1st of all, if this topic is not allowed, please delete it.

But i wanna start a topic to make Vstanced bigger.

So, my idea is, place tips/hint/options to advertise/promote Vstanced.

Here is mine:

Maybe modderators on GOM/SLRRbr and the other SLRRsites, can send a PM to all of
their members with a link of Vstanced,( i dunno if that is possible) kinda spamming, i know, but most of them shall take a look on the site.

My opinion....

MAKE VSTANCED.COM BIGGER !!

they dopeys idea is not really possible it is PHYSICALLY possible but no one will do it :)

the marks idea is good but we already that notice the videos/released FROM vstanced team all have the "vstanced.com" mentioned.. ill do the sigs one day for all to use if you feel like but these won't increase the activity by a lot or even a little to make it noticeable..

we need something to get people ACTIVE on the site.. if we had lets say 50 members who are ACTIVE the site would look a lot more busier.. the numbers don't do anything.. the active members do it.. the ones who post/comment/rate/download etc.. well like you dopey/mark etc..

I think we should make a nice competition maybe use Funky cars and make Rally with different stages like we did once in gom, or maybe time attack with different stages. .

the problem with comps is that not many people can actually be bothered to join.. think about it the xmas comp is like really good not a lot of effort with a BIG prize.. we are yet to get 10 members to join.. which sucks big time.

We have everything in our hands. . Do something different, make something insane, go worldwide, be for everyone, be the best.

The reason why no one join your competition, because is kinda weird. . Like for me, it's just to weird, bored and don't know not fun to do that. . Also some peoples like something different, just do different, something different, something BIG and insane.

I've been thinking about hosting a competition series, with like a round every couple of weeks, with the round details and rules given out 1 week before.

Every round could be different, maybe Time Attack one week, rallycross another, drag etc etc all with different rules regarding car entry.

Points would be awarded per round then a winner crowned at the end of the series (6 months or a year or something)

Just unsure if anyone would participate.

in my opinion the main problem is. how we can get the site more popular. for example when i look on gom in the car part search topic people ask for the golf2. so most of the people dont even know vstanced.

what we can do?

the first point would be that we show wips on gom and announce projects what gets released soon. cause vstanced has good and active modders! and the releases should on vstanced only, so that the people have to come to this site.

the second thing is when we have enogh members, what check the site more often, then we can start to host competitions.

and always keep in mind that slrr lives only with community and so always will come new people around and ask newbie question. what i want to say with that that we have to be friendly also to new members/slrr players.

thats it waht i can say for the moment what i have in my mind and for the future i will just release my mods the on vstanced like it is with the mk2 :)

so have a nice day :)

the release on vstanced only could be a problem as kietekas and other sites comes and steal them as soon as their out..

i agree with roli ! the same problem for a long time on gsm ! many registrated users, many clicks per day but the most users are not active in the forum !
users comes...look what is new ( dl, pics...) and leave the site! i think same is here on VS!?
so what we can do?!
more mods?!
show wip on more slrr sites?!
maybe a complete mod slrr for download ( replace the stock slrr cars, new menus and icons, new dacals ... )
a stance version of slrr?! :)

but i think the biggest problem is this...
on gom are many modders like robban, skyline, tommi, d1 racer...
and here on VS... two or three modders...
JC ( grudas ), jaziba ... and ?! IDK

you know what i mean? :P
sorry for my crappy english ;)

Votze !!! answer your pm's bro ! :P :P

But ontopic, i think its difficult.
Like Roli and Dennis said, most of the people only registrate to DL stuff, or ask things.
Maybe we have to do more competions...

And to be honest, and no offense Hakosabi, i think the X-mass competition is fun.
Its simple, and easy to do for everyone.
But i know it sucks big time that there only a few members are active to do a x-mass job.

Maybe i step outside the door and scream "VSTANCED.COM, VSTANCED.COM, COME AND SEE IT !! VSTANCED.COM" hehehehehe

Well, I wouldn't do that PM thing Dopey mentioned in the OP, given that GOM already has a VStanced banner, and mods with VStanced stuff. Not to mention your VStanced signatures.

The site should broaden it's "area of expertise", so it won't be just SLRR / LFS / automotive stuff. And if you are to keep this "theme", I say you come up with a big project. I could make sure it would get some publicity on GOM, but then again, I'm not sure if that would attract active users, or just leechers.

