My name is Landon, known as Buzzsaw. I’m currently living in Moka, Tochigi, Japan. I’m 25 years old, and I am currently owned small garage, that I am just recently set up the affordable garage. I’m currently no vehicle, because I was focused to finish off schools and college with good grades, and I’m starting to used be bus as commonly used. You can call me, “Bus Wanker!”. :))

Interested about, I found the advertising poster from the police station, they are going to auction impounded vehicle, mostly owner is returned and collected it but some people didn’t return it.

So, I am going to the police impound yard, where the auction is, many cars wasn’t right for me, because mostly was Kei car, work van, etc. I was about left the site and I hear voices; “Coming up next, 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS 2.0 petrol, it has been sat sunny spot for 6 years, it need loads of maintenance and re-registration for number plate.” I pause and look faded red R33. I knew, this car going be mine. So, I started first bid, but bidder seen slow than what I thought, and finally I won the bid.

TWO DAYS LATER…

R33 is finally towed from impound yard to my recently rented garage, where R33 started to work on. Damn, I felt like I was a kid to enter the candy store. Once, R33 is on ground and in my garage, then I am doing cleaning the R33 using snowfoam wash and deep polished and wax, but paint seen wasn’t restored, I was disappointed, I thought R33 doesn’t need re-painting, but I guess I was wrong.

So, here my photos, she is cleanest as it was possible.

Pops my hood and trunk!

RB20DE with worn out and dirty HKS filter, noticeable some there oil leaks. Engine won’t crank, suspecting the engine is seized.

Hey! That where missing light came from and free old battery. Seen light have broken bracket.

Close up, modified inspect…

Ooo, nice wheel! Look like, it is Volk racing? The sticker seen missing, and I may need more inspecting it, all 4 wheels have badly damaged, also some wheel nut have nearly rounded.

No branded aftermarket exhaust, look like custom one and I notice some welding look like dodgy.

Big question is…
“How much, you fucking pay for R33 GTS?”
4,500 V$ for R33 GTS that need loads of work, but seen worth to spend for new project.

Plan is for R33 GTS…
Strips R33, patches the any corrosion area, improve exterior look, re-sprays it, replace engine to RB26 and kept simple tune, and maybe GTR suspension and brake overall.
I have to kept street car friendly, and passable inspect so I can registration for number plate without problem. Let me know if you can do respray vehicle or you know somebody, let me know.

Alright, I’m going home, and I’m tired from spending six hours to polishing R33 GTS.

Wallet;
Before total price ~ 20,000 V$
R33 GTS ~ -4,500 V$
After total price ~ 15,500 V$

Hello dude, welcome!
About the r33, nice find, needs a lot of work but is in better shape than my black one!
If u want i got an rb25 long block from that car, the bad news is that the engine got bad head gasket, bad valvetrain, two bad pistons, and missing parts lik headcover, plenum, etc
Block is good, head is good, crank and rods too, only the things that i said to you
The engine turns, so isn't seized, if u want it, i will give it to you for 250$ but you need to pick it up
Anything you need, hmu, or come to my place, Street Legal Performance (SLP), the place is in Tokyo!

I'm intrigued to see the future of this project...

My R33 is inside my garage, after heavy pushing and steering, and I’m starting to inspect engine problem. The engine is currently won't cranking, and I want to find out what is at fault. I tested battery, but seen it was completed dead, so I recycled old battery and bought a brand new battery, and installed it, but still not to cranking the engine. I could hear fuel pump is working, same as starter but it seen to struggle to crank it. It was given me head scratching, same time my phone was ringing, it was my mother.

I pick up and accept call.
Mum: Hello, daring! How are you?
Me: I’m good, thanks.
Mum: Do you need car?
Me: Yes, why?
Mum: I’m selling my Skyline 350GT.
Me: Bring to my private garage when you’re free.
Mum: Sure, and I gotta go, bye!

I was amazed, she was going to selling mint condition Nissan Skyline 350GT to me. Perfect my new daily!

