Hi guys! This is the first time I write in this forum and I was thinking that show our WIP is the better way to introduce myself.
We (me + two friends) are tryin' to create a complete and customizable motorcycle for SLRR; the project is called TPB900: TPB means "Tuning Passion's Bike" (TP is the name of a car and bike tuning workshop owned by me and another member of the project), while 900 is the displacement (in cubic centimeters). Bike is not finished yet: 3D modelling is complete, but we're still working on the scripting part for the running gear. You will have to be patient: when we started this project we were completely unexperienced with SLRR modding, so we encountered a lot of troubles. Plus, we do this just for hobby, we have to go to work and at the college, so we work at the project just occasionally. You will have to be patient, sorry. BUT... we have a good news: the bike engine is complete and fully working! So, we decided to release it for now, to promote our project. I hope you will like it. FEATURES Displacement: 900cc Peak shaft power: about 160 HP in stock conditions, with a little bit of tuning and using aftermarket parts it can reach about 185 HP Peak shaft torque: about 120 Nm, about 135 with tuning and racing parts N2O available, with unique 2.5 lbs bottle especially designed for motorbikes 30 stock engine parts 3 aftermarket parts (custom throttle bodies and N2O system) Custom sounds (a bit crappy for now tough) SPECS Bugs: NONE with MWM afawk Modelling specs: about 150K faces and 75K vertex Release weight: about 17 MB uncompressed PICS (click to enlarge) IMPORTANT NOTES Please consider that is only the 1.0 version of the engine; everything works, no known bugs and so on, but we're developing some cool other stuff (mainly other aftermarket/racing parts) that we will release probably after the rest of the bike. Every feedback and suggestion are welcome! Hidden

This is really cool. It would be nice to see a bike in game. Could you post some pictures of the bike (if possible)?

I know which bike you're talking about, but I think they are making a new one, I would download the one from GOM again, If it was still up

Yup, we made a first release @GOM a LOT of time ago, but it was nothing more than a frame with a bunch of crappy fairings. The current bike is way much different and better than that, because everything was almost re-made from scratch. Here's a quick preview:
Just a small remark. We want to do a "street legal" bike (with headlight, indicators, taillight, two seats, et cetera), so we're working on the fairing design in order to fit all that stuff. Front fairing especially is temporary, because it's hard to find a good position for headlight and front scoops, and we will probably have to edit it many times before reaching a good compromise. (that is the reason why the airbox shape seems to be a little "chopped": first of all we need to create the air scoops on the fairing, then we'll fit the airbox intakes to the scoops) |

Ciao Tommy!

@BB93: Ciao We used some of the sounds you provided us, modifying them with Audacity (a free and open-source audio editing software). I tried to record my GSX-R, but we dont' have any "professional" recording stuff, so every time the mics becomes saturated (bike is too loud)
@Snowfox: the v1.0 will probably bend very slightly, or it won't bend at all; we're encountering some physics issues that are pretty hard to correct. Right now our priority is to release something nice-looking, drivable and bug-free asap; then, we will make updates improving the handling, in order to make the bike act as a real bike. |

if it can drift, it's all good.
no actually, nice idea. What's gonna be with the physics to bike stand up? |

@mh_design
Cable routing will necessarily be done after completing the fairings; if you have any idea for other details that could make the engine more realistic please tell us Our goal is to release a bike, so for now I'm sorry to say that every engine update will be done esclusively for this purpose. After the release of the TPB v1.0, well, we will consider the possibility to create a "car version" for the engine (with different exhausts, no chain drive, etc). @Coprone: Motorcylce-type tires have a "donut-like" shape, they are not flat so a bike will necessairly fall without a stand. For this reason, we used some invisble meshes. |

inb4; the game doesnt recognize the tyre shape
the only way(i guess) to make it work as bike would be using ONE front wheel and TWO(very narrow from eachother) rear wheels so that once you stop it, it should stay vertical and when you run it should be unbalanced enough to tilt.. not sure if it would stay tilted halfway or end like a fish out of water tho xD |

Just for information: we've done some small fixes, including
-deleted dev stuff forgotten inside the release folder (new uncompressed weight: about 10.5 MB) -new airbox (we've finally decided air scoops design) -fixed some misspelling errors -now you can adjust final reduction ratio by clicking on the front sprocket -fixed a couple of texture errors (eg mufflers holes) So, here comes the engine v1.1! Same download link as before, check first post. Let us know if you have any bug report, suggestions etc |

Yeah, we started the bike project a lot of time ago, but then because a huge lack of time, and some hardware failures, it was shut down.
Then, a few weeks ago, we've re-started the project almost from scratch; this time the developement is going much faster than before, so... this is it, this time we'll release a full-working bike, no matter what Please note that this topic is intended to be focused only on the engine; after the completition of the running gear (right now we're debugging physics and scripts) we'll create another topic for it, so be patient PS: thanks to KeeJay for having emphasized download link, I'll add it in my signature too |
