So uhm.. Yeah. AYOOOO.

Yes. I'm back! It's been a while hasn't it?
Some of you are probably wondering what has happened in those last months? If you follow Skip's thread you probably already know why I wasn't really updating anything... WE (ALSO WARD) GOT A GARAGE! We are now known as

Garage Contraband密輸品 !!

BUT.. About my old cars. I sold both my S14 and my S13 Silvia project car to the guys at Powervehicles at Ebisu for 12.000V$. I kept the 180sx for now since Im not sure if I might rebuild it or just sell it aswell.. I just wasn't feeling it anymore for some reason. I did end up buying another project tho.. ;)

A crusty old GX70 Mark II.. lol

Definitley has seen better days. Judging by the undercarriage and the hacked up exhaust and suspesion this might have been a really cool shakotan build a couple of years ago.. who knows. Now it sits in our driveway with its 160.000kms down the clock, a blown engine and a messed up exterior.. But I guess still kinda nice enough for 1.500V$?

The only thing that still kinda looks nice is the interior. Actually still looks perfectly intact for its age and mileage.

The plans for this? I'm gonna let you know soon enough... First things first is getting that exterior fixed and getting a new engine in there.

ENGINE CHECK~UP!!

I'm back again with another update on the Mark II project!
On further inspection on the old 1G-E engine I noticed.. well.. It's hardcore fugged. So we did what was needed - THROW THAT B IN THE TRASH!

Since I was in the need of a new engine and I'm still in good contact with the guys at TEC-ART'S I asked them if they maybe have a good and semi-powerful engine that I could swap into this heavy thing.. When they went through the list of engine that they had in their shop my eyes went bigger when they told me this - 4AGE 20v Blacktop. O boi. Yes this kinda goes against the whole "semi-powerful" rule but I just couldn't get the idea out of my head.. So..

Here it is! Its also completely stock. The engine came out of an AE111 that had a pretty hefty rear end collision. The engine has like 80kms on it but was completely overhauled by the TEC-ART'S guys. It costed me about 2.5k with the engine harness and the 5-speed gearbox.

Even tho I will end up restoring the whole body of the Mark II I still wanted to see if everything fits or if I have to make some major custom work to make it sit. Obviously there will be some custom work since the 4A-GE never came with the Mark II. So I hit up Skip if he could help me just throwing everything together pretty roughly so I can get a better look on what I have to work with heh.

Unsuprisingly enough - IT FITS! The engine bay is pretty big so there more than enough space for this little four-banger. Well.. We did end up removing it again after that heh (sorry skip)

Now that I think about it, it's kinda like a 4 door AE86.
Can't wait to see it actually in the car (mostly because it means I won't have to help take it out again :>)

A four door AE86 as skip said haha, I am still wondering what will you do with it, low shakotan build or something more "sporty", I guess we will see, also that engine fits really good even tho I would have wanted NA JZ as 11k said, but I guess we will have to persuade skip to do that to his Supra now. :))

Shakotan Shakotan. Well If you think about swapping one day. 1JZ's come quite low at yahoo... Easy score at 500. Just in case.
I really look forward what will happen to this GX71!

This is getting E X C I T I N G

Hey there. Sorry that the updates are getting so irregular but work and private stuff are taking up a lot of my freetime heh.

Anyways - Things are getting s p i c y.

Both the Mark II AND the 180sx got a bit of plastic surgery and are now getting ready for new fresh layers of paint. On the Mark II we even managed to finish up the engine mounts for the 4A-GE and we even hacked together one of those rollcages that you see a lot in other old styled up jap cars.

More infos and updates about the costs and stuff are coming when they are back from the body shop!

Thanks to both of you! I really hope that both will turn out good!

Well H E C C I N - F R I C K

Yet another car joined our family. And this time its something that I wanted to drive for a long time...

SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND - B18C SWAPPED EG CIVIC

Yes you that read right! ... continue that meme for yourself heh. I found this thing while we were delivering the other hoopties to the body shop. This was first built up as a sleeper but the owner didn't have time for it anymore so he had to sell it pretty quick. Some years ago he found this as a shell and a wrecked Integra SiR-G on the same scrapyard and well.. This happened. He actually ended up only paying 3.5k for the whole project since he was pretty lucky with finding all the other parts he needed. So I thought paying him 4.5k was fair enough..