Back to Skyline, I checked the oil level, I was shocked. It is emptied, barely left. I grabbed socket and breaker bar, and I try to turn it. It was hell stuck, and barely movement. I thought; That engine is seized up. I being to drain all the fluids off, and removing mostly front body part. I disconnecting wires connector and hoses, also I label it so I know where it will be connected to. I disconnected transmission and supported by axle stand so it won’t dropped on the floor. I’m double checking to make sure nothing connected, then I bring engine crane and chained to engine eyes point, and I remove engine mount, I pulled engine forward, finally it was out of the car! I put engine front of R33.

Same time, my mum was arrived at my private garage, she saw I was staring to R33.
Mum: Hello Landon, and you got other car?
Me: Oh hello, mum. Yes, bought from police auction. Approving it need new engine, and other stuff. Loads of work.
Mum: Oh nice, and you told me to bring my car?
Me: Yes, let me look.

I’m taking the time to inspecting her car, and I was amazed, I cannot not find anything wrong with it, runs very smooth and quiet. She wants to sell her car because she got other new car coming and she want sell quickly since she hasn't got space to park. It came with loads of paperwork of maintenance records. She is asking 5,000 V$, I thought it was cheap. I bought it!

Such clean and mint condition 350GT, and my new daily, so I can easy for me to get parts for my R33.

Alright, I’m head home and researching online about engine costs.
I'm looking for RB25/26, with RWD layout. Not fancy going to AWD.

Wallet;
Before total price ~ 15,500 V$
Battery ~ -50 V$
Nissan Skyline 350GT ~ -5,000 V$
After total price ~ 10,450 V$

So, big change happening…
I sold my 350GT since, I wasn’t right of my taste plus I could sell it for simple cash. I was advertising on car website, and I got the prank call, well two. One is, the man who works with his client that from UK, remember my 350GT is low mileage and very well maintained car. I was asking, bit over than common prices of 350GT, I seen mostly was 10k V$ but I’m going to ask 12k V$. He did good time to inspect and test drive. I showed him paperwork as proofs, and we talk about the price, we approved final price 11,500 V$! I was impressed, I bought dirt cheap, and sold for good value.

Main reason is…
I have required to SLP aka Franklin to doing RB25 long block building for me, and the good of my friend, have his Silvia with RB26 swapped. He have RB26 fully completed head that sitting his shelf for a long time, since he change the engine from RB26 to 2JZ. He was approved to allow me to buy RB26 head then he will send head package to SLP shop so he can complete it, I was hoping 400 between 500 BHP, and engine going to cost me 11,820 V$. Engine specs will be available when it here. I may change transmission since it would be bolted to RB20 5-speed manual. Anyone suggest better transmission?

Engine is expensive to spent my cash, like it would be destroyed my wallet, that's why I have to sell my daily, to order recovered from debt.

Anyway, I wasn’t fans of S2 front look, I head to junkyard and I founds some of goodie parts.
So here what I bought it. S1 front end swap was possible big job, like it has be to need to nearly whole of front end swap to order perfect fitment.

R33 Double HID headlight.

S1 front bumper.

S1 Bonnet + Optional Grill.

R35 style LED rear light +S1 trunk garnish.

For the past few days, I was carried away and smoothing out of R33 trunk, turn out it looking nicely. It is at prime coat at the moment, it is waiting for fully respray. Also I been ordered Volks Racing TE37 Sega 18 inch with wrapped Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tyres, this time it will be brand new wheel nuts because one nut become fully rounded and I spent 2 hours trying removing it, but I was happy enough about how exterior looks, so here the final result! :)

I’m starting to like S1 look than S2, so beautiful. Thinking going to Royal Sapphire Pearl, I know it Supra colour but I was drooling with so beautiful colour. I need someone who can paint the vehicle, asps before engine going to install it.

