Did the previous owner know the worth of his own car? Your cousin practically stole it at that price. Won't be a cheap fix though.

Updates on MX5, since a couple people were interested before I've been working hard on it.

The night of my last update the car was ready for paint but then I got the bright idea to go wider before painting.

Fronts were cut and we used some sheet metal to get the style I wanted. Fronts were pulled 1 3/4 inches on the lip. Rears are bolt on flares so the rears were just cut to make room. Car was primed one last time and then went to paint.

This morning the final clear coat was finished and I was able to start applying vinyl. Thus was born, Street Shark MX5;

Not sure what I'm going to do about wheels, but these don't belong to me :)) I sold the Hayashi's and these are my friend's wheels that he's letting me roll on. Was going to buy a set but I've changed my mind and I don't think they suit the car in the way that I'm looking. We'll see what happens next.

As it stands, this is my only drift car right now. The S13 just sits in the back of the garage in bits and pieces and I don't have the motivation to do anything with it. It pushes a lot of power and I'm thinking I might just do a part out and buy something else to throw that 2JZ into. Not sure what to do, if I'm 100% honest.

# Facepalm : Niiiiice. I like your MX-5

thanks Facepalm, your builds and stories are coming along nicely.

Also to everyone,

These are the thoughts I'm having right now.

1. Keep S13 and refresh the car again, bring it back to life.

2. Part out and keep engine, put into SC300/Soarer or G37/V36 Skyline

3. Part out and get cool 4 door car (Chaser, Mark II, etc)

What do I do

I'd go with 3.
Also the Starlet is in excellent condition. I already purchased it, and I found an EJ engine from a yard sale. A kid swapped his Impreza's "heart" and was selling the engine. I bought it and I'm about to fit it.

Got all the missing parts exept the rear bumper. I will sand down the hood and the grill. (Yes that red bit there is actual metal!)

I will have to check another auto wrecker for a rear bumper and maybe some Borbet A rims; They look great on a MK2. Also will get a bad look strip for the grill so the car will look more like this: -_- and not like this: O_O

You can check out "Predator Tuning Garage" in the industrial area of southern Valo. ;) If you want a rollcage, let me know and we can make up a deal. I am quite good at electrics, too so I probably could fix your busted headlight

How low are you talking?A Holset with an RB25 on low boost (11psi or so) pushes over 350. I'm pretty sure low boost on an RB26 with an Holset is well over 400 considering raising psi on the OEM RB26 turbos pushes you to the 400 bracket on pump gas.

Great Job on the builds guys and @JDMsly welcome to town!

The s13 has gotten torn down and majority of rust cut out and patched and primed except for the rear fenders. I ordered some 50mm fenders for the rear so I can just cut and install tomorrow. I also ordered some wide fenders for the front but I am unsure if they arrive tomorrow

I am thinking of a power plant to sit in this beast, any engines for sale?

Here's the Starlet. I changed it's wheels already.
Different wheels for front and rear because drift car.
And like I mentioned, it's engineless, and I had bought a EJ25 already.
I've fitted the EJ on the Starlet, and now it goes Brapbrapbrapbraaaapstustustustu

And decided it's time to explore the mountains. I already drove on the touge, but not on the peak of the mountain.
There was ice and snow everywhere, and it was very slippery.

At some point I almost spun out and crashed, but stopped quickly because Starlet.

Suspension wise, it's not that bad, but not really ideal for drifting.
The EJ handles great, and is good for both rally races and drift events.

I've sanded down all the parts, got a bad look strip and the rear bumper. The car is already at Greg's and it will recieve it's original color. I just need to put the trim back on and it's finished.

No rotary project as of right now, but I appreciate it seeing as I know little about them.

Also that car + wheel combo is killer and you did a great job, your car is ridiculous (in a bunch of good ways). Bring it by my place to dyno it if you haven't already, I wanna hear this thing. :D

Hey, guess what! I'm back again! So, while I was gone, I finished the Z, and I'm considering picking up a rally car to challenge Facepalm. Eitherway, this is how she looks now!

Year: 1971
Miles: 20k (New motor)
Engine: ITB'd L28, pushing roughly 570 BHP
Transmission: Reinforced stock tranny.
Color (interior/exterior): Black cloth, Midnight Blue
Condition: Excellent
List of options/add-ons:
Full custom-fabricated body kit, bolted overfenders, large ducktail spoiler, original Watanabes on some decent tires, OEM interior.

Big thanks! Yeah, the Borbet A rims are a perfect match for the Golf MK2. Seen one like that and really liked it. The car is currently at Greg's shop for painting but as soon as it is back at my garage, I'll bring it over (You'll love the DXG exhaust :D ). I'll also hit a car meet with this thing to show what PTG is capable of

I got this 2Jz i found in a car that showed up at the scrap yard. The previous owner hit another car and ruind the frame, but the engine is well kept. The only thing that was damaged was the valve cover and i got the turbo that came with it and the intercooler-to-intake pipe, the turbo pipe was bent pretty badly so i left that.

Looks like my Z from my old RP. And don't bother with rallying, I'll be doing drifting first. Pick up a car that will be a good Mountain Drifter AND a good rally car afterwards. Also I'm in West Valo. It's not that close to you.

How did you squeeze 570bhp out of a 2.8 N/A engine?

I picked up some spacers today. Everything is line with the fenders but I won't say it's anything worth staring at. 13mm at the front, 25mm at the rear. I also got a diagnostic and cleaned the injectors. I guess you can say the car runs a bit better now.

Formula One engines were 800bhp out of a 3.0 N/A engine for a long time. :troll:

Not saying that anything near that level is possible with an N/A L28 - getting 500HP out of an L series motor in any spec is incredibly impressive, and I'd think it would require forced induction - but you could get that much power out of that sized engine, if you had near-impossible cylinder head flow rates and could rev the crap out of the car. Your idle characteristics and torque would probably be awful, though - you couldn't use it as a street motor.

(Speaking more in SLRR terms, it's likely that the "L28" in question is a Baiern_Emer standard engine with the D Speed parts, which could have ridiculously awesome camshaft specs for N/A builds.)
