Hi guys!

My name is Chris, I am 25 years old and i live close to Pudsey town. I am a member of the local AE86 Club. I work as a graphic designer/web designer in Pudsey. I currently own a 1984 Toyota AE86, with stock 4A-GE engine, daily car.

I got the car at a local auction, for $5000, and since then, I done alot of improvements to it.

That's how it looks now:

List of body mods:
- ORIGIN carbon fiber front quarterpanels
- Hood opens both ways, to the front, and normal
- ChargeSpeed front bumper lip
- VERTEX sideskirts and rear bumper
- white fog lights.
- front and rear overfenders (thanks to BB93 for them, they came from Japan)

List of interior mods:
- Bride Zeta III seats
- Momo steering wheel
- JDW SL rollcage

List of running gear mods:
- front and rear strut bars
- rear sway bar
- HKS Hipermax 6" springs
- HKS Hipermax III adjustable shocks
- 278mm Brembo brake discs
- 4 piston Brembo calipers
- 16" AG Forged F110 rims with 215/40/R16 tyres.

The next thing i will do is the paintjob. I like the current yellow color, but i will paint it ivory white soon. Now the car is being taken apart so i can send the chassis to be cleaned and painted.

The biggest problems is the engine. Because of it's age, i don't want to fiddle with it too much, so i am looking to buy one an swap it. The best bet is probably a JZ....will see.

Well, yesterday I took the car to a friend's garage, and started to take it apart, so I can send the chassis to be repainted.

We started with the front end of the car..

The body is completly stripped right now, after more than 10 hour of work...it was exhausting. Well, i don't know what was more exhausting, the car job, or the tequilla job...since i will be a pedestrian for about a week, until the chassis and the rest of the parts will be painted, i had to find some sort of hobby..:D
Some of the parts will be painted by myself, some by my buddy from the club. We sure hope to finish quick, because this is my daily driver.

Hi guys!

I have been missing for some time, but while I did so, I hunted down a car that I really wanted for some time, and i found it.
In the meantime, the '86 was painted and assembled, and it's now ready to roll. Here's some pics:

This is the final result, and the final shape of the car, i will not mod it further, because i really love the way she looks right now.

I must say, i am really in love with this little car, and i will keep her as my daily, though it doesn't look like one. But the suspension is great, gives a really smooth ride, the engine will remain stock, and is very reliable and cheap to run, the interior ressembles a track car, wich i like...all in all, it's a comfortable car for me, cheap to run, and looks really good in my opinion.

Now, for about a year, I've been trying to get a hold of a Nissan 350z. Found some, but they were kind of "prepped" cars, lovely ofcourse in the eyes of their owners. But i wanted a stock one, so i can work on it, and tune it the way i want. So i found this Nismo 350z, was a donor car for the owner's, more race-oriented Nismo. It's from 2006, 116000Km's, VQ35DE 3.5 i V6 24V (283 Hp). The engine is missing some parts, so it doesn't run now, but that's not a problem, since i want to swap it for a 38DETT.

Interior is pretty clean, and the passenger seat is missing.
Has some rust here and there, because in that garage it was a lot of moisture, but that's manageable. A lot of body parts are also missing, and so are the original Nismo wheels, the car now is equipped with some steelies.
This car cost me V$6500. I took it home with me, on a flatbed provided by the guy who sold it, and now it's being stripped, and getting ready to be painted soon. Dunno what color should i choose though...will see.

Added 20 minutes later:

Yess! Found a really nice colour to paint the car.

Maybe it will have a deeper purple highlight, but i love that blue paintjob on that one in the photo.

# e-racer : who will be prepared 350z? :)

Well, mostly I will do the job, and i have a friend (Bob) who comes by my place to help me out if i need help. He is a member of the AE86 club, as i am. And if someone else wants to help me with this project, it's ok.

Now we sand blasted the rust on the body, so Bob can start doing it's magic. Pics later.

Added 1 hour 42 minutes later:

Progress with the body:

The rust has been completely removed, and now I will start to apply the primer. I am in luck, because in this garage we have a oven to bake the paint, so the process should be pretty quick. By tomorrow, i hope i can finish this stage of the build.

You have a lot of work to do with it. I think you overpaid it, 6500V$ is a lot. You can get a fully functional 350Z for 7500, you know. Do you have all the parts for it if you're preparing it for painting? :)

well, i'm still a driver door, front and rear bumper, and sideskirts short. I already bought them from a specialised Nissan store, and i'm waiting for them to arrive. I went for the standard Nismo bodykit, but i;m having trouble finding a proper engine for this car. I want a VQ38DETT 3.8l V6, but it's so damn hard to find one in good condition. If any of you guys know one laying around, tell me.

Added 2 minutes later:

And yes, i paid a little bit too much for her..sadly. The problem was that i could buy one for 7100V$, but it was over tuned, more like a ricer car, and it had about 400k mileage...

Last night we applied the primer to the chassis.

And I managed to apply the first coat of paint:

The body parts arrived this morning, full Nismo bodykit, with carbon fiber inserts. Looks really good, and i can't wait to mount them, but first, they need to be painted too.

Bodykit is now assembled and painted. Finally!

The windows were sent to be tinted, and they will arrive tomorrow. I'm going to the previous owner of the car, he found me the engine i was looking for. Some guy who crashed his Z33 is selling it, and i hope i can score some more parts from that busted car.

Everything is slowly coming together! I think the colour is too bright, you'll make someone blind with it. :)) But if you really want to stand out, you nailed it. ;)

Yeah, it starts to look like a car. And it's not going to be that bright, i'm waiting for Bob to come with a catalog to choose the purple shade i want. This is just the base color.

I just arrived at the garage where the busted Nismo is being held right now, and boy, that bastard is lucky he didn't broke anything and he's still alive. He crashed the rear end of the car pretty badly. I'll post pics later.

Added 53 minutes later:

Well, this car days are certainly over...

The owner, Matthew, used this car mainly for drifts and other events. Yesterday, while he was on the track, shit happend. The engine of the car in front of him blew up, spilling oil all over the track. Matt didn't had enough time to brake, and tried to avoid the collision. But he hit the oil on the track, while braking, at 160km/h, then the car hit a concrete wall, with the rear end. The good thing is that he's fine, just some bruises, and the engine was not affected.
The car chassis bent so much, that the driver's doos doesn't close now, and the carbon fiber hoos simply shattered to pieces. Rear right suspension broke off too..
Matt will help me to get that engine out, those marvellous Bride seats, and some other goodies for my Z. He also has some spare parts laying around, and i hope he'll give me some discount for them.
