A FRESH STARTHenlo, my real name is Deniz but y'all know me as tyretear. I'm 26, I'm living in Japan since 2017. Nagano to be exact. I've been collecting money to get my hands on a project car for so long. I guess this is enough info about me. Let's take a look at my buy...I've recently came across this r32 sedan on auctions. It was a grade 3 ECR32 with rb25de and GT-R front end convertion and taillights and it seems there was an intercooler so I assumed it was turbo and decided to put my money on it. I managed to get it for 7000 V$, which sure was a steal. Car also has a 1 month temporary registration and I'm going to have to registrate it soon. I drove back to my home later that day and parked my car to its fresh new slot... So, naturally, I decided to inspect it a bit... Interior was completely stock, it had aftermarket GT-R badges on it, hood was actually a gtst hood that got cut. Under the hood there was a stock looking rb25 with r33 manifold, r33 turbo and a huge intercooler which I still don't know where it is from. I think I can assume car is making 250 hp at crank... ... but under the chassis it wasnt that great, car had worn out bushings and cut spring and it was pretty much stock. I guess this is where I start from huh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . This post was edited by tyretear (2019-05-04 23:27, ago) |

Thank you all for your responses . I think this is going to be a daily/drifter untill I get a second ride, I dont have exact future plans with it but things I gotta do are kinda obvious I think. INTENSE WEEK IS INTENSEAs I said bushings were busted, car was feeling loose and wobbly while driving it, so I decided to start from drivetrain... Before everything, as you can see I finally have a legit registiration for the car. I decided to change bushings out, their solid aluminum counterparts was ready to install but when I removed the wheel for second time I realized shocks was leaking and there was oil all around it. So I decided to go Up garage that is literally 2 kms away from me and luckily I found a set of Apexi N1 coilovers. They are 8k on front and 6k on back. A bit understeery but I think it will suit for drifting. I was also thinking to go for 5 lug convertion. I bought a set of z32 hubs but couldn't find any z32 brakes near me. I didn't want powerful brakes for this car becouse the would lock up easily so I couldn't go for something big like brembo or project mu. Therefore I just went balls to walls and bought a set of 326 Power brakes. I didn't go twin caliper setup on rear just yet becouse z32 hubs have drum brakes inside them which works as handbrake that works just fine for drifting. Car is still on jacks and waiting for rims. I ordered them from internet and they should be here in like 1 or 2 days. Contact me if you want 4 lug brake convertion or steelies. |

# Sleepin mOnkey : boo yah skyline gang congrats on the upgrade if you called i could sould you my brembos as I said I didn't want to go for something powerful like brembos, thanks anyway NEW SHOESAs I said, I ordered some new wheels for Skyline like a week ago. They came yesterday morning and here they are. These are 17x9.5 +15 CST Hyper Zeros with 225/35/R17 tyres wraped around them. I actually checked the fitment of wheel before so I could get it tight. You might say I'm satisfied with result . Later that day I had to visit inner Osaka, decided to take a photo through sunset. I really like this shot tbh... |

# Sleepin mOnkey : them wheels look amazing perfect fit # Asahi : oh man this looks really great thanks LITTLE THINGS HERE AND THEREI was thinking it was time to do more supportive mods after suspension and wheels, I was quite unsatisfied with lateral supports of stock sedan seat so I thought it was time to upgrade to a Bride Zeta III, I choose it red to match with 326 Brake centers and Lug Nuts. They look awesome when you look the bigger picture itself imo. Also found an R32 rear trunk lip for cheap at yahoo auctions. It was 15.000 yen in total to buy and ship it to my prefecture (which makes roughly 150 V$). I'm thinking to paint match it later. By the way, I gotta say something different is coming up... Stay tuned... :D |

AFTER A BIG BREAKWell, it's been a while a guess :3. I gotta say r32 sucked all the money out of my pockets yet it had everything I needed. Decent milage, decent power, decent fitment and an AC... All I did with it was color matching the trunklip and... ...drift the shit out of it... but there was an problem with it. I couldn't comfortably drift it becouse it was also my daily. Crashing it meaned I would had to walk home which obviously I didn't want to. So I waited a while untill I got some dough and bought myself an project car... A 1994 Nissan Silvia Q's! Just at 150k KMs and minor imperfections :DD As you can guess from it being an Q's, it has an SR20DE, with TODA Headers, Koyorad raidator and a "cold air intake kit" which are pretty standart mods. I guess it had been hit from rear, its rear bumper is from another s14, brakes are stock, it has Tein coilovers, rim's are... they don't matter just know they are 17", interior is a bit worn out but it is stock and good enough. Thanks to my luck, it already had a registiration and becouse of bodywork it was cheap enough for me to buy, just at 6700 V$! I hope I will get a turbo for it soon. Well thats all for this update. |

Well indeed if you're going to go drfiting all-out, it's much safer to get a project car that you won't regret so much when you damage them and you're still free from the risk of taking a looooong walk home. (Well, says the guy who competitively races his daily and doesn't want to lose his current missile car )
Nice choice as well! Not only it's an S-Chassis which means cheap mods are available and it's easy to tune, S14s can be found for cheap around the internet (at least in Japan and probably UK) so you can acquire another should this one (well god forbid) ended its life prematurely. And seeing that it might have been rear-ended, you might want to check the structures (panels?) behind the rear bumper. Or uh, might as well weld a bash bar on it. |

that r32 sedan looks great! i love the coupe taillight conversion, looks like it was done quite well by the previous owner. I've always wanted to get into one but I'm never able to find one that I like. The S14 shows promise too, time will tell what direction you take with it!