Dunno if it's possible on this site, but what if you could restrict some downloads to active members that actually post here. Like a VIP DL section but instead of paying money, you just have to be active here. Then we could release Beta's, special mods etc under this and it would get rid of the leechers.

yeah something liek that sounds really good.

or maybe we can gift some active people. for example: after 500 senceful posts the user can get a brandnew muffler and after 1500 posts users can get a quickconverted car of his choice.

but waht its pretty annoying is that u get access to the dl section after 3 or 5 posts. that would be pretty stupid and i think the forum would be full of spam. if u remember ger-tech had that some time.

but now i really want to hear someting of the admins of vstanced what they will change or do to make to site more attractive :)

Yes but if you make it something like so many posts per month gives you access, and you have to wait for the first month, that will weed out the spammers and leechers because they don't have the attention span for that kind of thing.

i like some of the ideas :) the one's d1 suggested for e.g. i have been considering for long.. since i don't mind releasing my BETA mods which i share with mates for the active members too.. the problem i guess would be them getting leaked.. :)

the restriction of download well as i've said it would make the numbers bigger on the "member" list but won't make the website any more active. obviously i want to keep download access to all.. we can see systems like "money/paid vip" on kietekas for e.g. not working at ALL i mean you get a shit load of spam and thats all..

the rolis idea with gifts is really good i guess one problem we would get is actually MAKING the gift.. i mean sometimes people get busy with their own lives and just can't get the "gift" done it time if you know what i mean.. im not saying it isn't possible tho! :)

drifter - well honestly i do try hard to get this site going its just i guess the lack of intrest that fucks it up.. i guess you are right.. if we get some thing BIG i mean a GOOD idea to attract people we would get the activity we want.. i vstanced is quite new site.. and we get 200+ unique visitors a day.. which is a good amount.. the problem i guess is that they open-look-leave with no intention to come back..

the WIP topics on gom is quite good idea.. but i guess all the active members already know of vstanced who would be posting on gom :)

acyd - the number of modders i guess is not a problem.. i mean after all we get the permission to release the mods from robban and so on so the mods still get to vstanced and some peeps like robban/d1racer do post a bit here too :)

++++++++++++++++++++++

after all its a hard job to get the site going i would suggest good updates from the members like submiting news? pictures/video w/e you feel is newsworthy on vstanced would be good.. since you know alone i can't really get it all done in time i mean.. for e.g. now my free time is GF/bmx/college rarely do i get proper time to do something on the website but i do try to get the time to post news and so on..

So yeah if you want to submit something some good video? set of pictures? and don't know exactly how to do it PM me and ill explain it no problem :)

also thanks a lot for all the suggestions its good to hear them and im sure ill consider some of the ideas as some are really good.

we really need to get in business and finish the Forza proyect. i mean the cars are "almost" ready, diego already released the track, so we are only missing the ingame graphics... and a few more things.

we can advertise more the project and finish it... that will bring more users IMO

bmw needs - glows redone... catalog cleaned..

s5 - needles, flaps, suspension and catalog

jag - needles, suspension, flaps, catalog..

ram - suspension, glows, needles, catalog, flaps..

subaru - pretty much needs to be redone

ferrari - just some minor things.. holes? flaps? suspension..

for my cars around 4-6hrs work.. catalog screens are done.. paintjobs fixed.. sounds - easy.. maps there too.. :)

one other thing is we can to to focus an new moedders. that mean we can or better we should create new tutorial how slrr works. cause the all in one tut david_69 has done a few years ago. it isnt the standard anymore. we need a new one with new reflection etc also a explanation of the new tools. for example francos coordinates script. we are very international here so maybe all of us can do a tut in the native language.

Good, now, get some info people would be interested about, make a teaser pic or record something (don't forget to crop out what isn't needed ;) ) and then pass it over so I can get some teaser stuff up on GOM, telling them to go check this VS exclusive project out etc. etc.

well... yeah... i made a tut for scripting parts in place, but it's using my coordinate scipts :p not everyone uses it...

and then for rims, my app it's usefull too, and with the other one you can easily edit part names and other things like price, description, rim diameter and width...

i will have to release a tut when i release the applications. so i guess that making a tutorial of the "traditional" way to mod it's the way to start, and as you said, only explain a few things then the rest it's repeat the same process...

then when i release my stuff i will explain how to use the "new" way to mod.. at least my way :D

Righty, dont know if I should comment or not...but here it goes anyway.

Vstanced reminds me a lot of DefaultCreation back in the day. We grew out from GOM, made our own site and pretty soon we started doing new and more advanced stuff, franco and some other guys should remember the renders and stuff we made.

the thing is...we didnt manage to advertise ourselves very much, we were a closed community and we liked that. And that is why we died.

I see a lot of the things I valued on DC here too. You have a somewhat closed community, mods that are only available on vstanced and so on. Dont go the the same way that DC did.

im not really sure how possible are slrr communities that are international when there is a titan like GOM already there.
SLRRbr is good cause it focuses on a certain group of people for who, english isnt the language they speak fluently, same with GSM. What you guys have to do, is figure out what makes you stand out from GOM. and if you do that, you can concentrate on that group of people who are intrested in what you (vstanced) stands out for.

we rarely have the mods vstanced only :) mainly the betas that get "vstanced exclusive sticker" on.. i guess now its just peoples preference where they want to spend their time gom or vstanced since vstanced is like a tiny gom.. lol :)

im exchanging the banners with other slrr websites.. so its all good atm :) one day we'll find what attracts the people more aye? ;)

Added 1 minute later:

and vstanced is well about VIRTUAL STANCE if you remember we had a lot of BS going on us at gom about stanced/slammed cars and so on.. which was just annoying since you never got a proper feedback on your car.. :)