Just need sorting other bits before it ready to send to SLP. Also, I may help it with other, if Franklin doesn’t mind. :)

Wallet;
Before total price ~ 10,450 V$
Paycheck ~ +375V$ (I forgot it, from last Monday)
S1 front end ~ - 500V$
LED Rear light + garnish ~ -200 V$
TE37 Sega + Wheels Nut (USED - MINT CONDITION) ~ - 2,000 V$
SLP’s Engine bill ~ -11,820 V$
Nissan Skyline 350GT ~ +11,500 V$
After total price ~ 7,805 V$

Bodyshop just finish within just over the week call toward me about my Skyline painting progressing. Bodyshop manager call Akio.

Akio: Hi, London. It about your Skyline.
Me: Hey Akio, is it finish?
Akio: Of course, since you already paid to us, so I can drop off Skyline outside of SLP, about lunch?
Me: Yes please! I’m let SLP crew know about Skyline is on the way, later on.
Akio: Cheer, I’m liking the colour of your choice.
Me: Thanks! Better, to catch the train, bye.
Akio: Later.

The call has ended.

I’m caught the train and head to Tokyo, where SLP location is. I’m carry bags, and items that I need it. I was on the train, I met my old classmate, she has blonde, blue eyes and pretty good shape. I just noticed her, her name was Yuri! We been lots of chatting, lots of laughter and mixed emotion while we at the train. We approved having dates, yesss! Okay, not letting carry distracted, back to the topic.

I walk to SLP, and I saw my Skyline having fresh of paint, god I was soo drooling. The colour was bright and shiny, I’m happy to choose the colour. You asked me the question; What colour you chose it? The answer is Royal Sapphire Pearl, it blue colour which can be found on some of Toyota, like Supra Mk4

So, here she is, no longer faded, damaged paint and multi-colour panels.

I meet all SLP crew, I help them to cleaning workshop and ready for tomorrow to install the engine. The engine will be revealed tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen brace yourself tomorrow! SLP Crew start liking my colour choice, and Skyline is on the ramp.

I thought, why not go to blue? Silver is quite common for R33 and not many R33's have blue.

I'm sure, you will be drooling, about my engine choice. ;)

Dude, what a final result of the R33!
As for the tranny, i reccomend you a CD009 350Z transmission, they are robust, relatively cheap and 6 speed ftw.
And chill, my boys will finish the engine in no time, but remember, go with ease in the first 500-550km, then change the oil and then will be the time for the dyno and the tune!

Ah, fresh morning from a good night's sleep at the hotel, and I’m so pumped up to doing engine install. I arrive workshop, and all crew are ready. The parts are lays and tidy ready for Monday for final finishing the engine. The engine, I choose; RB25DE long block bottom end, and RB26DETT cylinder head that has modified, I paid 700V$ toward to my friend.
One of SLP crews shown me, about his 350Z fully transmission kit for R33/RB engine. He said…

SLP Crew: Here, 350Z transmission, and custom lightweight propshaft. Thought, you’re may want to for your R33?
Me: That nice, so it have not OEM slave cylinder?!
SLP Crew: Yes, that ZSpeed Heavy Duty Clutch Slave Cylinder, work best for aftermarket clutchs.
Me: That perfect, are you selling or?
SLP Crew: No, no. It gift for you, I don’t need money.
Me: Oh thanks, that really kind for you.
SLP Crew: Trust me, it will be going very well. Have bolted it to my R33 with RB26DETT before but I change the plan, i thought why not to give you. This unit should be straight forward install.
Me: Thanks, shall we install it into RB25!

We bolted flywheel, clutch and transmission into RB25. I have some boxes to need before putting the engine inside the R33. I swapped OEM pulley to billet lightweight pulley, and OEM thermostat was replaced by Mishimoto Performance Thermostat.

We did make sure everything good tightened and torqued up, and the belt are perfect tight. We have been checking the electrical connection, make sure it is matched plugs, and I remove fuel tank, and give 100% cleaned and fitted Nismo high flow fuel pump. The battery has been moved to the trunk area. We doing RB25 fitted into engine bay, and connected everything. We was smiles, and I’m impressed gold cam cover, in fact gold cam over are rare, quite lucky I am. Before, we are finishing, the propshaft and fuel tank now fitted, also ECU are swapped to Nistune ECU, it allowing to make more re-mappable. We are given a high five and bro fisted, and we agreed to finish off at monday, so I am allowing the SLP crews having good time at weekend.

