After we made the exhaust for the MX5 we went for a cruise as Phonexius just told you, also we checked the progress of his R33. When we got there it was in a million pieces cause it will get a complete rebuild, Cate was working on the chassis so the R33 will withstand really high speeds. I didn't make any photos cause we helped him with some welding. All i can say is that #ProjectR33 won't be on the road for a long time, there's loads of work with it at the moment but the final result will be so worth it. And Cate is a pro with bodywork so it will be done like it should be. :D

There's also some work waiting for me back in Oklahoma, so more updates when i get there. #ProjectMX5 is getting done but it will be continued in our garage, that's why i borrowed a trailer in the first place! :)

This morning i arrived to our garage with the MX5, the first thing i saw was the LS2 engine which i ordered for 3Style's 180SX 2 days ago. The boys already did some measurements so we made the swap in no time.

There's also a lot of info about LS swaps on the internet so it was pretty easy. :D It's one of the most common swaps but we chose it cause LS is a very reliable engine.

3Style's 180 got a makeover in the interior as well, so a lot of stuff has arrived yesterday: Complete Bride interior, DMax floor mats, short throw shifter and hydraulic handbrake. After we installed the new interior 3Style thought "Why not slap some stickers on the dashboard cause Skip brought tons of them" and so he did.

Before i went to the paint shop to return the pickup and trailer, 3Style gave me the LS2 head covers, air filter and strut bar to paint them red. When we put these parts back on the 180, the engine bay looked much more aggressive!

As i said 3Style and Skip did some measurements when they got the LS2, so they made a straight pipe exhaust before we swapped it in, and it fitted perfectly with the headers.

I don't know if you noticed but the guys painted the chassis and engine bay in bedliner. (paint used for truck beds) This might seem strange but it was a great choice cause this paint really makes the parts tougher. Later on the MX5 will get a respray, maybe the 180SX too but most of the body is alright so we'll see. Also, Phonexius gave me the old plate of his 180, it will look great on Skip's car. :D Nothing new for our AE86 yet, we're still gathering ideas for the build and searching for parts, so this project will take some more time.

180SX

Hey guys,
Haven't posted in a while, but since a few things changed I thought I should update.
So since the last update on my 180, we've swapped my Impul Silhouettes for a set of Work Equip E40 w/tires +V$100 my way, reupholstered the dash and stuck on some more stickers. I also bought Floor mats and a Tsurikawa and it's currently hanging on my rear-view mirror.

The plates are on now too. I had bought Ganador mirrors from David_2709 before I joined STS but I never fitted them, so they will be painted and fitted soon.

AE86

Me and Lagano spent some of today sanding and filling parts of the 86, we were later joined by 3Style who helped us primer some finished places.
We have an engine and suspension arms coming also so stay tuned.
I'm also looking for seats, bodyparts, practically anything for an 86. If you have anything you want to sell, hmu.

My SC400 is also for sale, check the used cars classifieds.

As Skip told you we sanded and primared our 86, but we're still missing some parts so the respray will have to wait. Same goes for the MX5 cause it doesn't have a hood and headlights, also there's some work waiting for us in the paint shop.
After sanding i got my hands on those 2JZ parts that i got from Japan a while ago, you can't really see the difference in the SC300's engine bay but we'll surely notice it when we do some test runs with it. :D The 2JZ has forged internals now so it's capable of holding a lot more boost!

The 2JZ will need some tuning so i might get some more upgrades before that.

We tried out 3Style's 180 after we put everything back together and colour matched the rear right fender, it's really fast even if the LS2 is completely stock! :D

The AE86 project is finally starting, more updates about it when its engine and suspension arrives! :D

It's been a while since the last update cause we had some work in our neighbour's paint shop, meanwhile the SC300 was at Takeda Racing shop being prepared for a drag competition which is coming soon. They did a whole lot of work there: First, they stripped some more interior parts and fitted all those gauges and buttons on the dashboard. They also changed some wiring for those buttons and installed a Momo steering wheel, after the interior work was done they tuned the 2JZ and dyno tested it.
The result is around 1150 HP and 900 ft-lbs of torque. :O

While the SC300 was at Takeda i ordered a set of D2 drag coilovers, which are a replacement for HKS Hipermax. I chose them because those HKS coils are long discontinued and you can't find them everywhere, and even if i would they would be way more expensive. Anyway, let's hope for some better launches now! :D I'm not sure about the suspension setup in general, i'll have to take a look at some drag cars to see what else i can change.
I also ordered these custom built Champion Speed Series wheels, but i still need some tires for them, hope the AoW guys can get me something!

