Sup guys, I'm trying to bake some new parts for Skylines' 240SX, the mesh here which BiggBoss93 might know, was taken from rFactor SP Mod - imported to ZModeler2 then exported as .3ds, and then import to 3DS MAX.

I've tried to export the mesh with ZModeler 1.07b, but it looks screwed up in 3DS. Then I tried ZModeler2 it look like this:

What should I do to recover those messy triangles?

Just weld it and add smoothing groups.

Added 33 seconds later:

Getting rid of triangles isn't necessary unless you want to meshsmooth it.

The thing I want to get rid of is those blocky surfaces in perspective view, I'll try what you said and see if it works.

***EDIT***

Oh well that's weird... it doesn't react when I click a smoothing group!

if mesh is pretty lowpoly, convert it to editable poly, then do a vertex veld with 0.001 value and in the end apply smoothing groups for your taste.

Added 14 minutes later:

You can send me the model. I'll give it a look for ya.

Well it somehow worked for me, but I'm still not satisfied with the result.

I'll just put my model here, so you can check out what's the problem.

Wow, much better than it was, thank you, IceD B)

Added 28 minutes later:

Baked up the scale and did a in-game test:

I believe you've done your best, all I need is proper materials and coordinates it will be good to go.

BB you know you have all my respect, but to be honest I'm sick of all those "you stole my mods" stuff.

If you want to talk about "stealing"... can we take "conversion" as a kind of stealing? Because of all those overused Forza Motorsport models? We take Turn10's models, just like those GTA kiddos take our models... We all take something from others' hand, ye?

I'm not picking a fight here, I'm just doing things I wanna enjoy. If you wanna blame me for entertaining myself, go ahead. Because I think you're taking it WAY TOO SERIOUS.

And according to our boss, yes, I'm not planning release this model, it's gonna stay VIP like all others.

I agree with you in some points, when we use forza models we're doing it without permission.

Tho there is a really "small" difference between taking models from a multi trilionarie company(microsoft) and taking it from a whatever douche like me.

Taking models from fm and converting them to *insert here a videogame* is comparable to Robin Hood stealing from rich people and giving it to poors, doing it from the random douche(without asking permission or at least give credits) is like stealing money from your mother's bag(stupid since you could simply ask).

This is my opinion and i wont change it, as i said above i agree with you on some points, one of them is not wanting a fight(even if i like explaining my opinions), so if you want feel free to keep doing that, i'm nobody to tell you what to do.