Here snap of engine progressing, and full list of spec.

Now, the weekend is coming and we having personally fun time. Finish off at Monday. :)

Wallet;
Before total price ~ 5,305 V$
Tranmission kits ~ FREE
Thermostat ~ -50 V$
Pulleys ~ - 70 V$

Importion!

Before, being of my rp. I would like to very apologetic of couple of mistaken about on previous of my RP. Thanks Franklin, for explains about transmission, I can’t do like randomly he gave me as a gift, so I will be paid to him. I paid the transmission to him is; 2000 V$, and finally, I’m forgot to mean to, it has Nismo Engine & Transmission mount installed, cost me is; 176 V$.

Total final price: 5,305 - 2,000 - 176 = 3,129 V$.

Back the rp…

Me and SLP crews, unboxing of manys parts, some from Franklin, which is I have finished paid to him, and mostly was myself to paid. Manys parts are fuel system, intakes, turbo kit, etc. are ready to install, let being! After, manys of hours have been passing, lots of swearing, swearing, laugher, and beers, finally Skyline is finished with engine progress.

Garrett turbo with SLP custom exhaust manifold, downpipe and high flow cat, SLP custom induction pipe with AEM air filter, HKS large intercooler core, and SLP custom intercooler pipes.

Otaku Garage billet front facing intake manifold with 80mm throttle, Nismo 1000cc injector, Radium Top Feed Fuel Rail Conversion, and Nismo Fuel Pressure Regulator.

Mishimoto Performance Radiator with custom high flow electrical fan shrouds.

Fujitsubo Legalis R Cat-back exhaust system.

HKS Boost Controller (between radio and heater), HKS Oil temp & pressure gauge, and HKS boost gauge.

Finally, everything the parts has been installed, so I took the photo before first time starting, we finish all fluids topped up, then I letting oil pressure build up, then we been checking everything and given good thumb up, and engine goes...

ENGINE DOESN’T CRANKING BUT FUEL PUMP IS QUIETLY HUMMING.

Look like starter motor wasn’t kicking to make cranks, and our time went flews because we done many times of doing correctly, torqued up, and fluids finish off, also we are very tired. We agreed having good night and sort out problem tomorrow.

Wallet;
Before total price ~ 3,129 V$
Paycheck ~ +415 V$
Custom downpipe with high flow cat ~ -300 V$
Fujitsubo Legalis R Exhaust ~ -641 V$
Radium Top Feed Fuel Rail Conversion ~ -250 V$
Nismo Fuel Pressure Regulator ~ -120 V$
HKS Boost Controller ~ -200 V$
HKS Three Gauges ~ -210 V$

Dude, the r33 is getting real close!
And the starte maybe is bad, i didn't checked that because, well, the engine was in that black r33 that i bought, maybe is good or not, check the wiring, all the ground wires, etc, maybe is that, if not, try to tap it with a hammer while it tries to crank, so you can start it and buy the starter and know that the starter is bad (the shop will pay the starter if it's that)
(OORP : About the transmission, don't worry, at least you fixed the mistake, no problem!)

We will re-check wires, starter motor give try bench-test, and check spark plug at tomorrow, we could simply connected wrong one. I think starter may be bad, but we will find out at tomorrow.

Where I have been for the past few days?
Few days ago, I was checking starter motor, turns out it was dead starter motor, by using bench test. I order brand new part, but they delivery wrong starter motor, twice then they said it was out of stocks, I have to wait a few days more.

Yesterday, finally corrected starter motor is here, I was happy. I fitted new starter and…

ENGINE IS CRANK, CRANK, CRANK, THEN ROAR TO LIFE.

Yesss! She is started, sound like healthy RB25, the exhaust give nice rumbles, and noise. I re-inspects while engine is running, seen no leaking. I give her good drive around private land, so police can’t caught me for no plate. Oh my god, brake was AWFUL! It was pulling one side and sticky brake performance, and suspension is soft and woolly. I will sort out before giving to inspector. SLP crew told me, it better to leave my R33 at site, because they know where inspector for plate, it wasn’t far from SLP, so it save myself the trips. I trust them, and I let to R33 staying till she is legal on the road.

