Say Hello To My Aussie Friend As you guys know, I recently sold my S14. It was sad to see it go, but I was about to get a new "daily" car which isn't a 2-door, and non-Japanese. So I contacted my friend who was working in KATUSA, I asked him if there are any used cars that were imported by American soldiers. He called me later that day, and brought the '08 Pontiac G8 Base model, Panther Black, 3.6 V6 GM Engine and 5-Spd Automatic Tranny. I am a big fan of those Aussie-American associates, so we made a deal and I brought this beauty for V$ 8500. The previous owner was using her as a perfect daily car, nothing modified except the HSV sticker and the GXP Brakes. Well I wanted the GT or GXP trim but I had no choice. Simple base trim to make a new car, I hope. + V$ 12500 (S14) - V$ 8500 (G8) - V$ 5 (Sandwich) Total V$ 5600 |

I've been doing some research about the car's history, and I found something interesting - Some parts were not original. I mean, the parts were made for VE chassis, but it is not in the right trim and the market. First, the headlights - It was from the VE Commodore (AU) base model headlights, which doesn't include the projection lights. So I replaced it with the OEM Pontiac G8 lights for V$ 250. Second, it was the single-pipe mufflers from the base line VE Commodore, which was the main reason why the V6 engine didn't sound like it used to be. Those were also replaced to OEM G8 twin-pipe mufflers. Fun Facts : Australian G8s were transported to Korean GM Facility in Korea for US delivery. *LINK* - V$ 250 (Lights) - V$ 250 (Mufflers) Total V$ 5100 |

I will put those headlights back when this one breaks
I also found out that a batch of G8 GTs were secretly imported by US Air Force. I guess I am the only Base model here. That sounds interesting. |

Sil80 "The Panda" Well, I did some changes to the Sil80, because I wanted to try something different this time. These Fifteen52 003 Wheels, I traded my BBS custom wheels with those and paid extra V$ 1500 including new Bridgestone tires. I've also wrapped the lip, fender flares, hood, roof, roof spoiler and the trunk into black for more two-tone look. I might also think about some new color combos or livery ideas. - V$ 1500 (Wheel Trade + New Tires) - V$ 200 (Wrapping) Total V$ 3740 |

I've been away for a week because I was traveling Japan IRL, and it was a great experience. The front lip was scraping and shit wherever I go, so I got rid of it and it now has much better clearance. The side skirt was not in a good shape lately, so I replaced it with the used TopMix one, which was formerly used in yellow RPS13. Wrapping the roof and the trunk was too much, so I just took it off. + V$ 940 (Paycheck) - V$ 200 (Used Skirts) Total V$ 4480 |

While I was away a week ago, I ordered the paint shop to repaint my G8 into white. The result came out pretty nice. I really like the white & black combo, I replaced those door handles and windows trim into black ones. I put my old base headlights back, and wrapped the grille and the hood holes to black. Now I have to put my S13 and wrap the yellow skirts into white. - V$ 800 (Repaint) - V$ 100 (Black Trim) Total V$ 3580 |

# Jfernando1 : Cresta? I'll show her when I find one Meet "Teddy" The Supra After getting the G8 and experiencing the American horsepower (and getting my Sil80 sold), I wanted to get the right car to build this time. Guess what, I found this interesting piece of metal - 1995 Toyota Supra JZA80. Yeah I know, it is all beaten up and it is missing some parts, but hey it's a Supra. Well, she was about to be built to drift, but somehow the previous owner ditched the project and left the car in the garage for few years. It has Stock 2JZ-GE N/A Engine, Stock 5-spd Manual Gearbox, Custom Welded LSD, Toyota GT86 Brakes, and Blown eBay Coilovers. Looking at the temporary number plate... Actually it was about to get it registered as a road legal car after the modification, but the owner decided not to. I guess I have to take a lot of time and effort restoring this beast. P.S. I decided to name her Teddy because I found this suspicious looking plush bear in the trunk. - V$ 6000 (Supra) Total V$ 12580 This post was edited by Soju (2017-08-28 12:04, ago) |

Thank you guys. Actually it was my first time buying a 'crap' car and start a real project. I started to clean the shit out of it, and luckily no parts fell off during the process. Only thing I had to do was tape the rear windshield with the big plastic wrap. Time for a little break. I didn't need to wax the car since it needs to be repainted anyway. My next plan is to rearrange all the misfit parts, remove previous modifications, and try to fill up missing portions. |
