The Start

Hey there! I'm LoganC, I live in Kōfu the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan and I am a employed/qualified Auto Refinisher! Cars have been my life since I was little and living in New Zealand. I moved to Japan about 6 years ago and I've loved it ever since! Anyway this is my thread for you to follow me as I live my life and build some sweet rides!

As of right now I have no idea what I want to build, but what I do know is I've got V$20,000 so far to put into my project! I'll let you guys know when I've got myself a car to begin work on! Peace!

Right so I got a car! Something I never thought I'd own... Its a 73' Camaro Z/28.

The bodys in great condition for its age with 160,000ks on the body and no rust! Also primered and ready for paint. The previous owner had started to make it a Gasser! Its fairly stock apart from the LS3 from a 2010 Camaro, with a set of ITB's and also a set of headers.

I picked her up for V$11000 which is a steal! Anyway here she is:

My plans are to make this a seriously tough street car but on the cheap!
So Ill try do as much of the work done myself but Ill no doubt need help. But first I need to replace these old, skinny and crappy wheels/Tyres!

Looks like a Perfect project. I love gassers but i've never seen a '73 Camaro as a gasser but it's definitely creative.
((Is that the gasser front suspension mod? if so how'd you get it to work))

Thanks dude! I personally hadn't either until I saw this, so I just had to buy it! A few big things planned for her as long as money allows :)

( Its is yes and I haven't had any problems with it? So i'm not sure what you're talking about sorry :( )

interesting car! Didn't expect you to buy one of those, would've definitely thought you would go for an R-chassis or S-chassis knowing your NZ roots haha. You're in Yamanashi? Maybe I'll take a drive over there sometime.

Thinking of some steelie kind of wheels with drag slicks of course and I think I may do a simple livery at some point later on.

Marcus, I surprised myself too! But I wanted to try something outside of the box instead of the usual S-chassis life. Also sure thing come stop by sometime!

This will definitely be interesting! Curious though, where are you going to run the car? Sendai Hi-Land closed in 2011 and that's basically the only last good place for drag racing in Japan..unless you plan on streeting?

Its definitely going on the street! Although not daily. Considering its only pushing around 450HP at the moment its fairly streetable but that figure is going to increase.

Engine overall is pretty good its not running right though due to the previous owner not getting it tuned after installing the ITB setup but other than that it just needs a clean down which Ill be doing soon! As for the not running 100% issue it'll be going back to EFI setup soon to make way for other things!

Coprone, It may be but this was a apperently sitting in a shed for many years.

And thanks for all the feedback on my build so far!

Added 1 hour 44 minutes later:

Got my plates for the Camaro today, so had to throw them on and take it for a drive!
Really not sure how they allow this death trap on the roads but it is so look out Japan ;)

Also did a street quarter mile to see how she goes, ran a 14.7 which is kind of bad. Although the rear tyres are almost ripped to shreds due to having no traction for most the quarter mile and of course a few burnouts! :) Time to buy some new wheels/tyres and I'm thinking a nitrous kit to boost the top end power.

The tyres alone are around 10 years old yet i'm aloud to drive it on the road ahahah.

And yeah it does Ey papa it's putting down 470hp but I think it's mostly the gearing because it just isn't working right.

Anyway thanks guys! If this LS doesn't work out then there will be a huge surprise for it ;)

Probably Gear Ratios, Check on some Camaro or Corvette forum for the best gear ratios, It will probably help

So I sold the Camaro to a collector in Tokyo for V$13250 a few days and am now on the hunt for something that likes to be sideways...

I think I did something stupid...

I bought this for V$8000 site unseen and know nothing about it...
All I know is it runs/drives and I got this picture from the owner.

Picking it up this afternoon and seeing what I've bought.

Its been awhile since my last post and basically the S14 was a heap of shit and was a total waste of money so I got rid of it meaning haven't had a car for some time. I drove a friends Mugen DC5 and liked how it drove and how reliable it was so I decided to pick myself up a DC5 Integra Type-R about a month or so ago. I haven't posted it till now due to only starting modding it recently. After driving it stock for a month or so I thought that the car needed personalization. So first things first here she is in all her stock Vtak beauty!

I really love the colour and how well it brings out the lines of the car.

So I bought some Fortune Auto 510 Coilovers from the US which was super expensive and cost just shy of V$3000 Including shipping. I did a lot of research and they seem to be some of the best coil's on the market without going into 2 or 3 way dampening and all that. So I went to the Yamanashi Vstanced garage to fit them because I wanted to also change oils and swap out spark plugs too and didn't have the time to do it all myself, anyway they got installed and we set the ride height to a usable height first. Here they are on the car although you can't notice the difference too much but first thoughts they feel great!

Dropped into Upgarage the other day and for a set of wheels for the DC5 and came out with a set of AVS Model 5's in 17. I also got them powdercoated white and think the result is great(Also lowered the car down more)