I’m going to buy used suspension and brake since my budget is very tight.

Today…

At midnight, SLP went silent alarmed on, which alerted the police, and inspected it. Unfortunately, thefts got away then police contact to SLP crew, one crew are woken up and came to turn off the alarm, he was noticed, my R33 was stolen! He was phoned me, and come to SLP asps. I arrive rush and half sleepy, I was stunned, my R33 stole cleanly, no broken glass or left finger print, lucky it have CCTV 24hr installed. They look CCTV, and my R33 was parked nearest garage door, and he got made open the door and drive off quickly.

The CCTV tape was hand to police to investigation about thefts ID. He doesn’t have masked on, police was hoping it was noticed the ID on police database, which means I have to wait from police anything detailed. I did warn to police, that R33 have poor brake and no plate.

I'm so blummed! Why selfish prick stole my beloved over 20k V$ R33? I'm upset and angry.

Wallet;
Before total price ~ 1,823 V$
Starter Motor ~ -100 V$
After total price ~ 1,723 V$

I'm worry, it may end of crashed, because brake wasn't good, like they are over place and sticky.

The return of godzilla.
Part I of II.

Part I: Skyline GST Death Day.
Date: Friday.

Remember, my R33 GST got stolen from SLP?
Lucky, thefts doesn't touch all rest of SLP, but only my R33, however very seriously bad news for me.

The theft was spotted by other police, after noticing missing resignation plate. Theft doesn't want to pull over, and he want play cop and robber. During high speed chasing, he was noticing R33 wasn't set up completed of suspension and brake, he noticed traffic crossing ahead, and he slammed the brake but brake was badly worn, give enough out of control and hit the tree and destroyed front end and the engine torn out. Theft do not make alived due impact are heavy, leaving him to death suddenly.

At morning on Friday, police came my hotel and knocked, then I open the door. The polices hold his hat on chest.
Police: I'm very deeply sorry loss of your vehicle.
Me: Come in, are you kidding me?!
We are sit down.
Police: No jokes, nothing. Theft lose control during braking as high speed.
Me: Damn it, I knew it where that happen.
Police: Your vehicle is destroyed. Front end like gone.
Me: I spent loads money to fix and I get nothing but tiny cash...
Police: We are try our best, but I;m sorry for your loss. Your vehicle is at our impound yard, if you need to view.
Me: Thank you.
Police: Also, I was deeply shocked, theft turn out was your vehicle previous owner, he have spare key. We guessed, he must be stalk to you and nick your vehicle.
Me: That why, he made enter my vehicle quickly.
Police: Okay, we are going.
I lead police to leave my hotel room and say goodbye.

After, I calm myself down and sorting out my R33 GST insurance, and I head to impounded yard, where my R33 is. I was stunned, my R33 become unfixable due damage of front end. I wasted most of my money toward my R33, I was look found being legal street car, but it shorten of her life. I give 10 mins silence, and I was very emotion. I can't fix her anymore, chassis is completed twisted and torn off. They allow me just one photo, so I can share to you about my R33 GST update...

Rest in peace, my beloved R33. I haven't named you...

Now, I'm going to read the newspaper, oh boy. I'm sure theft killed during high speed chase are anywhere the news. I hope anything there car for sale, oh boy I found dirty cheap car!

Stay tune part II at tomorrow!

I'm terribly sorry on the loss of your R33 man, it's quite devastating to see your car going away all in a sudden and then you found it in pieces :(
Oh well, at least you've still got cash for a replacement

Damnnnn, that's a shame
It was getting really good, but hey
Hopefully you recover the cash
I have talked to the boys at the garage and luckily all of the things are good except for the electric door that was bent but nothing more.
But, that's weird really, that they only took your car, but okay, thieves are sometimes very stoopid lol.
Hopefully you recover the money and do a new build!
I'm stoked to see a new build comin'