(Well, says the guy who competitively races his daily and doesn't want to lose his current missile car ) Thanks for your nice comments! I don't think chassis is damaged tho, it seems pretty straight. ACTUALLY BUYS T28 LIKE A BOSSturbo timeSince I bought the S14 I did a check on fluids and they seemed good enough so I decided to get straight to a turbo kit, an used one but it's a turbo kit after all. It incldes a crusty s15 manifold, a garret t28 in relatively good condition (no shaft play, no scratches on turbines etc.) dirty old hks filtrer, all blitz piping and intercooler. I aimed for good response and 250-300 ps with this kit since engine just isn't in the perfect condition. I also get apexi power fc and hks turbo timer with it. As long as it works, it works! :DD I couldn't get the bumper back on becouse piping and intercooler was hitting the bumper, try to fix it somehow later. Since car came with tein coilovers I lowered the car down a bit yet I couldn't assume how low it gets so it sits in a modest height right now. I might change it later tho... Edit: forgot to mention I took of that boring a$$ badges too lol This post was edited by tyretear (2019-07-19 18:49, ago) |

LOW CAR GOOD CARBigSmoke was right as hell, there was still some juice left in coilovers. Now I have not one but 2 low ass nissans :DD. I might have installed the turbo kit but car was still running on a safe tune, I did a little run to daikoku so my friend Asashi could tune the car onboard. Did a little road side photo too. THESE HOES MIGHT BE FAKE BUT MY WHEELS ARE REALCar felt pretty much dialed in yesterday, I thought it was time to get some wheels, lucky enough I managed to found these Advan Onis 20 minutes away from me! Owner said he had an R32 GTS-T at some point that he used to drifts at Nikko Circut but he had to sold the car. So now I have these. They are 17x9J +20 rims with 205/35/R17 tyres wrapped around them, which just barely tucks in on rear. It also turns out I lost my trimmer somwhere in shop, untill I find it I will just run the plate on crashbar, it is not exactly legal but will do the job for now :DD . |

And yay rare wheel gang! It's not everyday we all see three-spokes on any cars here (okay, my Foxbody has them from the factory but still), so seeing someone rocking one is quite a refreshing sight and a blessing And uh, welcome to the broke car guy club as well I'm getting broke quite quickly at times so I know that feel |

Making that S14 good, i see! 3 spoke wheels are not my thing but they surely give it a proper 90's look. Careful with that SR20 though, just putting a turbo kit on a NA engine is not really the best thing to do lol.

Car is safe tuned about 250-260 crank horsepower btw, boost is 0.7 bar and I put a lot of retardation on ignition so it should be safe also it has a soft cut and boost cut for redline. GOING OUT FOR A TEST DRIVEI was excited to burn the fresh rubber I got from the last week so I head down to one of the closest circuts to me, legendery Nikko circut. I'm also not sure how good suspention setup is since I haven't adjusted any of camber/caster (unless front camber which I pretty much maxed out to negarive side). Good old zenki wheel was worn and bent in hot summer days and was giving its last breaths, I stopped by my sweet UpGarage to get a wheel, this fake sparco wheel with adapter was hanging onto the shop's wall, and I got a deal for it tho! Only 1.100 yens! (Which is roughly 100$) It just feels decent and gets the job done! I gotta admit, this was fun! 2nd gear corners were ok but 3rd gear corners really wanted me to go full thortlle and clutch kick all the way, esspecially the back straight. I had to manji that straight 3 times to link 2 corners! I had to sit in the car and get calm time to time but you can be sure brakes were smoking C: . Suprising enough, wheels barely even rubbed! Not in a bad way, but in a smokey way C: . 3 DAYS LATERI head down to south and drove 4 hours to Southern Sazan Circut to see a event, participating to it wasn't in my plans and a blue car caught my eyes in the pit area... Akinobu Satsukawa's legendary R32 Sedan! It was so cool to see his R32 next to mine! And, as you might expect, it was lower than mine! |

# Sleepin mOnkey : That definitely looks like a lot of fo fun also both skylines and the s14 looks amazing AF Thank you! MINI UPDATE: REAR END OVERHAULCar was pretty dialed in under the skin but I think I have to dial its cosmetics step by step too, found some kouki taillights I was digging for a while and got a deal for it, also bought a fart can and cleaned the rear end from some bits here and there. Like oem zenki spoiler and antenna. Did a little weld on holes, sandpapered them and then throw some body filler over them, then sand it once more and ta-dah! Now it looks better shape wise, gonna paint the whole car in the near future anyway. Also front bumper is back on! had to chop some piping and mounted it to the back of the front crashbar, now there is room for an actual front bumper! Stay tuned! |
