What kind of part exactly? I think you should download the wheel resizer script as it allows "spawning" a wheel in your max scene, which obviously helps to scale anything once you know its size :)

its a hood and a bumper, the wheel resizer sadly wont help, and i got the size pretty accuratly, around 100~ times scaled up,but its still offset and slightly misscaled, any ideas why?

Could you post some pics so i see the exact problem?

I think you might have rescaled them using center to group pivot instead of center to object(not on the pivot menus, the one nearby the move/scale/rotate buttons).

okay so i managed to fix it by using blender instead of max to rescale the models, and im in general more familiar to blender, but the scaling thing is still a problem since i cant find exact numbers for the scale and it always is just slightly off

Added 58 minutes later:

okay i found the perfect size
for future reference:
s 100
s 0.2
s 0.91

Added 1 minute later:

now all i need is to know how to get the reflections back because i have the model back in but no reflections

Added 55 minutes later:

okay im using a material on 3ds max that should be paintable and be reflective but its barely paintable and doesnt reflect anything at all