On the first look you would think that this is your average well-kept EG6 VTi. This thing actually has about 160k down the chassis and 40k down the engine which was rebuilt by the guys over at ZerofighteR tho. It's also running a full ZerofighteR exhaust system, Toda camshafts, Toda Pistons aswell as some used Spoon coilovers and brake calipers from a '00 Prelude Type S (w/ stainless steel brake lines).

Other than that its pretty much stock. He recently just bought some white 16 inch Advan VS6 on some used Bridestone Potenzas to finish up the look. Since this was supposed to be a sleeper at some point it wasn't really the plan to change up the ex- and interior but he thought some that some nice wheels couldn't hurt.

I mean it's pretty obvious what's going to happen with this isn't it? ;) Gonna add my own flair to this and then - hit the streets.

180sx Version 2 - F I N I S H E D

kinda

Yeap - The S13 got back from the body and paint shop. And yes it looks s p i c y. Even tho back then my plan was to make it look like my own version of the red 180sx that Koguchi once owned, I kinda had the idea to go full out Kyusha with it. And when I found that really sick a** budonoki wing for 400V$ it was pretty obvious which way this was actually going. When I finally found the shop that wanted to help me out with the bodywork and paint we also settled on building up a "half-cage" for both looks and safety since im crazy enough to try and slide this thing at the tracks.

As you can might tell the car got A LOT lower. I even had to remove the front lip I installed before but it kinda works now without. I also bought myself a full set of 13 inch Hayashi Yayois 2-piece and a full set of 13 inch SSR MK1. Both previously rebuilt - 2.500V$ for both and about 450V$ for the new 195/55 Toyos to stretch on.

BTW the whole procedure at the bodyshop and getting this thing together costed me about another 2.500V$. Probably one of my most expensive builds yet but to get this together and working was definitley working. Well.. still have to weld together a "muffler" heh. And before you ask - I kinda laid back the Mark II for a bit.. We're still kinda going through the whole building process with the 4AGE swap and the bodywork.. So please be patient with that. But atleast my daily EG6 also got some love.

Its actually not that much but I bought a FRP wing from JDM Osaka (450V$), a used Bride ZETA III (500V$) that I kinda managed to refurbish (like I did back on the S14) and ended up wrapping the new wing, sideskirts and the side trim in white (50V$).

That's about it. I'm REALLY happy about how the S13 turned out and how the EG is evolving.. But it hurts to see the Mark II unfinished, sitting in the corner collecting dust.. That needs to change ASAP! ;)

HOLY LORD. I thought the Mark II was gonna be a long-term project, the only project you and skip were gonna work on, but NOP. You go ahead and tRANSFORM THAT S13, and then you get a clean EG6 ON VS6S AND MAKE IT AN EVEN BETTER EG6 ON VS6s. Goddamn mah dude, it's all pretty fire! Haha

Huge thanks for the nice words, you guys!

Really chill week tbh

In this week nothing really that much happened tbh. Just the small final touches on the 180sx were made and the EG6 has a Brembo BBK on the front now. I needed to get some bigger brakes because I noticed that the brakes started to fade when slowing down fast from higher speeds. Payed about 1.300V$ for the whole kit. The kit consisted of the 4-pot calipers, drilled 300mm brake discs and 4 new brake pads.

And as you can might tell I also got rid of the trims on the side and just covered the holes with some left over wrap I had from the rear wing. Also had a local print shop help me getting some bigger stuff printed for the sides of the car. To finish it off I actually made the whole car just an inch lower overall. It kinda starts to rub in the front when the suspension is compressed while turning but maybe I can fix that with slightly smaller tires or with a tiny bit of camber.. dont really want to loose that amazing grippy handling the car currently has though.

Two random shots I made in Yokohama:

And like I said we also finished off the 180sx by finally welding together a (*some sort of*) exhaust. At first I wanted to go full out but yet decided to go a bit tamer so we ended up making some pretty simple shotgun barrels for it. Had a small drive without plates through the Tokyo suburbs I live in. A policeman actually stopped me because of that but when I told him that it was just a test drive he actually let me go with a small warning and a huge smile on his face!

Civic looks very nice, like a proper Kanjo racer! I like the 180 as well, stock-ish but still cool. How the hell do you drive it though? It's so low that it looks like it's hovering lol.
