Hey there!

My name is Brandon. I am living in LA. I used to come on here a few years ago, had to make a new account.

Welcome to my build thread. Street style/early 2000's drift cars are my favorite, but I will be doing all kinds of builds. I'm going to be doing some "quick" builds first, as to flip the cars and save up for better ones!

Now I'll get you up to speed with where I'm at:

I picked up this 240sx recently. I had to haggle to get it for V$2500

The car came with blown coilovers. Body was straight, but the paint had gone dull and clear coat had started to fog up from sitting outside in the so-cal sun. Interior is immaculate other than the seats, which are ripped and faded.

It runs... but the KA does not run healthy. So I'll have to go into troubleshoot mode and figure out if it's worth it to fix or if I need to swap a new motor in. (Which won't be anything crazy, just going to clean this car up and sell it.)

So I got started. Borrowed a friend's pignose lip to test fit...

It doesn't really look right and it doesn't fit well so I'll probably just try to find a full aftermarket kit. Might as well upgrade. (And with 240 prices around here the modified ones are worth more!)

Also I'll show my daily, since I'm probably going to throw a few things at it and flip it as well. Probably won't be able to resist slamming it lol.

Stupid california cars and their faded a** paint. Oh well, better than rust!

So anyways, I got some replica mirrors on eBay for V$100:

Kinda cheap but they will be painted and turn out nice.

Started buffing the hood and roof:

And that's where I'm at for now. Here's a to-do list:

-Get it running
-Buff the paint
-Order new coilovers/wheels
-Aero
-Final cleanup/painting of aero
-Post it for sale!

Good luck with the 240 build man! It looks like it needs a lot of polish or even paint.

Also, it's rather unusual to see a Bora here, and I like it! :D

Thanks boys! (and nice to meet y'all)

Well about the s13 lol... I'm probably going to get something else.

Today I buffed both cars out. The 240 turned out amazing, super clean paint.

Found some cheap raceland coilovers for the Jetta. Went and picked them up off Craigslist for V$350

Need to go lower, but the oil pan on the vr6 is so low. I ordered engine mount risers to raise the motor up so I'll wait til those come in.

Got the KA figured out. The maf was bad so I picked up a new one from the parts store and it runs great now! Here she is all clean and pretty much ready for sale.

**Edit**

Soooo I posted the 240sx for sale just to test the waters. Maybe I'll keep it to build, but, the SC is really calling my name. And I already placed an order on a set of wheels from Art of Wheels :O

That SC300 looks tempting! However it has a salvage title so keep an eye out for any issues.

Well I went and checked the SC out, and yeah it wasn't worth picking up.

So I'm continuing to search for another project car. I want a new daily too but I'm going to finish the Jetta first. Debating on painting it or just leaving it as is.

Just a Jetta update for now. My friend called and told me he had some wheels I might want. I headed over there and we got tires mounted and balanced, threw them on and adjusted the coilovers. Picked up some salad shooters for $300 with some used tires.

We wanted to see it lower so he helped me make up some DIY engine mount risers rather than waiting for the ones I ordered.

Ordered camber arms and spacers so I can dial in the fitment

We used ECS wheel centering plates to push the rear axle back into it's correct location, so I didn't have to deal with the front side of the rear tires rubbing.

I'll update if I find a new project! Let me know if you have something cool.
Also I'm looking for smoked hella clears for the Jetta, let me know if anyone has a lead on some.

The salad shooters fits the car nicely, I love it! :D
I'd say at least polish the car or indeed repaint it if you want to sell it as well

Thanks! Yeah that's true, I would rather sell it as a nice looking car than a half-finished project

Thanks man! It's just a vr6... I feel like diesel would be more reliable! It's my daily, so plans are just to drive it and sell it for now...

Update! My Blitz are here from AOW! Let me get the Jetta stuff out of the way first.

Spacers & proper engine mount risers came in almost 2 weeks ago. Along with a hybrid oil pan to make sure I have tons of clearance.

We installed all that and here's the results

Now my daily isn't really fit to be a daily anymore lol.

After dialing in the fitment to get it perfect

Loving how it sits now. Been driving my other car this past week and yeah I'm already looking for a new daily...

Now, for the other car... Someone came and picked up my hatch! So naturally I replaced it with...

A 240sx coupe! There's a few reasons why I decided to build this instead.

It's super clean, inside and out, for one.

Aaaannnd it's got an SR20DET swap...

Going to order some parts tonight. Might just sell the Jetta once I find a daily just to go on a shopping spree for this thing. I want to go drifting asap.

Also test fitted the Blitz

However I ordered them for my hatch. Which was going to be a flashy street car. I don't think they really suit the style that I'm going for. So the Blitz will be up for grabs as well.

Thanks! Well I sold the Jetta and someone offered me a trade for my coupe, a GS400 with a W58 swap and coilovers... couldn't say no to that.

It's a really clean car

I immediately spun the coils down

That's where it sits for now. Ordering some parts tonight. Currently looking for wheels

I've been busy helping Benny at the shop. This guy wants bags/wheels installed on his RS6 so I'll show the progress of that

Then this rad silverado on bags, think he's getting wheels and some body parts installed.

I'll post another update soon!