When we brought the SC300 back home we installed the new coils, it sits a bit higher now but that's fine cause the suspension needs some space for drag racing. :P

After that we took off the air filter from the turbo intake pipe and extended it so it's now connected to the front bumper, where the foglights used to be. 2JZ probably has some more power now than at the dyno test cause it has optimal airflow! :D

I really wanted to try it out so i had to borrow a seat from Skip's 180SX. I could have the stock seat for now but i'll need it for the competition and until i find another racing seat, of course. Finally, i did some test runs in the evening and it's fast af! Launch wasn't the best cause the current tires are a bit used, but i'm sure it will be much better after i change them.

So the SC300 is pretty much ready for the competition, expect more updates after 20th April when i'll submit my entry and get more info about the competition. :)
We also did some work on the AE86! As you can see it's already primared but the respray will have to wait cause we're missing some bodyparts. Skip found this 3S-GE engine on Craigslist, he also bought a set of suspension arms and a transmission adapter plate from Auto Saloon Magicke.

The 3S fitted in the engine bay like a glove cause it's not very different from the 4A, same can be said for the transmission because of the adapter plate.

Our AE86 is slowly but surely becoming drivable! :D

^ Thanks, they will be even cooler haha :D

It's been a while since the last update cause we were quite busy, we also did some more test runs with the SC300.
The Champion Speed Series wheels that we got in the previous update are finally on the Lexus! Around a week later i also got a set of Hoosier drag slicks, 4.5 inch for the front and 11 inch for the rear. Right after the rims arrived i called Benjamin and asked if they have any drag tires in the shop. Well they don't have any for now, but he said "no problem mate you'll get your tires" and ordered one set for me.

The new rims make the SC300 look like a proper drag car, they're also way lighter! You can see that it has new brakes too. I ordered a StopTech 355mm big brake kit for the rear cause a drag car has to stop as quickly as it accelerates, especially on the streets! Now we're broke because of this but it's still better than running out of road. :P

Here's my entry in that drag competition i told you about a while ago, the Street Outlaws Motor Mayhem. I posted it on the 20th April, i didn't have the new wheels and tires installed then but it's allowed to make changes or to edit your entry. In this competition participants uploaded a short video of their drag car, so we went to the local drag strip to make one. The winner will be the competitor with the most votes for his entry, and will be announced on the 8th May, that's in 2 days so support us and vote while you can!! :) (i should've explained this to you much earlier but we were busy as i said)

After we changed the SC300's shoes i made a small change on the MX5. Those straight pipes were sticking out too much (but 3Style and Skip would be fine with that lol) and they were way too low so i bent them and joined the tips, but then the pipes were too high so i had to cut a piece of the rear bumper. I know i kinda copied @GoverNick but i just had to do it, i love how it looks now! :P

Fortunately we're not completely broke (yet) cause we got some money from parts that were laying around, we posted them on eBay a long time ago and everything got sold eventually. We got V$400 for the Mustang V6 auto transmission and torque converter, V$350 for SOHC cylinder heads with cams, valves and exhaust headers, V$550 for SC300 interior parts. (seats, dash console, carpets and mouldings)

We still have a complete 180SX interior so let us know if you need it! :)

This is just some info for later!

Looks like i got enough votes on Motor Mayhem cause i got in the Top 16!! The elimination races will start soon, but the competition is really tough with many pro drag racers out there. My turn to race will be in 2 days, so expect the next update then. Thanks for the support guys! :)

The race was pretty intense!! As i said the competition was way tougher than i expected, and a race against a 1200HP Mustang confirmed it!

We were neck and neck pretty much all the time, it seemed like we could have a chat during the race. :P

But in the end he got me for a little bit. *LINK* It was very close but i kinda expected that cause mostly the pros made it in the Top 16.

Before the race we had a look around the pits to check out the competition, there were many badass cars but i stopped at this beast for some more time. It's a legit Shelby, and i was pretty worried when i had found out this was my opponent! :D

This could have gone way better but we learn from failures, right? SC300 still has a lot of room for improvements so i'll definitely be faster in later competitions like this. While we'll think about those improvements we'll be at a different kind of event which we've been planning to go, Skip will tell you more about it soon. :)

Trip Update

So as Lagano said in his previous update, Me, Lagano, Phonexius and 3StyleLTU are going on a trip to a different country which we aren't going to say yet.
We are currently on the way over to the country and have two cars ready for us to buy.
We will be staying for quite a while, and we will be updating as we do stuff.
