Hello! My name is Calvin and I live in Osaka. I moved here when I was a little kid, although I am originally from the US. I'm still in high school and in my spare time I work at my dad's garage. I've been saving up for a car for a few years now, and even though I've had the money to buy an econobox for some time now, I'd rather wait and buy something worth driving than buy a little shitbox.
I was looking through the inventory of a local auction recently, and I came across this: a 1992 Nissan Skyline GTS. It was only 450,000 yen (around $4000), really low until I found out that the engine was blown. That might seem scary to some, but even though I'm just a kid I have a lot of experience working on cars. I ended up buying the car and had to have it towed back to my dad's garage. This will be it's home until I manage to find an engine for it. The only aftermarket parts on the car were a set of Work CR01s, I don't really like them but I have bigger issues to deal with first. Hopefully I'll have an engine for it soon. This post was edited by CR42 (2017-04-10 16:44, ago) |

I posted on a local car enthusiast forum that I was looking for an engine and I was contacted by a guy who said he could hook me up with one. Turns out he crashed his R34 V-Spec a while ago and he's been wanting to part it out for some time.
I went down to look at the car and it's pretty much trashed, but the important bits are fine so that's good news for me. We finally decided on 325,000 yen for the engine and the Nismo LMGT4s on the car. Can't wait to get them into my R32! (I had some problems with my PC so these pictures aren't as high quality as the rest.) This post was edited by CR42 (2017-03-27 09:05, ago) |

After multiple sleepless nights, I finally managed to get the engine into the car! Took it out a bit, and I must say it's nice to finally drive a car you've owned for so long, even if it is in a parking lot lol
Engine bay cleaned out and ready for the swap: Expect more updates soon :v This post was edited by CR42 (2017-03-28 06:24, ago) |

Got the wheels and tires onto the R32.
On the inside, I gave it a clean and picked up a Mine's instrument cluster and center gauges. Hopefully I'll have the performance to match the speedo soon! [img][/img] This post was edited by CR42 (2017-03-31 17:36, ago) |

Sourced an R32 GT-R rear spoiler as well as a front bumper, grille and hood for $2000.
I'm currently in the process of trying to get it registered, hopefully that will happen soon. This post was edited by CR42 (2017-03-31 17:37, ago) |

Finally got my car registered! So excited that I can finally (legally) drive it on the road.
In other news, I moved into a new house recently so I'll have my own garage to work on my R32. |

Well i have to agree with everyone. It looks the same color as my R32, but i think you have a little too much camber in the front, you could match it in the rear and you can lower it for sure.

You know what I need?
Money. I need lots and lots of money, because cars ain't cheap. And I've got the perfect plan: I'm going to flip cars. If you're not familiar with what flipping is, it's the buying of cheap cars, reconditioning them, and then selling them on for a higher price. I was considering whether or not this would be a good idea when I came across an ad for this online: A 2004 Honda Integra Type-S in Pearl White. The car looked pretty rough in the photos, but the dealer selling it was just down the road from me, so I decided to go have a look anyway. The car was far from perfect, but it was mechanically sound. Visually, it was a crapbox. The clear coat on the hood was peeling off and the paint was faded, the rear left fender had a large scrape, and the valve cover was a mess, among other things. But once I test drove the car, I knew that it was perfect. The K20 had just over 150,000kms on it, but it drove like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The shifts were quick and precise, and the car had plenty of grunt. As an added bonus, the interior was immaculate. The car was listed for 180,000 yen, but I negotiated it down to 165,000 because of the horrible exterior condition. Long story short, I drove home in an Integra! Acura center caps! Yeah I agree, it's a lot easier to replace and repaint some exterior parts than swap out a whole engine. # soju357 : That Honda looks promising. Any thoughts about Mugen bodykit? Not right now, I'm doing this mainly for the profit and so I need to keep costs down. Maybe in the future I'll buy another one and put a Mugen kit on it though |

Quite a large update on the Integra.
Sanded down the scrape on the rear fender. Installed a new hood, Type R brake calipers, and some lowered springs. I got the hood off a crashed Integra from a local junkyard. I paid only 5,000 yen since I traded my old hood in. The paint is a little off, but you can barely tell. Tidied up the brake calipers and paint matched the rear quarter panel with some paint I had lying around. Springs were 20,000 yen off of eBay Japan. Now all I need is some wheels |

Just don't get wheels that are to crazy because it will either de trade the resale value, or limit the people who wants to buy your car in future, or both.. just a tip

New shoes!
Picked up some 17" Work Emotion CR Kais from eBay for 70,000 yen with tires. Sold my old OEM wheels for 38,500 including tires. I feel they really suit the car well. Car should be up for sale soon in the classifieds. |
