Well it's just one of many S13s around here but i'm still excited about yours! :D

Added 28 seconds later:

A Different Kind.

Thanks for all the kind words! Basically I can say that Project Supra is technically done for now. :)

As a result, I was getting bored lately, so I searched some local craigslist car listings for some new 'daily project' car.

I found one and contacted him, and headed to the public parking lot with 11K.

I found a decent S13 Silvia, but a rather different kind. Something you wouldn't find easily on this peninsula, at least.

A left-hand drive, with rear reflection lights, and the unusual "pop-up" regulatory lights to meet the requirement... The '89 240SX Coupe.

He said he brought it over when he moved his work from USA to Korea. He mentioned that the KA24 was blown a long time ago and it was already swapped with SR20DET engine without turbo setup when he got it secondhand. Also, it was repainted with 180SX yellow, which is a rare color. I've never seen Silvias with "this" stock color.

It had about 240K miles on the odometer, and probably engine must have ran less than that. Probably more than I could possibly imagine.

Well the gasket was kinda leaking and it needed some basic maintenance, and it showed no signs of rod/piston knocks which is a sign of running fairly okay. I gave him V$ 4000 which included all the registration fees.

With a short test drive, the shocks were okay and the interior was fairly in good condition. The 3rd party exhaust was doing its job at least. Well, getting used to MPH speedometer was a fresh experience though. I should watch out for accidental speed violation because of that.

This car might get really interesting, and it has potential. Or have I screwed myself up?

Sleeper actually sounds good! Probably I gotta swap it with Hyundai V6 or V8 for better maintenance and more affordable parts.

The SR20 in this 240SX is much worse than expected, even worse than one on my 180SX.

But it's running okay, so I gotta hold onto it until it breaks down, and salvage some parts.

Anyways, I went to the garage after I registered the number plates. I am worried about the insurance fee, but who cares.

I took out the letterings off from the rear and the front. I decided to keep it as my little souvenir. A little trace of memory?

Now it is time to hunt for Silvia lettering, which would be hard time finding here in Korea.

I took out the X-Type wheels on the rear, and replaced it with teardrops which I owned only a pair.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a spare cap for the front. But it will be replaced anyway.

Getting a JZ sounds good. Maybe I could swap it when I could find one after I save my money enough.

Although it is not at the highest priority now.

Parting out some exterior panels for PS13 conversion. I sold the hood, pig-nose bumper, pop-up lights for V$ 500.

Front quarterpanels will be sold as well.

I bought used HKS Hipermax Coilovers for V$ 800. Looks low and good :)

I changed wheels with 180SX, giving X-Type wheels to the 240, teardrops to the 180.

Finding PS13 exterior parts aren't that easy, so I decided to store it in the garage when I visit Japan again with 11K for Drift event.

Perhaps I could find some parts for the 240SX.

Drift Con Trip - Part 1.

Currently I am in Japan for STC88 Drift Con. I met Lagano and visited his Side By Side garage.

11K went to see his good ol buddy - aho to take a look at Toyota Chaser. I said we could meet at Ebisu soon.

This was his RB swapped S14, looking sleeper.

Actually it was my S14 a year ago, I "Zenki-Swapped" the hell out of it,

and it eventually got here thank to skip, coming back to its origin. Such a story maker.

Actually it felt so nostalgic to see my old ride getting a proper care with better owners :D

Last time I heard about Lagano's S14 was that the sick livery and hotboi wheels. Currently he changed the rear wheels.

Gram Lights look so lightweight, perhaps I could get similar styled ones in Up-Garage.

The Navan bumpers look so great on Zenki S14. I could see and feel the effort of Side By Side Team putting so much effort on this S14 :)

Unfortunately I couldn't see skip's 180SX here, but I guess it is pretty lucky myself to see my previous S14 here in Japan.

It was nice to hang out with you again! I really like your S13 too, so clean. Actually i have SSR's on the rear too, but i changed to Gram Lights for the drift event because those rims had better tires for drifting. I kinda like how it looks now so i might as well keep them on!

Drift Con Trip - Part 2.

I arrived at Ebisu Minami safely this time, without breaking or leaking anything at all.

Driving a two-decade old vehicle on a track, especially with almost stock settings and everything, was quite a heavy workload for a car.

I checked everything and it was working fine, but it was reaching only 170PS, which was far too weak for the course. I could do it but the car couldn't.

The bushing and the suspension, especially the rubber parts under the car, and the clutch was quite worn out from Round 1.

So I decided to just spectate Round 2 instead, in order to save my 180SX.

It's a shame not to participate with a capable car, but I had to return safely to Korea without breaking anything.

