Hi, I'm Hyped. I work at Crown Autoworks, and I drive a 1999 Nissan Stagea imported from Japan.
It currently has a stage 1 turbo kit for the Rb25DET, and a full set of Enkei Rpf1's. Its taken a big chunk out of my savings, but all in good fun! (Total spent on car so far = V$7,354) Here's some pictures of the car |

Been keeping my build on the down low, but the r34 front clip was finished last night, the wiring harness is completely hidden. The clip is still blue from the donor but that's soon to be color matched. Here's some pics. I'm also planning on making this thing produce some serious power

Well 3 months later, and I've just been sitting on my ass avoiding working on my own cars.
But the wait for my precious to get from Japan to my humble abode in California, had ended. My S14 has finally arrived. With slightly discolored panels and a healthy SR20DET. The car sounds like any angry bee hive, and has a massive exhaust pipe loud enough to destroy your eardrums. |

The D1SL Dilemma Most anyone can remember the days of the D1 series in Japan, from the Grand Prix to the Street Legal, the D1 series is what really brought drifting to the world's eyes. My personal favorite series of the D1 family was the street legal, where road-registered took to the track and went at it like the hundred thousand dollar purpose built race cars did. So, understandably, when I discovered Hyped's recent import, a decently modded S14 Silvia with (what I see as) a D1SL tribute theme, I jumped at that like Simone. The first thing that grabbed my eye was the livery this S-Chassis wears. It's bright, it's flashy, and it's authentic. So authentic, in fact, I had to censor part of it. Also spotted in this picture are the Enkei 92s in 16x10, wrapped in Dunlop Direzzas. Good tire choice, if you ask me; mostly because my FC's got Direzzas. Additionally, the trademark red calipers of an aftermarket brake kit can be seen through the spokes of the Enkeis, the kit in question being a 4 piston Brembo system on every corner of the car. Finally, the Silvia sits on a set of Greddy coil overs. Looking at the car from another view spills much more about it, both on the outside and inside. On the bottom left corner of the hood, an ice cream cone with the text "Brrr" on it is proudly presented, it's neon colors clashing with the mild lavender of the overall car is a magnificent fashion. Being honest, I've got no clue what it's supposed to mean, but I like it anyway. Also spotted livery-wise in this shot is the Crown Auto banner, who did this wrap, and the number '78'. Nice! Additionally, a quick glance through the air ducts on the aftermarket reveals the aftermarket intercooler that helps the Red Top SR20DET inside breathe. According to Hyped himself, the SR20 is only lightly modded, producing 300 HP. A good number, if you ask me, but I still prefer the 400 of my own FC. However, what the Silvia beats the RX-7 engine-wise is the exhaust, mine's still stock, but Hyped's? Well, Hyped's exhaust is a straight pipe all the way through to a HKS exhuast tip. It's deafening under throttle, and the idle is enough to feel it in your chest. Back to the D1SL car theme I mentioned earlier, I love how it's been pulled off with this car. It's a great callback, but it's not held back by the mantra of period correctness. Instead, it adapts the old, dated style to modern times, and mixes both of them not unlike a butler with two fine wines. All things considered, I don't have any faults with this car. Not that I commonly do have faults with feature cars, but I feel that I am attracted enough to this car to point that out as a sort of compliment. I like where this is going, and I personally urge Hyped to keep at it, and never stop with this car. Want more? Come see our new central hub for everything Speedhunters.
