better than driving a car like a daily!

Image

Speaking of ECR33, I've reconditioned the front fender and bought a new pair of rear widebody fenders (+50mm) for V$ 300 to match the increased front track width.

Also, I've returned the CST wheels to 11K and retrieved my AVS6 which is now clean and new!

Image

The rear is now bulkier and looks just like a GT-R chassis overall. But I am not sure if I keep the bolts on the fenders or just hide it.

Image

Also copped the Kakimoto exhaust for R33, which costed V$ 600. Now it should sound better and gives a bit more of oomph to the car itself.

That Soprah looks as beautiful as ever, also for the screws on the rear panels, hide them make the car look OEM-ish :D

I've been through some stuff lately, and I came up with a simple, but effective upgrade for a R33 GT-R. Not the RWD missile this time :^)

Image

I've traded the BBS LM wheels with these SSR SP1s and the slightly used set of Advan tires with 80% tread remaining, alongside with V$ 1500 in cash.

Pretty good deal I guess. because I had some issues with previous tires and I didn't really like how it felt to be honest. A great time to move on!

Image

And as you noticed, the front fender had to be widened in order to cope with the increased width (actually same but it pokes out more) so I had to find the over fenders, which looks clean and OEM as possible.

Therefore I came up with 400R style fender flares for only V$ 200 and with some fabrications and paint, it fits pretty well.

Image

I gave rear more aggressive styling to have a deeper dish on the back (GT-R thicc yes) and got even wider because of the fender.

Image

Last but not least, I installed the StopTech 14 inch brake set all around for V$ 3500, and sold the OEM Nismo brake kit for V$ 1000. Bigger brakes, better safety!

Anyways YO SOMEONE GRAB A FIRE EXTINGUISHER COS THIS IS HOT!!
The SP1s, Stoptech BBKs and the wide fenders screams 'track day, bro' very loudly and I love that! :D I reckon this could be your next legend build, just like your Supra ;)

it looks quite good quality but I didn't like the choice of rims too much, I think a nicer rim could be preferred. Of course it's a matter of taste. :)

I didn't think the SSRs would fit that well on your GTR but they do! Great match with the overfenders but you could try painting them white to keep that super clean look like it had before. :D

Survivor Cars?

Image

As you might heard from @Benny, @Lagano and @BigSmoke's thread, @11000rpm and I decided to hop on a plane for a SEMA 2019 which is held in Las Vegas.

Benny invited us to a SEMA show to show off his immaculate, and perfect E60 V10 swapped Infiniti G35 to the show. Well the show was full of nice slammed cars, fully souped up spec race cars and all kinds of quirky and showy vehicles.

Also our Seoul Crew was able to meet one of Kami-Sama crews, @RocketBunnyS13 but unfortunately not @Niatross and @topy due to their hectic local schedule.

All of us really had a big fun and epic casino baller moment in Las Vegas, but I happened to meet several people during the show, who claimed to own a Motorex BNR34 and bring his friend as well. So I DMed them and decided to meet them at the local parking lot.

Well I thought this was a perfect time to see a shady side of American automotive history, and some would say "What the heck is a Motorex?" Well...
...Motorex was a registered importer of Nissan Skylines in the late 90s, responsible for bringing the cars across the Pacific and getting them up to EPA and NHTSA standards before releasing them to the private party that initially purchased the car from Japan via Motorex...

...Motorex tried to lobby the R32 and R34 as models “substantially similar” enough to the R33 so that they didn’t require separate crash testing....

...The owner of Motorex continued to bring in cars faster than they could be brought up to safety and smog standards, vastly outspent his income on questionable habits, and eventually the whole company came falling down...

...Cars went missing, paperwork never got filed, payments were made to Motorex but products and services went unrendered...
And the car community speculates that there are less than 15 of "US legal" Motorex R34s in the whole freedom land. And I was very excited to encounter one of them!

Image

...And here it is. It's the '99 GT-R which was featured in Doug DeMuro's previous video. At first glance it pretty much says this example was driven pretty frequently by the owner and not the garage queen.

SIde Note : The license plate will be blurred out for obvious reason, and I don't want to disclose any more personal information of the owner :)

Image

it has a Nismo Z-Tune style CF hood and painted lower lip as an external modification, and the engine wasn't modified at all.

Image

Basically it has all of the factory V-Spec goodies which reminds me of my BNR34!

Image

I was pretty lucky to have a shotgun ride on this R34 and it felt pretty weird and great at the same time, like you are allowed to enjoy all the good stuff of this forbidden fruit.

Image

We headed to a local fast food chain for a quick photoshoot and the parking, and the R34 owner's friend came with his R33 GT-R, which was a Motorex R33 as well.

Image

It's a silver '96 GT-R Series 1 which will be fully legal in States next year, but who cares when you already own a fully legal one?

Image

He did some minor modifications to the R33 to fully enjoy the forbidden fruit, which are N1 bumper ducts, BCRacing coilovers and the LMGT4 wheels wrapped with Continental tires!

Image

Also he even upgraded the brakes, CF rear spoiler and the Series 3 front lips, and he mentioned the R33 is basically his favorite and the best track toy he have owned so far.

Image

I was pretty glad to see the modern touch for this vintage Japanese classics, and a very handful of them are still around the states.

But still, I haven't seen anyone who was really confident and brave enough to LHD swap their Motorex cars other than Benny and RedCarDriver!

Aaaaah finally, someone brought the infamous Motorex case! It's one of my favourite cases in the motoring world, partly due to it involving the GT-Rs. And glad to see some of their imports are alive and healthy as well! I guess I should've not just dwell inside SEMA to look at the racecars

Those GT-Rs were just epic man! Maybe the R33 was from RentJDM, i kinda wanted to try out one of their cars too! And yeah, the Motorex cars are very rare and appreciated, especially R34s because there's so few of them still remaining! Many of those were seized but those who already bought it got lucky. Thanks to Doug i know it like my back pocket

It's been few weeks since I came back to Korea, and I got a message from Mr. Lee that the package I ordered from Japan has been safely arrived to his garage shop.

I picked up the R34 stock wheels and the winter tires I used last year, and the LMGT4 is now being stored in the garage for now until spring.

That means Supra will be stored inside my home's garage for few weeks at least.

Image

Anyways, I ordered several parts from @Niatross from Omori Factory, with unpainted pair of Nismo side skirt lips, Nismo rear bumper lips and the R34 LED rear light assembly.

The rear LED lights came without the rear light cover, and it was not that difficult to replace. But the most difficult part was to find this "EV1 Lightning Yellow" paint in order to use for my future build or repair.

Well I could source exact same paint for GT-T models, but I just decided to make it as close as possible with the help of 11K, and the result came out pretty okay!

Image

Now the side and the rear is covered!

Image

Regarding the rear LED lights from Nismo, it was actually a discontinued product but Niatross thankfully sourced a new old stock lying around!

No cracks, no dead LED bulbs and clean surface really proves these were genuine Nismo parts, and I didn't want to cheap out on this rare R34.

Image

I just hope the local cops don't stop me for this simple LED rear lights, I am too lazy to prove this is actually the "OEM" product :)

And I don't have to worry about exchanging the light bulbs every time now. That's a big advantage.

Image

So here's how the R34 looks like now, and probably it will have more upgrades as year 2020 is right around the corner!
