Took the Mustang to the drag strip today! I did a few runs during test and tune to get a benchmark for my build. It ran a 14.7 @ 95 MPH
I've got quite a bit of work to do, as my goal is to get into 10s maybe mid 9s. My plans are to get some drag spec coils and some entry level slicks, nothing extreme yet. I'm gonna do all bolt-ons and then move into internals and then nitrous. I'm doing my best to avoid forced induction and keep it all natural. My buddy only took two pics that weren't awful This post was edited by 420blazescope (2016-04-16 05:27, ago) |

Also bought a Ford Transit Van as my daily and to use to transport stuff to and from the strip. Cost me $800, has 300000 miles on it.

# Jdm_Racer : Nice cars but i like more the transit do you had any idea of cusromization on she?No not really, I might paint it or get it new rims but I don't want to spend much money on it at all. I tried to do a 0-60 test but its so slow it can barely get up to 60 lol. |

# Jdm_Racer : ok but just a question what engine this transit uses? Its the stock 2.0L I4 (im using the 1.8 bialbero engine ingame to get realistic power and speeds) Added 42 minutes later: Bought two 15x11 Weld S71s (&700) and two Low Profile Hoosier Drag Slicks ($800) to go with them. They fit well, I will be getting a suspension overhaul kit soon from QA1. This post was edited by 420blazescope (2016-04-16 17:55, ago) |

Beginning the process of taking the current engine out. Keeping the new engine a secret for now. It makes a lot of power

Of course you will have a lot of power, this is the most important thing in drag racing. You should also do some weight reduction, so you will have a great power to weight ratio.

BIG UPDATE
Time to reveal the engine! Well atleast the engine parts. I ordered all the parts for the engine and they have arrived. I am super excited to get this thing put together and get it on a dyno. Here is the list of all the parts and other various things I ordered. I'm keeping it ford baby $2000 World 351W Block $1200 Eagle Stroker Kit (Crankshaft, Connecting Rods, Pistons) $1500 Brodix Track One Cylinder Heads & Covers $800 Trickflow Stage 5 Cams $1250 Trickflow Trackheat-R Lower and Upper Manifold $600 Throttle Body, Injectors, & Fuel Rail $200 Ford Racing Flywheel $800 RXT Clutch $2000 5spd Drag Tranny (AUTO) $300 Long Headers $1000 Nitrous Kit $900 Various bits and bobs $300 Used Giant Cowl Hood $500 Drag Parachute Subtotal: $13,350 Discount: $3,338 $25% Off (Sponsorship) Thanks Summit Racing! Total: $10,012 This takes a HUGE portion out of my wallet, but it was worth it imo. Drag Racing is VERY expensive, but winning races should get me my money back. As you can see it is a 350 "Small Block" with a 427 stroker kit. Its fully loaded, and I'll be running one stage of nitrous. The cowl hood is so everything fits well, and the parachute to get the car stopped faster. |
