When i bought it:

I bought my first car!
I got a Toyota Supra for just 4500€! It's quite rare to find one in Slovenia, but getting one for that cheap is a miracle.
It's imported and it has no license plate, so it's not road legal. It was used a lot (more than 200000km) and it looks like they were drifting all the time.

It's the N/A version with around 200hp, one of the reasons it's so cheap. Needs a bit of cleanup though

The interior also needs to be cleaned up.

I drove it home anyway, because the police is on a strike but there was snow and ice, which means there was no grip at all.

At the moment it's at my friend's tuning shop. Later we will check if there's anything wrong.



The inspection:

For the last couple of days we took our time to do a complete inspection of the Supra. You should also take your time, because i have a lot to tell.

The engine is not really in good condition. (i already saw this when i bought it) We opened the cylinder head and it was full of oil, dirt and such crap. There may be more problems with the engine, so we will rebuild it and replace the parts that are in bad condition.
When we removed the engine, i noticed one thing that the previous owner didn't mention. There was some rust in the engine bay, which wasn't visible before.
I was a little scared... i removed some upholstery and...

There was rust. A lot of it. The car must have been parked in a humid place for a long time. It's just asking for a new paintjob.
Meanwhile i ordered aftermarket front and rear bumper for 1500€, because the stock bumpers were barely holding together. The sideskirts were recently replaced by the previous owner.

The next day we took the Supra to the paint shop. Fortunately the rust was not so bad, no welding was needed, but there was a lot of sanding to do.

The car is now completely rust-free.

It's primered and ready for painting.

So, the Supra is back from the paint shop! It wasn't cheap, but for now my friend, which owns the local tuning shop has taken care of the costs. He has some contacts from part dealers, so we may also save some money when we will order parts we'll need.

We also had a closer look at the engine and found out that the cylinder head won't last any longer. It needs to be replaced right away.
But there is also a good side: A 6-speed gearbox from the 2JZ-GTE, and an upgraded clutch and flywheel.



The internals are ok. If we'll have enough money we'll add some power to the engine because 200hp just doesn't cut it.


Later we will take a look at the suspension, because it's probably very worn from drifting. It needs harder handling, because i'm going to continue the same purpose.


New suspension and some decoration:

I haven't posted anything about the Supra for a while, mostly because i was searching for parts.
(I bought a HKS 2JZ from Lucky1913 and 19" rims from supahotfire. I sold the old engine to NK748.) Andrej, my friend who has the tuning shop, was more than happy about the HKS engine i found, but the rims seemed a bit too expensive for him, but he didn't mind, we got the engine for cheap anyway.
After we bought the parts needed, we decided for some decoration
Andrej managed to get some suspension parts from a local part dealer: K-Sport coilovers, front drift-spec suspension arms (more steering lock) and some 7" springs. For now i will probably keep the rear suspension arms stock, because the rear end drifts a lot. And that's exactly what i needed. You may have noticed that the front end is a little too high, but that's because there's no engine installed yet.


Final summation: We've done quite a lot of progress, i'd say we're almost done! But we're still waiting for the engine and the 19" rims to arrive.


A week later, the engine has arrived.
I have started a new week very good... because the 600hp 2JZ arrived!! Hell yeah!
We put it in the Supra right away:


I was so excited, i just couldn't wait to try out all that power, so i went on Korada (a hill in the middle of nowhere, few kilometers from my hometown) to shred some tyres. The road is barely wide enough for one car, but still, i was going well.

The Supra was almost done, actually it was already driftable, as you can see. The 19" rims still had to arrive, but i wouldn't fit them right away, because i wouldn't risk getting them scratched (they were quite expensive).

New wheels:
Another package has arrived for me: this time it was the wheels. I had to find some other tyres though, because these were a little too big, they were almost rubbing the fender.

That's all the work we've done on the Supra. It took more than a month to completely rebuild it, we were working hard all that time, it also costed a lot, but it was more than worth it! Just look at the final result.
