Eyy! My name's Hydro, recently hit 18 years old (A month ago maybe?), and currently in Youngstown, Ohio! Anyway, I decided to finally lay my hands on my first car. An owner was selling his dark gray Ford F100 '56, which had broken lights, a RS500 engine, and Bilstein shocks and springs. The story goes that he tried to make a street rod, but the original engine was damaged like hell, and he had no option but to swap it for a RS500 engine, which isn't so bad, since it produces around 335hp, but the transmission was also in a bad condition, which made the engine break down in 5th gear for some reason. The truck was basically perfect outside, except the headlights and taillights. He wanted 7500$, which was quite the price! Nevertheless, I managed to negotiate and lowered the price to 7000$, but that was still a big kick to the balls for my wallet. This is how the car looks like:    First thing's first, I registered the car, and I'm not sure what I might make of it. Maybe a street rod? Or a dragster? UPDATE :3 Today I managed to find a guy selling some sort of 'Tom's Racing' 16" wheels, so I went to check it out. I was interested in the wheels since they looked they could fit nicely on an old school car like the F100. I ended up buying them for 580$, then i ended up buying some Dunlop Direzzas for 572$. Before I decided to fit the wheels on, I had to go to ebay and find some nice coils, which cost me around 1650$. Luckily, the guy that was selling those was not to far away, so they arrived the same day i ordered them. After some time, I fitted the coils and the wheels, this is how the beast in making looks like now (One of my friends decided to take some photos, he was a huge 'murica car fan  ) : The licence plate makes me very proud   Anyhow, tomorrow I might plan on getting some disc brakes, the drum brakes are outdated nowadays.  13000$ -580$ (Tom's Racing 16" wheels) -572$ (Dunlop Direzzas) -1650$ (Bilstein B14 PSS Coils) Current Finances: 10198$ This post was edited by Hydrogenex (2016-12-04 16:08, ago) |

Today I managed to find some working headlights and taillights in a junkyard near me. Luckily the peep gave me them for around 80$, which is sick <3
I also bought some new seats for 130$, they're a bit different from the old ones, and look a tiny bit more modern.    With the help of a 335hp engine, and a 4WD drivetrain, I managed to slide the thing around a bit, but just for a bit :3 I've also ordered some new brakes, they should be here by tomorrow! Today, the brakes arrived, and I got myself a nice red Vertex steering wheel!
  I also decided to slap on duct tape on the headlights of the F100 too, 'cuz old school is best school.  Got my paycheck too, which is sweet <3 Anyhow, I plan on possibly swapping out the engine, but I'm very unsure if it's a good move, since it'll cost a ton, and I'm slowly running a bit short on money already. Tell me what you guys think! @Lagano Let's just say that'll be expected soon...
(Btw do I get my paycheck every 7 posts or every 7 days, O.o Idk cuz I'm dum' af) Welp, after some time, I decided to go ahead and visit my good ol' friend (Dayum) Daniel, Dan for short, who lived in Wilmington, Delaware. After screwing around, talking about cars and stuff, he decided to show me something, which he said that only his dad and he know. Oh. My. God. He said he could trade it for my RS500 engine, but I also had to give him around 1500$, and I immediately agreed to the deal. You might be wondering what I traded my RS500 engine for? Well, after mounting it in my F100, here it is:  What you're seeing right there is a Ford Modular 4.6 SOHC engine, which easily produced around 330 hp. The good thing is, it was completely stock, with no problems in it, which meant I could finally (Albeit it might be a tiny bit expensive) customize the engine, plus it's a damn V8! How awesome is that! True I might have lost the awesome AWD drivetrain, but this seems much more fitting! Anyhow, It had 330 hp, which I could ramp up just a bit when i get a bit more cash, but for now, I'm perfectly fine with this approach. While his dad was mounting the engine, we decided to make the F100 exhausts much better looking, and we also made a ''homemade'' rollcage for the thing. We barely fit the damn thing in, but in the end, here's how it came out.   (Yes, the engine actually spat mad flames, ya'll XD)So, I barely lost any noticeable money, had a great time, and made my truck better. I'm thinking of getting it repainted in a bright white color soon. I'm also planning to get a nice lil' daily, cuz the F100 is gonna be a full out beast when I'm done with it (If i ever get it done). Well, after having sold my ol' Tommies, I had to find some new 16" wheels (2lazy2findmoartyreslolwut)
After around a day of searching, I found some guy selling some hot af Torq Thrust 16" wheels, and I immediately liked them, they looked awesome. After having spent 200$, I decided to give my car a bit of exterior style. First thing I wanted to do is lower the car. After a bit tampering with the suspension, I dropped the front to around 7", and the back to 8" Second I wanted is a bit offset on the rear, and I found a guy selling some custom-made rear fenders, for about 550$ I got rid of the old ones, and slapped the custom ones in an hour or so. There wasn't much difference, the custom ones were a bit wider, which allowed for me to get dat sweet -26 offset on the rear  After a long day, I finally took some time to rest. After a good 6hrs of sleep, I think it was finally time to make my car much more noticeable. There was a nearby paint shop, which I was headed to. I already had arranged a meeting at around 1:00PM, and the guy was waiting for me. He told me he would finish painting the car at around 8:00PM, and so, 650$ went from my wallet to his. It was kind of lonely without the car, and I was a bit worried if the paint would come out good. (Yes he is a fast painter, O.o) I arrived at 8:10PM (Walking makes you be late for a schedule by ten minutes, be careful kids), and the truck already waited for me there, now dressed in a beautiful white colour. I bought a new truck bed, with no wood on the bottom, a new trunk bed hatch door, that had no FORD letters on it or anything, a cleaner hood (With no bulge in it) and a nice little plastic wing, all of that makes around 1,969$ spent... I look like a dumbass when I spend this much money on stuff no one actually cares about ._. Got my paycheck, let's get roight to the neews.
As I stated before, I noticed a bit of rattling in the engine, and it turns out the pistons were slowly wearing out, so I had to buy replacements ;.; Found some very clean pistons on eBay, and I ended up giving away 384$ for them. I also got a nice front splitter for around 594$, but I have mixed feelings about it. After strapping those on, and taking the truck out for a ride, I noticed a tiny bit of kick in acceleration. Not much, but I could feel it a bit. I took it on the dyno, and surprisingly, the engine now had 340hp instead of 330hp! Sure, it wasn't a big improvement, but it's still a thing. Anyhow, as there was an old-school style car meet in town, I had to pay a little visit to it. And then it struck me. I threw all the parts of the F100 that I didn't need in the big-ass truck bed, excluding the front bumper, and went to the meet. I was getting greens like never before. I managed to sell all those parts at around 9690$ TOTAL! Mainly because I was a sneaky douchebag and decided to price up the parts by like 1.5x A lot of people actually fell for it  Besides getting mad gains, I actually saw quite the sights there, but I didn't take pics, cuz I was too amazed. There was a 1945hp AMC Javelin, that smoked everyone it witnessed, except thankfully I didn't even try. It was quite the fun. Of course, the weaker guys got their share, and we all slayed some tires, except by the time my turn came to slay tires, there were barely any people left, it was night time, and everyone was tired. Luckily one guy was a bit more interested and took some shots:   Now, when I said I had mixed feelings for the splitter, I wanted to ask you guys: Should I keep the splitter, or get the front bumper back and sell the splitter? Anyhow, financy tiem: -384$ (Pistons) -594$ (Splitter) +9690$ (Epic sellout of all the parts I didn't need on the F100) Current finances: 15,031$ A new ride might be coming soon, but that's up for you to decide... |