It was a nice view, especially those nice cars from MACKAY, 11K, Marcus and all other cool participants :)

Damn, it's a shame that you could not participate in Round 2 because of these issues, even with your 170PS you could have made some awesome skids as you did in round 1.. Why don't you replaced those things man, I guess many of us would have helped you, some with parts and others with wrenching, but anyways, hope everything will be good soon. Oh ant by the way thanks for nice words, you are welcome for shotgun ride in S2K haha.

Yeah I could have gotten helps from you guys, but it was okay for me to just enjoy the moment I spent on the track :)

I gotta check all the rubbers before I get back to Korea and get those while I am still in Japan.

Drift Con Trip - Part 3...?

It's been a while since I returned to Korea (I had to deal with personal issues) and I decided to tell some stuff I did behind the scenes.

While I was away, I asked Mr. Lee to take my car and do some work if possible.

He came up with used 18' Advan TC3 wheels and S13 rear wide fender kit from eBay he bought a long time ago.

He also painted the base of the car into black to prevent rust as well.

It looked really barebone when he sent some high-quality shots of the progress. I could make 240 Coupe as a drift car this time..

The car was staying like this for several days since I left Japan, so I had to take care of it as soon as I finished my own shit.

....And I came back with something ordinary. A full Works9 Bodykit. Previously painted as silver, but still in a good shape. Thanks to 11K for finding this nice deal :)

Stock Silvia fenders wouldn't be a good choice and rolled one would not be enough, so I decided to go for wide fenders.

I also found the aftermarket S13 rear lights in Up-Garage, so I picked it up and brought it over with me.

The mufflers fit so bad with the rear bumper, so I think I should get a nice muffler as well.

There's still a lot of progress to be made. it needs some repainting and all sorts of details I have to focus on. ;)

Nice 240 maaneeee !
My 240sx Coupe is also on the same road, but already mine has a swap (RB26DETT), and a sports bodykit bn, I would recommend modifying your sr20de, so you get more power, and when you get tired of it, you change the engine and in passing you take a little money to modify, which I could not do in the beginning because my old engine (CA18DET, Yes, change the engine before and was destroyed).
A 1JZ could be a good option, or a 2UZ-FE, my old S13.4 had a 2uz-fe swapped and then I put a twin turbo kit if you remember (I think you saw it once you went through my old workshop) although it can cause understeer by weight, but it is a good and economical option

This project has a future!

Thank you people! It took some time to repaint and implement the new Garrett turbo setup on the 240SX.

Actually the wide fenders were not in the good shape when I started to see the painting progress, and I decided to remove it and replace it with the stock ones.

It looks a bit narrow, but it will stick to the car much better than one before. Same thing happened to the rear right fenders as well, luckily I didn't bolt the whole fenders just in case...

It now reaches about 300 horsepower with its full boost (Limited because of some stock components left).

With the turbo setup, I also replaced the exhaust system.

Now the 240SX looks like this and as you heard from 11K, I am preparing some nice stuff with Korean gangs about the car culture.

This will be my first time to actually put some liveries on the car,kit how it will look.

Whoops! Sorry for the delay guys. I was working on my life stuff, and I ordered some special things for the S13 Coupe. I decided to put Works9 fender kits and the hood in order to match the bodykit. S13 is truly becoming the real wallet eater!

From what I used to have on my storage, I traded my previous to-be-used S13 wide front / rear fenders with the Works9 one. Well, it was hard to get the genuine fenders, so I had to deal with the replicated ones. But it works really good, just as the original one, with a lot of custom job.

I paid V$ 100 for the aero-style mirrors. I hope cops won't bug me off with this one.

I also paid V$ 500 for the used brick lights / blinker set and the "GT-R style" grille.

It always feels heartbreaking to grind the "not-touched" stock rear fenders to make it wider.

I paid V$ 1500 for the used Brembo 4P/2P brake kit / spacers and this was the one I waited for the delivery, since I had issues with the delivery company.

Well..

About the hood, I also traded the stock S13 hood with + V$ 300 with the Works9 hood. I am not sure this one is genuine or not, but it was cheap so I got one. Now it looks much better in shape.

Also, I rattle sprayed the Advan TC3s into one of common grey colors, and it turned out much better than I expected.

The license plate placement is weird, but I had to compromise. Things happen, you know.

I took her for the drive with 11K, and he also really liked the result! Maybe I should reconsider the custom livery and the sticker job...?

1. The so-called "stock condition" 180SX is doing its job fine, as a daily grocery machine. Nothing has been done to the car other than the basic maintenance.

2. My "Wangan" spec Supra is doing its job really well as a weekend racer. I just matt-blacked the wheels for more one-toned look.
