Hmmm. Are you going to go for a functional setup, or is it going to be like the Bora again?

@marcus915 The Z is going to be a street spec drift car whilst the RSX is still undecided. I want to go onikyan but the potential of the K series motor makes me want to go with a setup that is able to be tracked

I am trying my hardest not to buy stuff for the rsx right now lol. # Smokiegun : Didn't expect and RSX but it sure is looking clean! Can't wait to see what you're gonna do with it, but forsure make it how you'd love to see it! Thanks man! yes I must say that the RSX was a rather odd choice considering the other cars ive owned, but I have always had this secret obsession with Hondas. I really want to get an ap1 s2000, dc2 type-r or ep3 type-R. If I am really lucky, I want to save up for a NA1 or NA2 nsx. Thank you for the support! |

First off I would like to thank all of you for the support when it comes to my builds! It makes me feel good to know that people take an interest in what I think looks good and like my style
7/23/16- After a little bit of a wait, all the parts I ordered finally arrived! I wasted no time getting everything installed, an bright and early this morning I was able to "push" the z33 down the street to Green Slip for an alignment. But wait Nic, are you still riding on the stockies??? Well, not exactly. All week I have been scouring the internet and found some amazing wheels for a great price. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my Racing Hart M5 wheels! I found these on Wednesday night as just faces and where able to order lips and barrels to make them complete. In their current build, they sit at 18x10 all around, and I am running a small spacer in the rear to help further fill out the arches. So this is how the car sits now! it is pretty much complete besides the paintwork, and I don't know if I want to go with a simple paintjob or have an artist attack it with one amazing wrap. Let me know what you guys think. There is a event over at MPI this weekend, I will be sure to take some pictures of the Z in action! P.S: I put my fabulous Wing back on, I still have mixed feelings I think I want to go bigger This post was edited by Driftphantom (2016-07-23 05:46, ago) |

Holy fucking fuck that Z33 is clean. At first i thought the wing was a bit much but now that it's lowered it really comes together well.

You know how I said that the Z was pretty much done? well, of course I dropped some more money and bought some stuff lol. I ended up with this gently used Original Top Secret hood for just V$650! Yeah the color isn't matched and is a little faded, but this car needs a paint job anyways lol. I was also lucky enough to stumble upon this "D-max Style" roof lip for V$150, I really like it, but it makes me almost want to take the Fabulous wing off. Idk let me know. I also went back in and adjusted the front camber settings, as I am getting ready for another event. the new stats up front are -4.0 which I hope will be sufficient with how flat MPI is. |

8/6/16- Happy 86 Day!
Hello all! We start out today's update with my beautiful z33 as I brought it home. The paint is stunning, so much so that I had to get it photographed To my surprise and to finish off the build, the guys over at Green Slip sourced me some used Bride Zetas to hold me in place while I skid. I got these babys for a cool V$700 Finally, a shot with with the engine exposed, a Nissan with a Toyota v8 Project RSX A little update on the daily RSX today! Here are some rollers from a little cruise last night. For this build I wanted to have a few parts that I haven't seen on the market for my dc5. first, there is the retrofitted 2006 front bumper. Rather than do the whole facelift, I decided to cut the bumper up to match the curves on my headlights. Speaking of headlights, Password JDM was able to overnight me some Integra Type-R headlights and Honda badges. Ahh I'm in love. As for the rear, I spent all week molding and shaping this one-off custom ducktail spoiler. I told you I had something special planed for the trunk to finish off the update, I had the fenders rolled and slightly pulled, as well as lowered the car some more. now we just wait for some new wheels and rubber for the baby This post was edited by Driftphantom (2016-08-15 02:12, ago) |

# GoverningNick : Hey, is there any more you're planning to do with that 350z? Currently I need to finish off the exhaust on the Fairlady, but I went out and picked up the piping today so I can have it finished up by tonight. but I was also thinking of slapping on some 08 projector headlights and maybe switching up the wheels # Lagano : Good job with the 350Z, it's something special with the 2UZ. On the other hand, the RSX still needs some work, what are your plans with it? # Smokiegun : The 350z looks dope! Can't wait to see what the RSX will become! Thanks both of you! The RSX is the daily Project, meaning I don't know where I am going but I know when it gets there I will be more than happy lol. one thing is for sure though, it will have massive amounts of camber, as I love the onikyan fitment |

Trans-ocean Transplant: A JDM 350z When I first heard of this Z, I nearly dropped my coffee. Not because of the body, not because of it's 2UZ swap, not because of anything visible on the car at all. I nearly dropped my coffee that morning because I heard of the story behind this car. So, you know how there is a rather good business of importing JDM specific parts, badges, and such so people in North American borders can have their cars closer to the 'real' thing? Well, circa 2011, the previous owner of this car bought this JDM Z33, imported it, and took nearly every panel, interior bit, and driveline bit off and put it in his USDM Z33 to make it more JDM-spec while still having a left hand drive layout. So, what do you do with a rolling shell of a RHD Z33 that's missing every panel but the doors, hood, trunk, doesn't have a motor, and has the stock running gear? Sell it to Nic (A.K.A. DriftPhantom) of course. Today, the car stands a bit differently from the bright yellow shell it was bought as. As there's a lot to go over with this car, I'm going to go category by category, like I did with Martin's Legacy. So, on the outside, I can't even blame Z or Nismo fans for not being able to name that bodykit. Why? Well, it's a rare one first of all. It's also a relatively uncommon brand in general, let alone the kit. Nic's Z wears a full Fabulous GT Sports kit, and also sports the accompanying spoiler. Additionally, Nic has swapped out the pre-facelift headlights and taillights from 2003, and put post 2008 facelift headlights and taillights there in return. It doesn't take a detective to spot the D-Max roof spoiler, either; another hard to find piece of work on this car. Finally, the OE hood has been swapped out for an authentic Top Secret hood, I don't even want to think about how long it took to find that hood, let alone half the parts on this car. Also, consider me a fan of the minty color the Z is today, it just pops all the right lines and angles in all the right ways. Moving on, some wheel nuts might be able to spot the make and model of the rather rare alloys on this Z. If you're not a wheel nut, don't worry, your buddy ol' pal Nick (with a K!) is here to help. Nic's 350z wears the rare, or uncommon if you ask the certain person, Racingheart M5 wheels all around. To be more specific, the Racingheart M5 in 18 x 10 specs. Now that's a big wheel! Also spotted are the OE Nissan brakes which apparently are decent enough to handle a heavier chassis like the Z33, and the Tein coilovers that the car proudly displays in all four corners. One of the biggest notes of this car (besides the rare body kit, the rare wheels, and the caged interior) has definitely got to be the engine under the hood. It's not a LS, it's not a VQ, it's not a RB, it's not a 2J, and (unfortunately) it's not a 13B. So, what is it? Well, it's got eight cylinders, and it's mainly used to power larger trucks and SUVs. If you thought the 2UZ-FE, you win! Nic told me that he initially had thoughts of mating the beefy Toyota V8 to the stock VQ35 transmission, but instead bought a R154 transmission that had been scooped out of a JDM Toyota by Garage Nine. As far as I know, the 2UZ is completely stock, which is enough, considering the near 400HP the eight-cylinder makes. All in all, I'm a huge fan of what's been done, and I'll be sure to try to see this car in action at the several drift events Nic has planned (as long as they're in America, that is). Want more? Come see our new central hub for everything Speedhunters. Article archive, online store, and more! Just click the link here! Want a post-by-post on Nick's FC and his other projects? 8/8/2016-
First off, I would like to thank the Man himself GoverningNick and the rest of the SpeedHunters crew for featuring my Z33. It is truly an honor and and makes me feel great that people can see the style that build cars. And I was eying up that FC as he was off shooting the car, and I must say the rotary engine make such a beautiful noise. I am excited to see what comes of that car. Project RSX Just a small little update on the rsx, I lowered it even more.. lol. We are back to tucking the stockies! I had alittle rubbing on the way to work today, so the dampening in the rear was bumped up so I don't eat my fenders to death lol. Who doesn't stop in the middle of the road to take a Pic? Last but not least, Here is a little roller This post was edited by Driftphantom (2016-08-15 02:17, ago) |

Thanks Jdm_Racer!
8/13/16- After being featured on speedhunters, I decided to "decorate" the rear windshield This car is now on a boat to Japan, as I will be on a little vacation there.. and you know I am going to tear up some tracks when I get there. I sent the car first so that when I arrive the car will already be there Project Rsx I finally got some new wheels on this beast. You know I like rare and exciting parts, so when I found these 17x10 Work Emitz wheels, I just had to scoop them up. The lips had slight rash on them when I bought them, so I ended up paying V$1200, plus an additional V$200 for a refinish on the lips. Look at that Tuck! I am loving the low life once again. Just look at it! This post was edited by Driftphantom (2016-08-15 02:20, ago) |

Hello all, just a small little update today. As you may or may not know, I have sent my z33 off to Japan so I can use it while I vacation there. with that being said, in the world of drifting you bound to smash up a chassis or two. and as beautiful as the Z is, I will not baby that car when I get it on track. So just in case the worst happens as I total out the Z, I have just bought this 240sx from TofuHachiroku for V$5000. I currently don't have any build plans for it, it is just a spare chassis. As you can see, the body is straight and pretty much all in one piece. the car still has its full interior. it even runs! which is a rarity when buying a 240 these days. the suspension is alittle on the poor side, but we will deal with that when the time comes. What really made me want to purchase this car was what is kept under the hood. Yep that is right, a full SR20 redtop swap. this SR also comes with a big turbo upgrade as well as a Greddy turbo manifold. not a bad deal for a spare ride. As you can see from the Pics I have the car sitting at Green Slip Automotive Center, as I don't have any room at my house at the moment |

# marcus915 : That RSX is a MAJOR step up from the Bora. Absolute love love love. Love the JDM front bumper and that ducktail, but that stance is serious! Thanks Man! I loved my bora build, but you can definitely see how my suspension geometry know-how has improved on the RSX. It is my favorite of my current builds, even if the Z is the one that gets the most glory lol # Phonexius : Phantom, phantom, phantom...To be honest I am starting love camber cause of your builds xD....Well dunno if u heared I moved from Germany to Japan (got my green card thanks to my old rp shop employer). I'll tell you like I told Phonexius, the car isn't properly registered lol, so if we get pulled over, we may just be walking home 8/17/2016- Z33- I have received confirmation that the Fairlady has landed in Yokohoma and is sitting in it's container safe and sound ready to be picked up. SO that means I should make my way over too!
